Is it true that they have the Kummelweck at Cafe @ 270?
YES ! And on Anthem, it was very good although they had that thick nasty gravy instead of au jus.

Agreed on the international flights. That’s about the only time you will find me anywhere near Dulles.

Wow, I knew us Brits got a raw deal with prices but that’s ridiculous. For our July visit we are been asked for £645 for a Ocean lagoon cabana which is $850!!
Ooooouch !

I always bring wraps but that is primarily for the casino where temps are normally subzero.
To be honest, Dan is more likely to be cold than I am. He almost always brings a hoodie or sweatshirt. The breeze on the open decks in the evenings can be chillish....even in the summertime.

I’m going to suggest that they got really lucky. It is my understanding that the cruise line will ONLY accept a raised seal birth certificate and that even a certified copy (without a raised seal) would not be good enough.
Hooray that you friends/neighbors were able sail but I think that there was a far better chance that they would have been denied if they had not gotten the right agent. So glad it worked out.

Don’t you hate how they made the change to include the milkshakes in writing but now that they are reversing that policy it’s nowhere to be found in writing ! This really stinks. Navigator never honored the milkshakes without a cover charge, to my knowledge.

Good ol' 35X. Know it well....
We are also equidistant.....but only to DCA and IAD. BWI is waaay out of the way for us. I truly despise IAD so we will always try and use DCA whenever possible. I was just there this morning...biz travel AGAIN this week.

If I were to guess my first guesses would be that your based in Dallas, Charlotte, or Chicago? Most others l, especially those not in AA hub cities would have that transpiration cost savings negated by the connection that would be added out of FLL. Flying 110-125 times a year anytime I can cut a connection out of a trip is always better.
Same here. We always travel AA and in order to fly from DCA to FLL we would have to have a connection. No thanks. I will fly a nonstop into MIA and get to PE from there.

Right now where southwest goes out of in terminal 1 you can’t use precheck if you use clear.
And on the global entry side, anyone who is thinking about precheck should go all the way to global entry. Think of it as three dollars a year that could save you nearly an hour sometimes.
Wow. I’ve never seen a CLEAR site where you couldn’t use PreCheck. I agree....that’s the whole point !
Concur about Gobal Entry if you’re going to go to the trouble of getting PreCheck you might as well go just a couple of bucks more and get Global Entry. It’s certainly worth it and you CAN use GE at Port Everglades. It’s a huge time saver but as far as I know PE is the only port that uses GE. PoM claims to have I t but they never have the kiosk manned so for all practical purposes, it does not exist at PoM.

Port Everglades does have a Global Entry kiosk.

I’m sorry to hear that they would not include 150 in the BOGO. Frankly, I’m surprised. 150 is not the she-she restaurant it once was. I’m sorry, TBH. It was once a very unique restaurant with a great menu. Now it’s just another specialty restaurant.

So excited for you ! Have a GREAT cruise.

How far away is the Krazy Lobster?
It is maybe a 5 minute ride by either taxi or shuttle. It's far enough away that you cannot walk but close enough that it is not a big deal. The shuttle runs only 1 way....for reasons unknown. You can catch the shuttle over but have to get a taxi back. It makes for a very inexpensive day but you do have to contend with the peddlers which can be a nuisance.

After reading this account over at that “other place” I realized that this is the same fella that was on the Anthem the 2 weeks that we did our B2B.
He pulled that dog around in a little wagon. We saw them everywhere on the ship. We saw them in Sorrentos and in the Coastal Kitchen, so he wasn’t concerned at all about taking the dog into a food service area. He was a grump, too. Apparently he’s a Pineapple. Not that there’s anything wrong with that...

I do not know Blue Reef so I cannot provide an opinion but I have been to Costa Maya a number of times. It is one of my favorite ports of call. I think you are talking about going to Mahaual, which is the small coastal town near the port. If so, I do recommend going there. It is very nice.
One thing you should be aware of - there are lots of roving peddlers who wander about selling their trinkets. They are not aggressive but they are persistent. Just politely tell them “no thank you” and they will move on but there will be another behind them.
If you are interested in the massage on the beach, I will give you 1 piece of advice. Do NOT let anyone “help” you find a massage. That will double the price and the “finder” will keep half. It is very easy to find the masseuses. They are everywhere along the beach. Just go up to one of them and negotiate a price yourself. Back in the day they were $20 for an hour. I’m sure the price has gone up since then but start out at $20 and see what you can negotiate. It is money well spent.
We usually go to the Krazy Lobster but I’m sure Blue Reef is similar. Expect to pay $1 for a Corona.

Interesting that Agents’ commissions expenses are higher than fuel expenses. Hard to believe.
Also, lumping casino together with bar revenues seems odd... one would think that they would want to track bar revenues very closely given the need to determine whether drink package prices were profitable or not. I have no doubt that drink packages ARE profitable.

Lol...we discussed this already. We are December 13, 2020 on HM. The week after you.
Sorry. My mind is old and feeble. I have CRS.

@twangster posted this a while ago and I remembered it. December is usually not an option for me because of teaching. When new itineraries came out back before Christmas, we grabbed the Villa suite on HM (Star Class!) for early December 2020 for just over $1K pp. No joke! I couldn’t believe it either at first!
I would be on that OA sailing this coming December too if I could.
What date are you going in Dec 2020 ? We are in a Star Loft Suite on Oasis on Dec 6 2020.

I can only provide the experience that I have had. We almost always purchase the UDP and so far, we have always been able to use it on embarkation day at Chops or Jamie's/Giovanni's, depending upon which restaurant is open on that day. Traditionally, only 1 specialty restaurant had been open for embarkation but with the advent of The Key, most ships seem to be having both Chops and whatever Italian variety restaurant they have on that ship, open..
We've never been turned away BUT we will be doing our first non-Star Class cruise with the UDP next month on Freedom. I really don't know what to expect ! Luckily we are in a full suite so I intend to ask the Concierge to make a reservation for us. For those who do not have access to the Concierge, I fear it could be a problem. I think it will just be a wait and see kind of thing.
Up until now we have always been able to eat at a specialty restaurant on embarkation day using our UDP. That's really all of the intel I can offer !
BTW, welcome to the Boards !
