That Caprese looks GREAT ! I think that's the first time I have ever read someone say that the view in the Anthem CK was better than the view in a O class ship. Have to strongly disagree with that one ! I hope you do not have Dennis as your CD. He is the WORST. Glad you are enjoying Yen. She will warm up to you. She's just very formal at first. You may even be lucky enough to get a smile from her before the end of the week. I know how you feel when you get to the Suites waiting area in Port Liberty. Not exactly what you would call "exclusive"...but you're only there for a few minutes and then everything is exclusive after that. So envious ! We had such a great 16 days on Anthem. It was definitely the highlight of our cruise life so far !

How was embarkation ? What do you think of Yen ?

I’m not so sure that they wouldn’t give you a refund if that’s the option you would want. If you really want to cancel, I would call and find out.

The per-person per-night rate for our 3+4 night NAV cruises compared to a “regular” 7 night cruise is very high. Royal is definitely charging for the convenience of the shorter cruises. There is no way I would be forking out full fare for these 2 cruises. If they weren’t upgraded casino comps we would not be going !

I have heard some very unofficial yapping about a small Suites area somewhere...but nobody really knows much about it, if it even exists. I don’t think there is anything there but some loungers. I will find out soon. On a B2B on NAV in a GS at the end of June. I’ll report back if nobody else gets any intel before then.

Last year on our Allure cruise we were Star Class but our SSP showed “Sky” Class. It was (I’m sure) b/c they had recently reclassified a number of the suites and I imagine ours just got caught up in the reclassification fallout. We had no problem once we got to the SC check-in but it added unnecessary stress worrying that everything was *OK* until we got to the pier.

This is how I see it as well. “Grandfathering” is meaningless for cruisers.

The ONLY time I have ever very received any kind of follow-up to a survey was when we were Star Class and had a disappointment with our suite. They contacted us 3 different times to follow up on that one but other than that, we have never gotten any kind of follow-up.

Unfortunately, I suspect that it means that there was a computer glitch with your Set Sail pass. If you are in a balcony class room then you will not be eligible for any of the suite amenities. What room number does your Set Sail Pass show ? Is it the same balcony room as you had booked ? Had you bid on a RoyalUp offer ?

Correct. No penalty for upgrading even with a NRD. I would seriously consider upgrading to the JS - not just for the extra room and the double points, but if you are booked in a JS and get a RoyalUp offer to upgrade to an even higher suite level then you would get double points on that upgrade. If you stay in your non-suite room and get a RoyalUp offer and your bid is accepted, you would not get double points.

I feel awful for those of you who are affected by these itin changes but I have NO sympathy whatsoever for Royal Caribbean. They knew da*n well that this outcome was a very real possibility back in April but they rolled the dice and continued to advertise and book these Cuba cruises. Now they're going to have to refund money and grovel for forgiveness when much of this could have been avoided. If I had enough vacation time on the books (which I certainly do NOT) I would have quickly booked one of the Cuba sailings JUST to get the doubtless OBC that will come the way of those who are being inconvenienced. As a shareholder I am incensed. Share prices are already falling.
