  1. Even Celebrity is not a 100% smoke-free line. They do not allow smoking inside anywhere but you can still smoke on certain outer deck areas. I feel quite certain that Royal would never try and go 100% smoke-free.
  2. The cruise line would never release the name of the person in the room you want so that is a no-go. I have read many times of people asking the cruise line to intercede on their behalf and never have I heard of it happening. The TA will have no ability to help you, either. Unfortunately, there is little to do in this situation. I completely understand your desire to keep the same room for your B2B but I would not hold hope that you can make this happen. The only possible thing that I could think of to do would be that MAYBE if you join the roll call for this sailing and ask to see if MAYBE the person in your room happens to be on the roll call that MAYBE you could get in touch with them directly that way. Other than that, I can't think of a thing to suggest.
  3. Unfortunately, it is the same sad story that you hear about so many things with Royal....consistently inconsistent. While I have never tried to order more than one entree, (I'm lucky to finish what I order with just 1 entree !!) I have read of some who were denied multiple entrees with the Unlimited Dining Package, even though it very clearly says that you are allowed multiple entrees in the Overview. As with all things, it will depend on the ship and sometimes, even depends on the individual server. If you have the UDP and decide that you really must have 2 entrees, order them and be prepared for pushback. That's about all you can do.
  4. It depends on the ship. On Grandeur, it is in the Centrum area on Deck 5 next to Guest Services. On some ships it can be in the Schooner Bar. Hint: look for older people or people in scooters/wheel chairs. Whever they are gathering, that will be the place where they will demonstrate the life vests inside. Close to muster time they may try and shoo you out. Just tell them that your Seapass cards have already been scanned and stay put. As long as you get your Seapass card scanned, listen to the presentation and see the life vest demonstration you are compliant.
  5. Avoiding standing outside (on the smaller ships) during muster drill. Once the drill is starting, go to the person who is scanning the sea pass cards, have your cards scanned and then go inside and have a seat ! One of the crew will be demonstrating the life vest and you have a comfortable place to sit and wait for the crowds to diminish after the drill ends OR be ready to dash to the elevators once the Captain has completed his remarks.
  6. As far as you know the ship is still on schedule to sail out of Miami 24 Nov ?
  7. Hmmm....guess I’m going to have to learn to deal with the app. I have never even tried to use it b/c it had been so glitchy. Thanks for the push to come up to speed with it. Are you able to comm with Sunil on the app or do you still have to call him ? I just find it objectionable to have to detail every single item I want to eat and drink to the Genie. It seems so backward.
  8. We’ve done the sushi-making class twice and enjoyed it both times. If you enjoy eating sushi chances are you will enjoy making sushi. You get to eat everything you make !
  9. Did you have a Playmakers menu ? Did you call in the order yourself or have Sunil call it on for you ? I really hate asking my a Genie to call in a room service order for me. It seems like it should be something I should do for myself but I have had AWFUL luck with getting anyone to answer the phone when I call to place an order. I end up having to call the Genie anyway and it’s frustrating.
  10. Those choices can no longer be made online. You will need to call C&A to have provide that information. Courtesy of the website upgrade.
  11. LOL. Kidding, of course. My story is pretty much the same as yours. No particular reason other than I managed to attain a pretty high status from all of my biz travel. I just keep that ball rollin' !! ...and as Lovetocruise2002 will tell you, DON'T DO IT ! (go above JS). It will ruin you forever !
  12. ...and I thought we might have been friends.... ??
  13. I am SO glad you mentioned this. As soon as I read your post I went on Amazon and ordered some non-bio-degradable good ol' fashioned run-of-the-mill, old timey clear plastic straws. No Johnny Rockets malts with gag-worthy (where have I heard that ??) paper straws for ME on this trip !
  14. Bill, I wouldn't worry too much about that warning. It always says that... When you purchase the package, the "system" will automatically make a first night reservation for you. When you board the ship, go directly to any specialty restaurant OR (depending on the ship) the specialty dining kiosk that will be set up on the Promenade. If you like the restaurant to which you are assigned for the first night, cool. Just confirm that you will keep that reservation. If, however, you do not want to go to the restaurant to which they assigned you, ask to change your reservation to a different restaurant. At that same time, you can make the rest of the reservations for the remaining nights of your package. There is almost ALWAYS availability at the beginning of the cruise. I have been doing dining packages for many years and I have never failed to get the restaurant and time of my choosing if I take care of this early on. It is when you need to make a change late in the cruise where you might have a problem. You will be fine. Get the package and then make your reservations or changes as soon as you get on board. You will have a great experience.
