I have always used the Suites check-in line when I had a JS.  If the Set Sail pass says “Suite” (which it always has) then you can use the suites line.  Nothing else though….

We have also used the Suites check-in line as well and never had an issue. I did go back to some of the expired passes that I have lingering in my Apple Wallet and did notice that on the Oasis class ships they do mention if it is Sea Class or Sky Class under the heading Suite. But on other classes of ships it only says Suite.

    I still do too.

What I've been doing for the last few cruises we've taken is to download the Set Sail pass to my Apple Wallet and instead of printing the full Guest Ticket Booklet, I'll just print the first few pages indicating the cruise guests and sailing date. No need for all the rules and regulations.

My turn to have issues. App kicked me out and I get the "we hit a snag, try later" message when I try to login. Website still working fine.

Same for me but the website isn't working for me either. I get the "It's not you. It's us" message on the website and "Sorry, we hit a snag" on the app.

What was the company that you used?

We used Cab Roma for most of it and another service, Civitavecchia Cab Service, for our trip from the port to the airport as I was late to book with Cab Roma. Very happy with both services and all done by email. I wasn't sure how we would be in touch with them once we landed/disembarked but as soon as i had WIFI, I received notifications from each company by WhatsApp.

  5. On our last trip on Oasis a couple of weeks ago, we used the services of SAS Transport. We used them from our hotel in Fort Lauderdale to Port of Miami and back to FLL airport. The van in the picture looks like a "molester" van but in fact was a nice modern Mercedes van that took us both ways. They charge $15 per person per trip (up to 4 people) and $13 if you're more. Everything is done by email and was booked 3 weeks before our cruise. Wasn't sure what to expect at first but since we were 5 decided to try it out. In the end we were quite happy with our experience with them.

  6. We've sailed in JS on a few occasions and have only been refused a CK reservation once. That was on day 1 of our January cruise and we were probably late to try and reserve. All other cruises where CK was available, we had no issue getting in at the time we wanted. In fact, we usually reserve for 8:00 PM and at that time CK isn't too full anyway. Also, we definitely enjoy the extra space and double points.

  7. I was on this sailing as well. From what I heard she's doing okay. In fact, there were 2 shows later that week. After the first show, there were comments I saw saying that the show was short and not complete, about 25 minutes total. We were leery of going to the later show but happy we did. It was the full 50 minute show and it was spectacular. Whether the injured diver was part of the show, I cannot say.

  8. I would call them about this. Same thing happened to us where we booked a jr suite GTY on a casino comp and when the Royal Up offer came in it was for cabins in lower categories than what we booked for. We called and it was a good thing we did. Somehow the reservation in their system was messed up but when we called everything got straightened out. Next Royal Up offers we received were for categories above.

  9. For my most recent cruise, which was a first using GTY booking, as soon as my Set Sail pass was available I added it to my Apple Wallet. It showed deck number and muster number and under room it showed GTY. But at the bottom, where the barcode was there was a 9 digit code then a hyphen and 4 other numbers. Those 4 numbers was the room number. I checked online to see what type of room it was and it was the type we reserved and in the end was our room.

Besides the receipts which seem to vary greatly by ship/sailing, *if* the app is working,

Our experience has been, when we first sailed as Diamond last January on Harmony, it seemed that most waiters weren't familiar with the system yet as it had just been implemented a little while prior. We never received a receipt and would always ask how many vouchers we had left. On our last cruise on Independence at the end of November, almost every time we ordered we did receive a receipt. When we didn't, it usually was because we ordered from a waiter on the pool deck instead of going to the bar. Getting the receipt definitely made it easier for leaving a tip since we may not always have cash on us. With each cruise after Harmony, we would get more receipts than we did on the previous cruise.

They can do both USD and CAD - you can choose which currency you want at time of booking. If you make a CAD booking the deposit will be charged in CAD.

We've done it both ways at Next Cruise. One thing to remember is whichever currency you book the cruise in will carryforward to Cruise Planner as well. So if you book in CDN then all prices in CP will show up in CDN. Same applies for the OBC you may have, they will show it in the currency of the booking.

Was the location OK? Stand alone or adjoining room?

We've a JS GTY on Oasis in Feb...all JS appear to be sold out for our sailing...

Location is good, deck 6 pretty much mid-ship in a cluster of 4 JS. It’s an adjoining room but we’re not using it as such. Actually the only reason we did GTY was because that was the only JS option available for that sailing. It’s our first experience with it.
