  1. We noticed that on our Anthem cruise last week. No more signatures or paper receipts required. You still have the opportunity to slip someone a cash tip.
  2. Thank you @wstephensi for the tux rental info. I will ask when I am on board. I submitted the info for the online RCI rental yesterday and the site would not allow me to proceed. Minimum 5 days in advance required for the rental according to the message. So know I know for future rentals.
  3. Thanks @Waaaytoo for the quick response. Had hoped to save our cabin attendant from having to redo the beds on the first day.
  4. Just a few more days until our cruise. Quick questions. How can we specify ahead of time how we want our beds configured? One of our cabins needs to be two single beds, the other should be one larger bed. 2nd question-we did not prepay tips for this cruise. Should we go ahead and do that and if so, how do we do it? Whether we prepay or not, we usually leave a tip for our cabin attendant. What's a good rule of thumb to use to leave an appropriate tip? 3rd question-how much notice do you have to give RCI to rent a tuxedo? We are struggling with some of the measurements for our son....anyone know how far in advance is required to rent a tux? Or how to do the inseam/outseam measurement? Thanks everyone and happy Holidays!
  5. We sailed on Freedom a couple of summers ago. The balconies are "semi-private" at best but we enjoyed ours. We didn't really see a lot of people unless we were right on the rail, but very easy to hear people as noise seems to travel from neighboring balconies (even the ones above or below you).
  6. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. @Matt, I have done the "add guests" and it worked for some of our activities but not for others Not a huge deal, we can get it sorted out on board.
  7. We are booked on North Star on Anthem in a couple of weeks. Could only get 2 people booked (on a sea day) out of our party of 4. Hope to find more availability. If I recall correctly (sometimes that's a 50/50 guess), someone on this forum recently posted pics using NS at Bayonne on Anthem. I'll see if I can find the post. It definitely has been used in other ports. If there's no availability, you could try the stand-by line. For the OP question about the flowrider, I have never seen a cost for it unless you are booking private lessons or a group.
  8. Hello. We are just 15 days away from our Anthem cruise! Had a few questions about the Cruise Planner and our Reservations. We booked two rooms and have two reservation numbers. How do I combine the reservations for shows, dinner, onboard activities, etc.? So far I have "added guests" from another reservation but sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Do I need to call RCI to get this fixed or am I missing something? We did the 3 night dining package. The cruise planner seems to be allowing reservations for dining but when I tried to make one at Chops, it charged us the extra fee for Chops even though we have already paid for the package. Do I just need to wait until we get on board to make the dining choices? Thinking of Chops, Jamie's, and Wonderland. Anybody have a better suggestion? Thanks for your suggestions and wisdom!
  9. In addition to our Anthem of the Seas sailing on 12/28/19 with our teenagers we have added Empress of the Seas Feb 23, 2020 (no kids)! Still waiting for Alaska 2023 bookings to open up!!!
  10. It's a fun class and a LOT of sushi. We were allowed to take our leftovers in a box. Several people attended without participating in the class. We were on Navigator.
  11. One of the best days of the week= CRUISE DAY. Enjoy!!!
  12. Great pics @Twangster! Thank you for sharing. The Port Side BBQ looks amazing. What is the "banana dream" dessert listed on the menu?
  13. Headed to CocoCay later this month and looking forward to the new changes. Which secret sandwich does @Matt always refer to on the podcast (and where do you get it)?
  14. About 15 years ago, a friend booked a cruise for all of us going from Philadelphia to Bermuda.....in APRIL. Rough seas, bad weather, expensive cruise fare =big time rookie mistakes.
  15. We are sailing Anthem at the end of December and didn't book the cruise until early October. Able to book Spectra and We Will Rock You with no issues. Very limited availability for Ifly and Northstar (only able to book 2 of our 4 passengers) so hope we can work that out on the ship.
  16. Selfishly, I would like to see RC continue to serve Baltimore. I am 2 hours South of the port and there is a BIG difference in the trip from Baltimore to NYC for us. Not just the miles, the traffic is awful, there are lots of tolls, and it changes our ability to get to the port on the same day.
  17. You got a great price on the tour. Our 8 hour tour continues to be $93 and the 6 hour tour shows as $78.
  18. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Much to be grateful for!
  19. Thank you so much. Didn't realize we had to cancel first but now I know. Was able to rebook the refreshment package for the kids and saved almost $60!
  20. Looks like the refreshment package is slightly lower for our Anthem cruise. Tried to book it and getting ERROR message. Will try tomorrow. No changes to 3 night dining or deluxe beverage package yet.
  21. +2 on the MY Pillow "not a fan club". They just didn't work for us. BUT......the travel size MP is perfect sized and helps for short trips.
  22. Thanks for suggestions everyone. The Osmo Pocket looks like it would check a lot of boxes. And just in time for Black Friday deals!!! @Twangster.....any tips you have on settings on a digital camera would be great. We were at Antelope Canyon (AZ) this summer and our guide changed the settings on our camera and it made a dramatic improvement to the pictures.
