From past experience, in addition to the food coma, we have also experienced the booze coma.  One thing we find distasteful is watered down drinks because the ice melts when we’re not swilling them fast enough.  In an effort to slow the process down, I requested of our Genie that any drinks brought/ordered to our stateroom have no ice and to also keep us stocked in ice.  AND I purchased these:

On our last cruise, we had an owners suite and took our son and his girlfriend.  I had an almost fatal accident in not realizing that they are not neat and tidy with their belongings as my hubster and me.  They were situated in the “living room” which was between us and the balcony. One of the things I love to do is rise super early to see the sunrise/enjoy the balcony while it is quiet.  Just a me and the sea sort of thing.  The first morning I popped out of bed and went to the go out on the balcony and in the complete darkness, tripped over a pair of shoes, pirouetted and took out a side chair with a whole bunch of clothing that actually ended up cushioning my fall, got back up, snagged my foot in more clothing and went down again.  I think a somersault was involved, but was too shocked and laughing too hard to be fully sure.  Needless to say, I didn’t try to do that again for the rest of the trip.
While they are not cruising with us this time, I bought battery tea lights to help traverse nighttime wanderings anyway ?

If you Google 'Genie tip,' you'll see the gamut.
Tipping is so personal, and i will say there is no appropriate or inappropriate tip. If there was, Royal would suggest an amount, but they don't.
I learned long ago to tip whatever is in your heart and what you can sleep with at night. And then kiss it up to God. There will always be people who tip more and people who tip less. It's not worth the stress of wondering if you tipped too little or that you can no longer afford something else because you broke your bank tipping what some random stranger on the interweb decided was a "normal" tip.
I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but also in my experience, I've learned that the people willing to give you a total amount tipped are the ones who are either very generous (misers don't tend to shout their tips from the rooftop) or don't put their tip into perspective. Tip amount is meaningless to me without specifying # of people, # of days, and how high or low maintenance you tend to be or if any out-of-the-norm courtesies were extended to you.
That said, we tipped $1K. (Kidding!)

Is it too early to start a live blog?  I heard a rumor that people start their blogs early here?
i actually have one started and mistakenly posted my “received the genie questionnaire here by mistake.  What a rookie mistake!

So to keep the information flowing smoothly, I will mention again (since I apparently posted it in the other thread) that we received our Genie letter last night!  It arrived 34 days out.  I can now quit obsessively checking my email every 3 minutes?
    WE HAVE ALLAN!
Over the past month, since turning in our questionnaire, we have been compiling an outline of possibilities, wants and even a couple of leave off the lists.  For all that, it was not a very big list...Allan did thank us in this initial email for turning in our questionnaire.
We emailed the list we made tonight.  Hopefully it doesn’t make his eyes cross and will help make his job easier...
From what we’ve read about him, we have hit the Genie Jackpot.  I’d love to hear your favorite memories of Allan!

Trying to convince Batman to do Oasis SC so I'm here and following. ? Of course this means canceling our NCL Encore Haven, and I'm quickly losing time as final is due 1/13. ?

Oh, and we're reformed DCL Concierge cruisers also. Their pricepoint just does not justify the perks (or lack thereof, really). ?

The Yumster and I spend a lot of time laughing and being absurd.  I found a copy of the initial questionaire and typed it into a document to compile our answers at our leisure.  Added bonus, it draws out the excitement of the cruise, because as we all know, you board the ship and it seems like you blink your eyes and you are already disembarking.
To the question, "If you could invite 3 people-famous or infamous—throughout history for a dinner party, who would you invite?"
My answers (and I know they really don't mean anything, but it is fun to think about...):

    Lucille Ball for laughs.

    Leonardo DaVinci for intellectual thoughts.

Tom Selleck for eye candy. ?

What are some of your dinner guest picks?

In early 2018, while on Adventure of the Seas partaking in a few adult beverages, the hubster (who I affectionately call Yummy) and I booked our upcoming cruise in February with Next Cruise. Typically, we book suites of one sort or another.  This time, in our "happy & relaxed" state, we chose an Aqua Theater Suite on Oasis of Seas, (choking somewhat on the cost!) as a surprise for our daughter for her graduation from high school. (This will be her first cruise).  At that time, perks were mentioned, but as the cruise was two years out, we did not remember what was said.  (We claim to this day it was not the fault of our refreshments.)
We are almost down to the ninety day mark and we've been reading/watching videos for every scrap of information we can find about Star Class/Royal Genies.  The Live Blogs are a particular favorite. We have combed social media for pics of the drydock process.  Our excitement knows no bounds and we are like little kids who have had too much candy!  I have a tote started with items to go, computer lists... we have vowed to not OVERPACK.  We have vowed to be ORGANIZED for our Genie so he/she will not have to struggle with what we hope to achieve.  I hope to Live Blog and will probably start out doing so. After the first day...who knows...
I sent this GIF to my daughter this morning with the fact that there will be less than 60 Star Class passengers on board:

We would never act this way, but I do wonder if we will feel this way....BAHAHAHA
I would like to thank @WAAAYTOOO, @SweetPea and @Lovetocruise2002 for all the great information they have provided!
I hope to provide an account of what our experiences are for future Star Class cruisers.

Could you please move this to the Live Blog section?  I thought that was where I started this, but apparently I was wrong!
And somehow I started two threads...what a colossal newbie!

One of our highlights today was a private bridge tour! Access on DCL was restricted to all guests. So we were very happy to hear we would get a chance to visit it on Anthem.
We were allowed to take pictures but no recording of video. We spent about 30 minutes with the 2nd officer and were treated to champagne and other beverages. As traffic was light and weather conditions optimal only a 1st and 2nd officer along with a spotter are required on the bridge.
Some interesting trivia: the ship carries 3000 tonne of fuel which = 3,000,000 liters.
This was a great star class perk for our family! Loved every minute of it.

Interesting. Since the Genie was restocking the drinks, that sort of confirms that he (the Genie) procured those drinks on his own.  Normally there is a bar attendant who takes care of the drinks.  Since Royal only has Coke products, I think your Genie got those Pepsi’s for you.  Great service on his part.

Please don't take this the wrong way...
I really think that Star class blogs are a double edge sword.  On one hand, it gives you really great information on what you can expect, on the other hand, you cannot help but to make comparisons.
From what I have learned about Star Class over the last 2-3 years, the basics (saving seats, all inclusive drink/dining package, laundry, etc.) of the program is consistent.  Everything else is not.  All the "special experiences" you hear about, all the pics that people post, it all comes down to Genie and ship and what individual guests ask for.  If we did not know about the experiences of others, we would not know what to expect or ask for and the experience would be great because the basics of the program alone is better than Sea or Sky class.  At the same time, we hear about others and while knowledge is helpful, we expect the same sort of experiences as others.  When this doesn't happen, disappointment sets in.
In my opinion, this is where Royal drops the ball on Star Class because the experience should be the same across all the ships in the fleet that offer it.  But is is not.  Even the Genies admit that what they can or cannot do really depends what ship they are on.  What I am trying to say is that with your last few days left, don't worry what your experience is like compared to others.  Instead, ask yourself if you are enjoying it.  If you are, then let it be that.  Your experience, while not the same as what you may or may not have heard, isn't any worse if you are still loving and enjoying every minute of it.  New Genie or not, it's still Star Class and that's the best!  And you're still getting way better value than DCL lol.  That's my two cents. ?

Thanks for all of the detailed information.  Although we do not get on Anthem until FEB, I am tricking myself into thinking we are on now.  Your postings help me with that delusion.
During the early to late evening, if you could notice where some of the better dancing opportunities are it would be very helpful.  I think we have focused on the Music Hall, Boleros, and even the Schooner Bar in the past.  We are most interested where they set up the live bands.  We can pretty much dance to anything, so we are mostly interested where the live bands are.  For some reason Two70 is never a real option (even though it could be quite a large dance floor).
Any scouting is greatly appreciated ...

    Andres goes above and beyond
In our genie questionnaire I mentioned that Pepsi was a favorite drink of mine. Andres said he would try to get me Pepsi even though I assured him I was fine with coke.  Look what was waiting for me.  ?
