Norwegian Cruises to Allow Unvaccinated Passengers Starting in September

Only the people in the room that bids and wins the bid would be officially moved to the suite.  They’d also be the only ones who have the suite benefits and the only ones who could use the suite only areas. Only the people moved to the Star Class suite would be refunded their beverage, zoom, and dining packages.  The people from the other room could sleep in the suite, but they wouldn’t receive any of the suite benefits.

BUT, at least in my case, they have allowed me to change rooms within the SAME category that I was Royal Up’ed to after I called and asked to switch to an open room that I found in that category.  I didn’t mention I was Royal Up’ed when I called.  I just said I’m in this room and wanted to check on moving to that room and they made the change.

Yep.  That sofa bed is not that easy to navigate around or to make back into a sofa.  You are spot on!

Yes, the sofa bed would be the reason I’d still like twice a day service.  When we are not traveling with a third/fourth person in the room, once a day would be more than enough.  I can and do perform basic cleanup myself.  I hang towels to dry for reuse and don’t use ice.  And we are NOT slobs.  Our stuff is put out of the way so housekeeping doesn’t have to work around it.  Might be silly but I would be embarrassed for our room steward to come into a messy room.  Mom would say “you weren’t raised in a barn!!!”

I would have no problem with cleaning once a day.  Make my bed, give me fresh towels, fill my ice bucket and then bye-bye until tomorrow.
The lack of daily service in hotels is a BIG pet peeve of mine.  I acknowledge that there are supply chain issues which could limit the availability of products but I am highly suspicious of the claimed unprecedented shortage of labor.  Of course I realize that during the plague and immediately afterwards, there were labor shortages but now ?  I believe it is truly more that the hotels are trying to KEEP their labor minimized to save money and use the "pandemic" as an excuse.  The same goes for many other industries.  Many industries did this to themselves with the ridiculous vax requirements (airlines...I'm looking at you !) which have been a spectacular failure and have done nothing but hurt their businesses/ [military] readiness.
But regarding cruising, I have no problem with only daily service.  I don't really want the room attendants popping in arbitrarily anyway.  I usually just keep the "sleeping it off" sign posted after my room has been serviced in the AM.

Our favorite decks  on an oasis class ship when not in a crown loft are decks 8 and 12 ..… deck 8 is same floor as Central Park ……….deck 12  is 2 floors below the pool.   But we’ve also been happy on deck 6 ….. deck 6 is higher up than you think on an oasis class ship.
You definitely don’t want deck 14 just below the pool deck.  The one time we stayed just below the pool deck, you started heard chairs being drug across the floor very early in the morning every single day and sometimes late at night too.

Friday their flight was cancelled ……… they posted oh well I guess we won’t be going to Disney, but at least we’ll make the cruise with the flight they changed us to for Saturday.
Saturday they posted that their flight was cancelled again and the only option they had left to to fly here and make the cruise was flying to Boston first and hoping the only flight that night from there to here wasn’t cancelled ………. There were no options to get them here Sunday morning ………
Saturday afternoon, they posted the whole family was piling in the car and driving to Florida from Virginia.
In the current environment of constant flight cancellations and delays ….. I wouldn’t trust a same day flight

I actually don't know a single smoker where I live and everyone I know that cruises hates to be around smoke.  I don't think it is as small as you think it is.  Marriott doesn't allow smoking anywhere near your room and I hardly ever see people in the smoking sections that have gotten smaller and less of them over the years.  Yet their resorts are still packed.  Disney laughed at smokers not coming to their parks.  They don't need smokers, that place is packed with families and the majority of people with kids don't smoke.  So they also had less and less and smaller and smaller smoking sections because they didn't need them and then got rid of them.  Everyone I know was extremely happy to see them go away.
Only 14% of people smoke.  I imagine a large % of that 14% can't even afford vacations.

And Disney has laughed and moved on.

About 3 months ago, when we renewed ours …… we paid the extra $60 each for expedited processing, plus the extra $17 each for express shipping ……. We all had our new passports (books & cards) back in just over 3 weeks.
