USCG Teacher reacted to teddy in Pizza issue put to rest
What do we do with all these pitchforks and torches now?

USCG Teacher reacted to PL8SWPR in Pizza issue put to rest
From Michael Bayley (Facebook)
🍕Pizza ! 🍕Pizza ! Everywhere ! A couple of weeks ago we conducted one of frequent small group guest surveys. As usual we asked questions on this n that ! Including customer thoughts on $ charges for Pizza ! The question was posted with the result that many emails and comments were sent !
The survey said 80 per cent of guests were opposed, 20 per cent of guests said they would still go for 🍕Pizza with a charge, 25 per cent of guests surveyed said they would consider other cruise lines. To calm all our 🍕Pizza lovers don’t worry we are not charging for 🍕Pizza.

USCG Teacher got a reaction from teddy in Royal Beach Club-any updates?
Well done. I see you're a Mark Twain fan as well. 👍

USCG Teacher reacted to OCSC Mike in Royal Beach Club-any updates?
Thanks, that makes sense.
I've spent more than enough time on forums (both for work and pleasure) over the past 20 or so years to know better.

Yes, share and agree 100% with @smokeybandit's rationale.

No worries, you absolutely shouldn't feel stupid. Twain has offered some famous advice (or at least it has been attributed to him!) about avoiding arguments with certain people. You followed it perfectly. I don't want to violate the board's TOS, so I'll leave it to be Googled if so desired.

USCG Teacher reacted to OCSC Mike in Royal Beach Club-any updates?
Thanks. I'm also honest and secure enough to admit I don't get the reference, lol.
Obviously I know who Mark Twain is but the comment went over my head. I'm hoping the explanation is something I don't feel stupid about, but if it is, won't be the first time.

USCG Teacher reacted to Yo2slick in Luggage Question
We always use TSA approved locks on our luggage.
-
USCG Teacher reacted to smokeybandit in Luggage Question
There's no cons to locking luggage. Locks aren't just a theft deterrent. They also prevent bags from opening on their own (and potentially having stuff fall out or get wet in the rain) if they get hung up on some corner or otherwise stuck somehow.

USCG Teacher got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Southbound Alaska cruise - coming home from Vancouver
Silly as this sounds, @Pattycruise is right. Amtrak offers 6 times daily service from Vancouver to Seattle, but only the 6:35 AM and 5:45 PM departures are actually the Cascades train, the other four departures are Amtrak's "Thruway bus" service which is both slightly more expensive and less comfortable than the train.

USCG Teacher reacted to CrimsonCruiser in 150 central park bread
Thanks! l feel more like myself when I have colorful hair so I'm always on the lookout for interesting color combos. A lot of people got barbie vibes but I was for sure thinking mermaid 😅

USCG Teacher got a reaction from OCSC Mike in Coastal Kitchen question for Suite guests
Same, my 8 and 11 year olds definitely get multiple Shirley Temples a day using theirs!

USCG Teacher reacted to OCSC Mike in Coastal Kitchen question for Suite guests
My 9-year-old niece orders her own D drinks... your kids should definitely have your perks (well, the underage version of them).

USCG Teacher reacted to AlmondFarmer in Is there a 30 minute internet package so I can check-in online for a flight the next day?
Offer to buy somebody with internet package a beer. Ask to borrow their phone while they drink it. This results in 8-15 minutes of internet for $7.99 plus 18% gratuity.

USCG Teacher reacted to Ampurp85 in 150 central park bread
Oooh just a couple of months until I have that bread. I'm doing 150CP twice for the bread and cheesecake.
Also @CrimsonCruiser I love the braids, mine are always purple, and people love them as well.
-
USCG Teacher reacted to CrimsonCruiser in 150 central park bread
Thanks! Everyone on the ship (crew and guests) loved them too 😅
Alas, I'm back on land. While we had the internet package I was too lazy and often tired to make any posts while on board 😅

Unrelated to the bread (which does indeed look delicious!), may I just say that your braids look awesome? Hope you're enjoying yourself!

USCG Teacher reacted to Gilley in New Onboard Activity: Pickleball Clinic
I’m interested in learning to play pickle ball. Not sure if I’m willing to cough up $70/. Maybe I can get the basics from YouTube as it seems that is what the $70 will cover.

USCG Teacher reacted to CrimsonCruiser in 150 central park bread
It was a success! And I didn't even have to pay for it! I got weird looks for asking but they gave me the bread with a to go top and I took it down to the main dining room to enjoy on the last night

USCG Teacher reacted to Ampurp85 in Royal UP terminology changed?
They changed it from "pending" to "submitted" a while ago. I think "accepted" is now when you win.
-
USCG Teacher reacted to OCSC Mike in internet for owner's suite guests on oasis class ships
Yes, each person staying in a Sky Class suite (like an OS) on Oasis class gets free internet for the entire cruise.
Those are indeed mass marketing e-mails as you suspected.

USCG Teacher got a reaction from teddy in Guaranteed Balcony state room
I think this may be a situation where some wires might be crossing, and perhaps even the rep may be trying to do you a solid by being very truthful regarding your situation. As I understand the system (and it is quite possible that I completely misunderstand the system!) could your GTY balcony still net you an OV balcony? Sure. Is it likely to? Almost certainly not. If there's an OV balcony GTY category, you're in a tier below them to be placed in an OV, and the price paid is reflective of that lower priority. As far as I can figure, the pecking order would be:
1. Those who paid to select their OV balcony room
2. OV Balcony GTYs
3. (Maybe?) Those paying to Royal Up from a neighborhood balcony to an OV balcony
4. Balcony GTY
The odds of cabin selection making it all the way down to tier 4 AND then having you be one of the lucky ones in that group to be assigned an OV seems infinitesimally small. Not impossible, just hit the lottery level unlikely. Again, this could possibly be 100% incorrect, but it is how the system seems to makes sense in my mind's eye, but there are scores of members here who are both more well versed with RCI's methodology and far more eloquent than I am that can hopefully confirm or deny this!

I would never argue that they aren't great about communicating things properly!

USCG Teacher reacted to Matt in Walkie Talkie
I re-read the posts, and I really don't think there was any malice with the comments. People were just trying to explain why walkie talkies are annoying to others.
