  1. I have no interest in the Chef's Table at full price, but for half price where do I sit?
  2. @Sarah M Welcome to the RCB forums! Yes, I agree. I would love to do the 11 Night Canadian Adventure cruise. Last fall we did Boston to Quebec City and then Quebec City back to Boston back-to-back on the Dawn. Quebec was awesome and I would love to go back.
  3. We would never leave cookies behind! We take them back to the room for later. ?
  4. Yes, as you probably figured I wasn't thinking WJ. But a very good point by you. Not trying to get you back up on your preaching box, but inconsiderate people exist. There is enough garbage and waste in the world today, if we would all do our part...
  5. Bummer as we are again sailing on the Anthem! The OP posted a price of $4.99. Is that correct? If so, it is a lot cheaper than I thought. Maybe I'll try it. Does anyone know if I purchase a WOW band on Anthem, can I then reuse it next year on Harmony? Or are the Anthem bands all locked down to just that ship?
  6. @ultron87 & @tarrkid Welcome to the RCB forums. @ultron87 & @tarrkid Thanks for list of games!
  7. I have done Canada several times out of NYC, but usually in October and there was no problem. I would think July would potentially have even smoother seas. That is unless you run across a storm, or even worse a Hurricane. FYI, We are going again this October 24th on the Anthem. Looking forward to it.
  8. @AmyCT622 Welcome to the RCB forums! We find the AC to be fine on most ships but admittedly have never been on the Adventure.
  9. @Gregg & @tzb Welcome to the RCB forums! @WAAAYTOOO Completely agree on both accounts. I like to watch the Bionic Bar when it is working, which is almost never! And Cecile will not even let me book Wonderland to try it. She just doesn't like the looks of the menu.
  10. Agreed. But right or wrong, I like to try new food items on a cruise that I wouldn't elsewhere. I pretty much eat anything, but sometimes I'll come across something I just can't eat. It's unfortunate but at least it doesn't happen often - almost never these days.
  11. I have never experienced a MDR dinner that forced us into less than a 2 hour slot, unless it is late night and the restaurant is closing (and often they will tell you in advance of being seated)...
  12. My sister-in-law travels with us often (she is also Diamond) and is vegan. We have always had good luck at the MDR. I think the key is talking to the Maitre'd or a Head Waiter on the very first day of the cruise. That way it gets properly documented and in almost all cases, once we do that, she has a good experience. At dinner, once we sit down our waiter will come to us and ask if anyone if someone has special requirements. Once we say that Dee is vegan, they will offer her suggestions or she will tell the waiter what she wants, can or can't have, and they work something out together. She is usually very satisfied. Also every night, sometime during our meal, a special waiter will stop at our table to talk to her about her next night's meal. This is a very nice gesture, but in practice it doesn't always work out every time. Her best luck is to just work out a meal with our assigned waiter. Nowadays we usually do My Time dining, so that waiter may not be the same each night. It is good to see going forward she will have a printed menu to work off of - yay RCCL... I should also add that she has never been to Chops, but has had good luck at Jamie's.
  13. @Cat mom Have you seen deep discounts on specialty restaurants? I have never seen this before. Maybe I have never been in the right place at the right time. We booked a 3N dining package for our OCT cruise and have not seen that price drop at all. Where on the ship would we look?
  14. @TeddyBear72 Hello and welcome to the RCB forums! Sorry, I can't answer your question. Did you try the almighty Google?
  15. @Paul L. Welcome to the RCB forums! I am not sure about "Tranquility of the Seas". The first thing I think of is NASA, Apollo, & the Moon...
  16. @bmatrose Seems like you have a good relationship with your TA. You should just ask them if you can stack all three discounts (TA's lower price, myVEGAS discount, & NextCruise certificates)? Here is a snip from a NextCruise doc which states they are combinable. I find having to transfer a cert to a TA is somewhat of a PIA, but worth it if you really want that extra discount. Personally, I stopped doing this awhile ago.
  17. @Phillip Diamond Plus Welcome to the RCB forums! Geeze, I didn't know there was a RCCL ship out there that didn't server Diamond Drinks in some sort of lounge. @twangster What do you say about Empress?
  18. If you have the UDP, do they still charge $10 for a second entree?
  19. Did it seem like the Next Cruise desk personnel had access to un-published cruise schedules?
  20. @bokx2 Welcome to the RCB forums. I too am looking for a 2021 cruise. It will be our 25th. I've been looking at British Isle cruises in 2020 and am hoping 2021 looks the same. Not sure when the first schedule will be released.
  21. I don't see why food quantity should be an issue. My personal guess is if you stay within the normal 2 hour time-slot, are nice to the staff, order all of your items at the same time, and eat with reasonable manners - all the normal considerate stuff - you should be fine. I have seen two main entrees many times in the past. And I have seen groups split multiple entrees. I don't ever recall anyone ordering three, but I bet if you ask up front and offer to skip the appetizer that they would be happy to make it work and squeeze in that appetizer too. Again this is just my opinion as I have never seen it done. The other thing I have seen quite often is if I have trouble making an entree decision between two items, they sometimes just go ahead and bring me both. But that was a while ago and I think these days you actually have to ask the waiter. I once ordered two escargot appetizers, two escargot appetizers for my meal, and two escargot appetizers for desert. The staff laughed, but got the idea that I really like escargot. They brought me an unlimited supply and did manage to fit in an actual entree which they picked for me. It was actually pretty fun and my waiter made me feel like a king. When he brought me the escargot as the entree he announced it as such, and then laughed a bit. Then he actually brought them out as my desert and again announced them as desert, I think we both laughed. It was probably the most memorable dinner I have ever had on a ship. I will never forget it for sure.
  22. Yeah, this is a bit of a nuisance. My wife Ceil works at RISD and picked up some glass straws at a student sale. Glass is great as it adds no taste whatsoever. She has a case and brings them everywhere with her. Me, I haven't used them since I was a kid (yes, at Rexall). I guess I am old too like @FManke. I must say I do have one exception to my rule - that's when I drink an occasional milkshake. (or Coffee Cabinet - a RI thing).
  23. How about Rexall Drug Stores - they had the same paper cone cups. The root beer was to die for. I guess they used a very sugary syrup.
  24. @RenCruzes & @Lawsmygame Hi and welcome both to the RCB forums! Keep in mind that the Serenade was launched in 2002 and is only 90K Tons. Which Carnival ships are you comparing it to?
  25. @Newbies Welcome to the RCB forums! Yes, if you are comfortable with the price you should purchase it. Like @emsff02 said, you can cancel anytime w/o penalty. So, you could then choose to re-book if the price goes down or not.
