  1. @GizaGaza Hi and welcome to the RCB forums! I am jealous! Your plan sounds great. My wife and I will be at our 25th in two years. I am hoping for a British Isles cruise, but we will see... As for Falmouth, I think getting off and walking around is OK. Sure be cautious. Are you sailing with anyone else you know? If so, you would probably be safer walking as a bigger group. Sign up for the FB group for your cruise and add your cruise info to the master cruise list on this forum so you can see who else from here might be on your sailing. Maybe you can meet people who would like to stroll around with you. I would try to book all of your shows in advanced on the Cruise Planner if you can. Then as soon as you get on the ship, book all of your dining (UDP) around your show choices. This will firm up your evening schedule pretty quick and will hopefully eliminate any scheduling conflicts. We go to Alaska the first week of July. We think it is best. We were in Juno on the 4th of July once which was awesome to see their parade.
  2. So, if you try to re-book after say an itinerary change where a port was dropped and the port/tax fee went down, RCL somehow thinks you are obligated to pay for that port that they sort of tricked you into paying for even though you will never see it? That's crazy... On NCL Dawn we were on the St. Lawrence river last year when a port was cancelled due to environmental sensitivities. They refunded the related port charges right then and there to our on board ship account!
  3. I would ask about getting a refund in advance. I would doubt if he takes the truck ride to the top he would get a full refund. I think there must be a cost to that ride. To be sure, call RCCL to ask them. Keep in mind that if you book the excursion through the cruise planner that there is no cost to cancel it for whatever reason. For me (a bit scared of heights) the worst part of the experience is waiting to go while standing on the edge of the platform. It is high up! I had no problem on the practice run, that was easy for me. But the zip-line itself is real fun once you get going. I say if you get a chance, it is worth doing at least once. I know, it is not cheap. You will probably get your best price booking in advance through the cruise planner. Keep checking prices and if it goes down, just cancel and rebook to get the better price.
  4. We have been on many cruises on many ships on many lines. I have never had a mattress problem. There were a few times Ceil did ask for a softer mattress from our attendant who was able to satisfy her. Actually, she is much more likely to ask for a softer pillow than a softer mattress. That she has asked for many times...
  5. Hi @MathiaasO and welcome to the RCB forums. You should be able to do that without a problem. Yes, it would be like you will be MTD dining for the night. If you have a chance when you first get on the ship, schedule that one night in advance so you will have less to worry about during your vacation...
  6. We love Chops too. Now a days we buy the 3N Dining Package and just go to Chops all three nights. So good...
  7. So from your original post, was there some verbiage in your docs concerning the drink carry on policy? What are you saying the OP should argue for?
  8. My wife will not drink Dasani but loves Aquafina. We find that it really is hit and miss on RCL. On our last Anthem cruise we ordered the bottle water package and received Poland Spring. But what you see on the ship and even from bar to bar can vary. Of course, the Coke Freestyle machines are probably not what you are looking for. Since you care about your water I am sure you know that it really depends on just where the water was bottled. That varies too. @tchampion Welcome to the blog and good luck in your quest...
  9. @WannaCruise. Did you see anywhere how many Thrill Waterpark tickets are included with the cabana purchase? It says below "a" Full Day Pass which leads me to believe you get only one ticket. Bummer...
  10. @WannaCruise From my post above, how many Thrill Waterpark tickets are included with the cabana? Thrill Cabanas are for 6 people while all other cabanas are for 8 people, is that correct?
  11. Can someone tell me if that includes 1 full day thrill waterpark pass or 6 full day thrill waterpark passes?
  12. @Winterh8r. I am very sorry to hear about your situation and hope you husband is feeling better soon.
  13. I still don't get it. Maybe I need to take one of your seminars! How do you find the latest pricing? Do you constantly call someone for this info? Can this info be found on-line? How often do you check? Who do you call to get the re-pricing applied? How do you convince them to do this for you? These are all non-refundable rates correct? So are you actually cancelling and re-booking? Do you ever get turned down even though the price actually went down? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for your help!
  14. @Cruisin' Queen and @chrisb732 and @KD412. Hello and welcome to the RCB forums! We have done over thirty cruises and I can only remember getting re-priced several times. I find that it hard to get TAs to admit the price actually went down. The times they did they wanted to upgrade me instead of giving me a money refund. I wish there was a way to do re-pricing directly through a website, but there is probably an obvious reason that this is not allowed. Yes, this happens, but usually if you have proof (like a picture of their very own website) they tend to move on the price. But, I still find it hard to do. And don't get me started about the convoluted way they price FREE cruises when using credit card points. They seem to have their very own specially higher price list for that. @chrisb732 In the case you mention, who did you book with? Detailed tips on how to do this from @Lovetocruise2002 would be welcomed...
  15. RCL is looking to prove you wrong. We'll know tonight at 6PM when they release their next official update. Maybe RCL is willing to sail with just passengers who can drive to the port and have already conceded their losses for these cruises. As it stands now, it looks like all of the scheduled cruises leaving FL on Wednesday have been shortened. So they weren't going to be big money makers anyway...
  16. Wow sounds great. Enjoy! and safe travels...
  17. @kittysoul When you walk in to the DL during the "event" (4:30PM - 8PM) the Diamond Concierge is usually sitting right there next to the main entrance. For two reasons I think; 1st to help Diamond members with requests as they walk in, and 2nd to keep an eye on who is coming in. Assuming there is no one inspecting sea passes at the main DL entrance the concierge will see who comes in and can check them against his list of Diamond members on board. Our experience is that the concierge will figure it out sooner than later. We had family/friends come in about a half dozen times and only once were they not caught (or asked to leave). And getting caught is somewhat embarrassing. Kind of sad, but on our last cruise an elderly lady came in with her daughter. The story goes that the lady's husband had recently passed and her daughter took his place on the cruise. The lady was diamond, but her daughter was not. The lady argued her case but in the end the concierge would not allow her daughter into the DL. In this case he enforced the rules without exception. The lady's story was probably true, but my guess is that the concierge has heard all of the stories before...
  18. Yes, I did see that too. So I guess that is how RCL gets away with doing whatever they want...
  19. Looking at next to the last paragraph I see this... It says NO refund!!!
  20. Same goes for the bars around the pools. You can take them into the water with you, but must hand them over to get a drink from a waiter.
  21. Wow, what an awesome price. Hope you have a great time! Is that for an outside balcony? Curious, who did you book with?
  22. I'm there often! I'm a big fan of Wright's Dairy Farm, Ye Olde Fish & Chips, and the Stadium Theatre. Love the GOAT and the HOODIE too...
