  1. Let's hope the rumours are correct, not all of us want huge mega ships with many thousands of passengers, we love the Royal experience but prefer the smaller ships. Kids have flown the nest so no need for all the bells and whistles.
  2. Disappointing not to see any other Royal ships on the list, still hoping that one day we may get an additional ship out of Southampton.
  3. We feel the same in the UK re Anthem, same shows, same itineries. Even a different Quantum class ship would be welcome, or change the shows on Anthem.
  4. As we have to kill time waiting for a late afternoon or early evening transatlantic flight a later departure fom the ship would be great, but accept we're part of a small minority.
  5. Sorry, not sure, we weren't the first to arrive so it's safe to say many arrived before 11.00
  6. We arrived just before 11 for our 11:30 boarding on Anthem, it was very well organised, porters waiting to pick up your cases. Parking was directly opposite the ship. Just remember to print out your permit, we forgot the first time
  7. You'll probably find the prices are about the same, Royals sales are never what they claim to be. If you get OBC, it's normally because the price of the cruise has been increased
  8. Not for the first time recently Royal Caribbean Group has oversold one of it's ships. https://www.cruisehive.com/celebrity-cruise-ship-oversold-six-months-before-sailing/99276 Thet really do need to sort their IT out
  9. Do the changes mean people in the UK who booked via a US travel agent will no longer be able to benefit from repricing?
  10. As an alternative Celebrity is sailing there, https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/itinerary-search?sailStartDate=2024-04-01&sailEndDate=2024-10-31&dateToggle=M&portsOfCall=YOK
  11. Should be a lifetime ban for any family that gets "asked" to vacate the ship mid cruise.
  12. The UK prices include the 18% gratuity upfront, does the US price include them or add them when you checkout? Might be a reason for the difference, or that Royal can get away with charging higher prices in the UK market.
  13. We booked a GTY junior suite on Anthem as we figured they're all in reasonable locations we'd be happy with. It saved us nearly £200 each.
  14. Yes you should be able to, most ships have both 110V and 220V outlets.
  15. Not sure that's an option in Belgium, certainly isn't in the UK
  16. Depends where you're sailing from. This is from the FAQ on their website. The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings originating from North America or the Caribbean is twenty-one (21). The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings originating in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is twenty-one (21). The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is eighteen (18). The minimum age to consume alcohol at all private destinations remains twenty-one (21) without regard to where the sailing originated.
  17. Highly unlikely but I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I'm sure someone on the boards will be sailing on her when she resumes service.
  18. I assume that as they are increasing the number of rooms each attendant has to cover they'll be reducing the number of attendants. That concerns me more than only having the room serviced once a day, the attendants work hard to support their families at home, sadly a significant number of them may be looking for alternative employment.
  19. On our recent Vision cruise you could order 2 entrees, as you say only an additional lobster tail had an upcharge. You could order 2 entrees on lobster night, our friends did, he ordered lobster and steak, and gave his lobster to his wife, so she got 2 lobsters without the additional charge.
  20. Unlikely they'll deploy an Oasis class for the first winter season (should they decide to go year round), more likely to be a middling to smaller ship. But hey, anything's better than nothing.
  21. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2023/02/carnival-cruise-line-brings-back-the-paper-daily-program/ Are you listening Royal, many people prefer the paper version.
  22. According to Cruise Mapper she left Cadiz this morning, just in time for the arrival of Mariner of the Seas
  23. Deck 13 shows the perfect storm, flowrider and explorer dunes for my September sailing
