  1. Did you have to call them to get it done…or did it update automatically? Just wondering if the promo points are just delayed.
  2. No cost at CVS. They have my insurance info and I think they bill them…if no insurance, then the cost is picked up by the state. I’m also doing a B2B…then home for two weeks…then another B2B…then home for a week…then another B2B. We are NOT crazy! We are Cruisaholics and proud of it! Have a great time!
  3. I had the test done yesterday at CVS in central NJ. 9:20am it was completed, and they called me about twenty minutes later to tell me it was negative. At noon I received an email from CVS advising me to log into the MyChart app for my result. The complete report was there and I printed a copy (actually multiple copies that I will stick into every pocket, nook and cranny to make sure I have that ‘Golden Ticket’ with me at check-in!). No problems, no issues.
  4. Same tests…same online proctored procedure. I ordered my six pack from eMed, the process was easy and the tests came within days. The expiration dates are all 10/5/2021 with a production date of 2/3/2021. According to eMed, the FDA has now approved the kits for one year from production…so the new expy date would be 2/3/2022…at least some lot numbers. I still can’t find definitive information on this being a blanket approval or just individual test lots. I leave on the Oasis tomorrow so I had scheduled a test at CVS two weeks ago, as soon as appointments opened for yesterday. Had it done…CVS called within the hour to tell me it was negative, then sent the email about an hour after that. I also did the eMed test. I started at 11:00am. Thanks to all the info shared by others, I pretty much knew what to expect. I used an iPad (held inside a napkin holder so I could tilt it forward) and was ready with my ID. My call connected immediately and the person was very clear and friendly. The test was done without an issue. It seemed the proctor was able to control my camera and reversed it so that the scan would work and my ID could be read. Fifteen minutes later I was connected to another person who concluded I tested negative. I received the email from eMed and it was on my Navica app within minutes. Ready to go! Can’t wait….
  5. No. I’m still in the crown loft suite. Any upgrade would be to a significantly more expensive suite.
  6. I did re-price the room…but that was weeks before I put in the RoyalUp bid.
  7. I just received an email from RoyalUp titled…Reservation Modification. It says ‘this email is to let you know that we’ve cancelled your requested RoyalUp upgrade due to a change in your reservation.’ The bid was for a cruise on Sept 26, which is the second half of a b2b. Nothing has been changed on my reservation…as far as I know. Anyone get a similar cancellation email…or know why?
  8. Can you access it by opening the email that was sent to confirm your bids were received? Modify/Cancel button?
  9. A friend asked me if she was a Cruisaholic because she booked another cruise. She said she did so just because she had an extra test kit and didn’t want to waste it. I told her “Of course not! You’re just frugal!”
  10. I checked in to my Nov 28 cruise this past Monday (90 days out)…I checked the app right after midnight Sunday night/Monday morning and it was available! Got checked in and got an arrival time of 12 noon. Sometimes it happens like this…sometimes it’s later Monday afternoon. Good luck!
  11. Google flights is a good way to compare prices. Check out the different prices for different time of day arrivals. In my opinion, FLL is perfect for the port because it’s so close. You can also figure if a cheaper flight into Miami, combined with the transportation cost to the port, would be better than paying more for the flight into FLL. Good luck!
  12. When the NCL Joy came out as a China-market ship…the casino was tripled in size. Then when they decided to bring her back to the US market, they had to renovate the new ship to remove most of the casino. What a waste.
  13. Royal has been consistent about this. Two day testing is counted as days, not hours. Sail day is day zero. So sailing on a Sunday means testing on Friday or Saturday.
  14. I think he was referring to the online check-in. But it’s always a good thing to keep repeating the current requirements for actual check in at the pier!
  15. I make and service all of my future bookings myself. When I need to call for any reason, I usually do it first thing in the morning. I have had several frustrating times in the afternoon where I listen through all the messages, press the different numbers (it would be so much quicker to be able to bypass all that and just press ‘0’ for an agent) only to get to the final message about the call being recorded for accuracy and training…then hearing one phone ring and then….nuttin’. But those instances have been very few and far between. Also, I have been fortunate to never have had a connection bad enough to cause me to hang up. Virtually all of my interactions with RC agents (when we finally connect) have been very satisfactory and pleasant. All have been knowledgeable or quick to check with a supervisor when they didn’t know an answer. But…if I wasn’t lucky enough to be able to spend so much time and effort on my own…I would definitely hook up with a good TA. I’ve been on these forums long enough to see how customers are very happy with MEI.
  16. That’s the first I heard of the immersive virtual reality experience where you walk around with four others. Sounds interesting.
  17. That’s it! I use a photo of myself uploaded from my gallery. Also, if you check-in on the computer, you can just type in the passport numbers and expiration dates. When you check-in for yourself, you can save your credit card number to add it for other guests.
  18. I have changed rooms several times. If I did after I had received my cruise documents with the luggage tags, then a few days after the change, I would receive new cruise documents with the new luggage tags. Keep checking your cruise documents. **If I click on ‘luggage tags’ I keep getting a warning that the link has been compromised and do not continue.
  19. No Zoom app needed. When you log on, they will test your system audio, video and connectivity. Make sure your volume is turned up. Remember the QR code is on the actual box, not the one on the sliding cover. Hyperhot, hypersmart, fiancée…three words that go together very well!
  20. Some couples are doing that. Booking connecting balconies. More room…two bathrooms, lots of storage space…no arguing over the TV. Plus being solo in a balcony will get you four points per night.
  21. Do you have the option of scheduling a test at a CVS, Walgreens, walk-in clinic or other similar venue that’s near your destination in the US? Maybe schedule more than one location to be safe…you can always cancel the other. Is it possible for you (or someone in the US) to order the test and have it delivered to your hotel and have the hotel hold it for you until your arrival. It’s also probable that as time goes on…protocols will change, available testing will become more accessible or cruise lines will recognize the difficulty for their international guests and make quick testing at the port an option. Good luck.
  22. I thought the tests being offered through the Optum store were more expensive than ordering directly from eMed because they had a much later expiration date. It also seems their delivery is somewhat bumpy. I ordered my six pack from eMed, received a confirmation email…and another when they shipped. They arrived quickly. No issues. What is the benefit by ordering them from Optum?
  23. There should actually be a public service warning on those door hangers. Something like…Warning! Having morning coffee and pastries delivered to your cabin so that you can sit and consume them on your balcony while the ship glides through the water can be extremely habit forming and result in your becoming hopelessly addicted to cruising!
  24. I’m also hoping someone can post their experience at Port Liberty before I go. I'll be there on Sunday. I drive to the port and use the parking garage. My arrival time is 12:30 but I’m in a crown loft suite so I’ll get there early and see what happens. I’ll post how it went when I get on board!
