  1. I just checked. All three of my November cruises still show check in unavailable. I’m hoping they get restored with my original arrival times.
  2. I find the best way to figure out the percentages regarding the drink package is to just keep drinking. Then I don’t care about the cerpentages.
  3. Here’s a topic we can keep track of….curious to see if the count progresses over time. *apologies if this is listed elsewhere. Sept 19 Oasis from Port Liberty NJ…2081 passengers. Ship capacity 5600 double occupancy.
  4. Last night at 8pm…sixteen hours before I am due to board…I received an email from RoyalUp telling me my bid for this sailing was ‘Unsuccessful’. First I get the email telling me my bid was cancelled…now the email telling me my bid was unsuccessful. Sort of rubbing it in. What’s next? An email telling me my haircut is ‘old fashioned’?
  5. Oct in NJ is beautiful. On sunny days the temperature can get warm enough to enjoy the beach and at night it can be sweater/windbreaker brisk. Especially on the water. But remember, weather is a fickle thing. Just be prepared.
  6. With ‘Cruise with Confidence’…guests can cancel up to 48hrs before sail date without any reason and receive a future cruise credit. I believe refunds can be obtained if guests cancel when new protocols for their sailing are issued. This is fair because the circumstances of the sailing have been changed since the booking was made.
  7. RC has been having issues with their systems lately. I received the email today telling me to complete the health questionnaire for tomorrow’s cruise. Every time I answer all the questions and press submit…the response is ‘We’ll get you there. Try submitting again’. I’ve done it about a dozen times already with the same result. I keep waiting a longer time in between tries hoping it corrects itself. Sort of reminds me of Albert Einstein’s quote…Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Oh, well…they’ll get me there. But I believe RoyalUp is separate from RC and operates on their own. Maybe similar systems?
  8. Me too! I checked in and got early arrival times on my Nov 7, 14 and 28th cruises. Although the 14th is a b2b and doesn’t really matter, I took the early time because you never know what happens. Now they are all gone. Replaced with the ‘check in opens on (whatever date is 45 days out)’. Hoping Fatima’s prophecy comes to fruition…
  9. YOU forgot!?! YOU!?!? Sheeesh….now I gotta obsess over everything hoping I don’t forget something tomorrow…especially something as important as the ‘Golden Ticket’!
  10. Well then…I guess I’ll be on a first name basis with them in the coming months. Unless they get their issues corrected.
  11. Did you have to call them to get it done…or did it update automatically? Just wondering if the promo points are just delayed.
  12. No cost at CVS. They have my insurance info and I think they bill them…if no insurance, then the cost is picked up by the state. I’m also doing a B2B…then home for two weeks…then another B2B…then home for a week…then another B2B. We are NOT crazy! We are Cruisaholics and proud of it! Have a great time!
  13. I had the test done yesterday at CVS in central NJ. 9:20am it was completed, and they called me about twenty minutes later to tell me it was negative. At noon I received an email from CVS advising me to log into the MyChart app for my result. The complete report was there and I printed a copy (actually multiple copies that I will stick into every pocket, nook and cranny to make sure I have that ‘Golden Ticket’ with me at check-in!). No problems, no issues.
  14. Same tests…same online proctored procedure. I ordered my six pack from eMed, the process was easy and the tests came within days. The expiration dates are all 10/5/2021 with a production date of 2/3/2021. According to eMed, the FDA has now approved the kits for one year from production…so the new expy date would be 2/3/2022…at least some lot numbers. I still can’t find definitive information on this being a blanket approval or just individual test lots. I leave on the Oasis tomorrow so I had scheduled a test at CVS two weeks ago, as soon as appointments opened for yesterday. Had it done…CVS called within the hour to tell me it was negative, then sent the email about an hour after that. I also did the eMed test. I started at 11:00am. Thanks to all the info shared by others, I pretty much knew what to expect. I used an iPad (held inside a napkin holder so I could tilt it forward) and was ready with my ID. My call connected immediately and the person was very clear and friendly. The test was done without an issue. It seemed the proctor was able to control my camera and reversed it so that the scan would work and my ID could be read. Fifteen minutes later I was connected to another person who concluded I tested negative. I received the email from eMed and it was on my Navica app within minutes. Ready to go! Can’t wait….
  15. No. I’m still in the crown loft suite. Any upgrade would be to a significantly more expensive suite.
  16. I did re-price the room…but that was weeks before I put in the RoyalUp bid.
  17. I just received an email from RoyalUp titled…Reservation Modification. It says ‘this email is to let you know that we’ve cancelled your requested RoyalUp upgrade due to a change in your reservation.’ The bid was for a cruise on Sept 26, which is the second half of a b2b. Nothing has been changed on my reservation…as far as I know. Anyone get a similar cancellation email…or know why?
  18. Can you access it by opening the email that was sent to confirm your bids were received? Modify/Cancel button?
  19. A friend asked me if she was a Cruisaholic because she booked another cruise. She said she did so just because she had an extra test kit and didn’t want to waste it. I told her “Of course not! You’re just frugal!”
  20. I checked in to my Nov 28 cruise this past Monday (90 days out)…I checked the app right after midnight Sunday night/Monday morning and it was available! Got checked in and got an arrival time of 12 noon. Sometimes it happens like this…sometimes it’s later Monday afternoon. Good luck!
  21. Google flights is a good way to compare prices. Check out the different prices for different time of day arrivals. In my opinion, FLL is perfect for the port because it’s so close. You can also figure if a cheaper flight into Miami, combined with the transportation cost to the port, would be better than paying more for the flight into FLL. Good luck!
  22. When the NCL Joy came out as a China-market ship…the casino was tripled in size. Then when they decided to bring her back to the US market, they had to renovate the new ship to remove most of the casino. What a waste.
  23. Royal has been consistent about this. Two day testing is counted as days, not hours. Sail day is day zero. So sailing on a Sunday means testing on Friday or Saturday.
  24. I think he was referring to the online check-in. But it’s always a good thing to keep repeating the current requirements for actual check in at the pier!
