  1. Some views from the passenger seat . . . at Jetline Simulation. Very realistic!
  2. Jetline Simulation was terrific! Here's their website -- they were listed on our Excursions List when we were on Enchantment of the Seas in February, but just in case you can't see them there . . . https://jetlinesimulationbahamas.com/
  3. Welcome! I'm the most junior "member" to say that -- so far -- but have sailed on Brilliance once already, and will be boarding her again on November 30. If there's any specific intel you want on Brilliance (or pictures, or impressions), let me know. I'm an 'almost Navy brat -- my dad was Navy, but got out before I was born -- raised with all kinds of nautical terms and standards :-).
  4. LarryR-- that is so kind of you! Kudos to you for trying to locate the "owner." I would suggest that you "encrypt" your email address (by typing out the word "at" for the @ symbol) and perhaps disguising the "2," especially if you put your post on a more public board or an open social media site such as FB or other. I think putting the Cabin # in is great, as that's the first search term I would use if I was looking for something I lost. You could also look at the Roll Call for the previous cruise, if there is one.
  5. I would imagine that if you can describe it, the bartenders can build it! It sounds really good!
  6. @packercruising What ship were you on? I understand that the larger ships go through a separate channel because the original channel is too small? Do you know if you can see the other channel/ships?
  7. Congratulations, Matt! I STILL want to know how you talk so fast on the RC Blog!!!
  8. I have not used MEI Travel, but I'm sure that they would work with you on getting answers. I looked at their website, and while they don't have any numbers prominently posted, I did find this info: However, if you prefer to call you can reach our corporate offices at 877-881-7771 and we will take your information and assign a Vacation Planner to return your call. I would try calling that number, and express your concerns and request assistance.
  9. I second (or third!) the comments on how I was skeptical at first, but now swear by them! I also use them to store my electronics chargers together (one of the smaller bags); when I'm traveling, and not using the chargers, they stay in the bag. When it's time to unpack my suitcase, I find that just pulling out the cubes and putting them in the drawers is very satisfying -- pull out the cubes, put them in the dresser drawers, hang up clothes, put toilette items in the bathroom -- done!
  10. No email for me yet either -- but it has never stopped showing in My Orders in Cruise Planner, and I still have the confirmation email from when I purchased it in the Amazing Booze Race :-).
  11. I noticed yesterday (during the exciting "Race for the Booze") that my C&A # no longer appears when I go to the RCL Booked (i.e., Cruise Planner) page. I was able to add it back in today, but am curious as to why it disappeared. Has this happened to anyone else?
  12. I noticed that (on my Cruise Planner, anyway) it was labeled as "Deluxe Package Special Offer EU - 18 years and older." Is it just on cruises that include Europe in their itinerary, maybe?
  13. I grabbed it for our TA in November 2020. If they take it away, then I'll just wait for Black Friday sales. It sure would be nice if they let us keep it, though . . . Fingers crossed!!!
  14. I would take the starboard side because: Going out of NYC you'll have the Statue of Liberty off the starboard side, and will be able to view the sunset; Going into Port Canaveral you've got a 50/50 chance (it seems to me) of having a view of ships across the channel, or the dock, since I've noticed RCL ships "parked" both ways; Going into the Bahamas, you may/will probably have ships on both sides; Going into Coco Cay, you have that same 50/50 chance of being on one side of the pier or the other; Going back into NYC, the port side will have the view of the Statue of Liberty, but it will probably be before sunrise, so you might be asleep, and it might still be dark. Just my $0.25!
  15. I took part in the class on Enchantment in February of this year; I ate one or two pieces, and was allowed to bring the rest back to our cabin for my husband to try -- complete with a room service lid :-). We were given champagne / mimosas to drink after the class, and made the same items ScooterScott22 mentioned. I think my class was $30. Well worth it -- I actually made sushi at home upon our return!
  16. Another approach is to buy the Drink Package + Voom for one person, and just the Drink Package for the other (assuming two adults in the stateroom). Although there's no way to do that online (that I've seen), you can call Royal and ask them to do it for you. We did this on a recent 4-night sailing to the Bahamas, and it worked out really well.
  17. As I mentioned in another post dealing with snorkeling on Coco Cay, I had my own gear (including snorkel vest) and did just as Twangster mentioned -- left my towel with my (non-swimming) partner, and just walked into the water. Unfortunately, my (ancient) flippers split/cracked about 1/2 way out to the first raft (there were three of them). I was glad to have the vest on as I paddled back in with my non-functional flippers. Went up to the Snorkel Shack, and explained what happened (I was actually just looking for a trash can large enough to put my flippers in); Claudia was kind enough to loan me a pair of flippers free of charge to complete my snorkeling excursion. They do want you to sign in, even if you don't rent from them, but I'm sure that's for liability / insurance purposes; they also have a pretty informative video for you to watch, which explains the layout of the snorkeling area. Since I was on my own, I felt better signing in, watching the video, and following their guidelines. That may be what prompted the Snorkel Shack folks to look so kindly on my predicament. I have since bought a new pair of fins (the others were 20+ years old!) and am looking forward to using them. As to the OP's first question; we were there on Enchantment before the pier opened, but the snorkel shack is to the left as you cross over toward the beaches.
  18. In this same vein -- any idea if Next Cruise is available/offered on charters?
  19. We're from Washington state, too -- I use the wine bottle "gloves" and pack one bottle in my checked bag on the way to the port, and then bring it on in my carry on. A lot of our favorite (local) vintages aren't available in the Florida stores -- it's an easy way to make new friends, too :-) . You could also go to some of the wine store sites (wine.com, totalwine.com, etc.), and look for Florida vintages that seem to be popular -- then go to a Publix or similar store and see if they stock them. The last time we were in Orlando/Daytona, we stopped by some vineyards and had some really nice fruit wines -- the raspberry was particularly good.
  20. Following with extreme interest, as we'll be on the Oasis in 29 days! Would love to hear your observations on the shows, and your Izumi Hibachi experience :-). Thanks so much for setting an example for me -- I'm hoping to do a blog of our Transatlantic cruise . . . If you have any lessons learned about blogging, I'd love to read those as well. Bon Voyage!!!
  21. Thanks to the contributions of twangster and KristiZ, and the recognition that we will have 10 sea days, I took the plunge (so to speak) and got the DBP! I called RCL, as I only wanted the DBP, and my husband wanted the Voom+DBP; no way to do that on Cruise Planner, but no problem with the RCL Customer Service agent. I'm ready to start on my next DBP Exploration List . . .
