I'm curious as to when the Amplifications will start back up... scheduled for 2 cruises on Explorer next year...

Same here...I dread the idea of many of RC's plans that was scheduled to be completed over the next few years, may not see fruition til much later after their original debuts.

Actually i was going to ask " what the hell your original post had to do with cruising when Matt had posted that certain topics were not allowed"

Someone posted about tests being done on flights and how it could be used for cruiseships, straight away you turn it into a world wide conspiracy just to get your DNA.

Im pretty sure thats the type of thing matt is refering to with regards comments not to post.

Theres a time and a place for that type of thing

This isnt the time and this site is definitely NOT the place

The thesis of this thread, base on the video above, a procedure for the cruise industry to quickly test cruisers, similar to what Emirates apparently are doing. My comment is directed at the method of testing...that is not a conspiracy. I prefer not give blood to an unknown/unnamed entity, contracted by cruise line, with no discernable verification how my personal DNA is being properly disposed of, with insurance it's not being recorded in a database. I have no desire of having my blood taken from anyone outside of my personal doctor...and even then, I dislike the idea of it being in an established database. That video appear to simulate the ease & convenience, without concern I would have; when there are just as quick & less evasive measures that can be performed, on the spot, like swabbing, that efficiently being performed currently. It was not conspiratorial statement, just an expressed concern...and certain not political. I think the way one read & process what they read, in their own way, take things or read things, in a way they feel; and, not necessarily, the way that person address it. In this case, you may not be cognizant of it...how you perceive my opinion. No harm done...

  3. "If" the CDC makes the call next week, why would it be to soon? I pretty confident they won't make a rush to judgement call. The call wouldn't be much different if they made the call an additional 60days after the 100days. It still has to meet & achieve some criteria for a call to be made.

I understand we look at the media drilling in our minds, how dire the situation is currently; so, on a individual level, many project some amount of time out. However, I'm suggesting, technically, if the matrix deem conclusive, they could call it well before July 24th. That's what the stipulation for...and yes, it work both ways, and can be extended. I'm simply pointing out, the "which ever come first". Neither one of those stipulation possibly may not happen...then you will see another modification as the CDC, has stated.

As far as we know...thing can get better by Memorial Day.

Gotta give it to Royal...they just keep chugging along, as if things are business as usual. ?

The publication date is April 15, there is no further debate about that. Without further intervention the order will expire July 24.

I think some are missing the part that says, "which ever come first".

Probably why Royal, as of yet, may not be moving as fast as Carnival; because, "which ever come first", technically could be tomorrow, next week, next month, in 6 weeks, etc.

While I maybe in the minority here, I don’t think they should do this.  I understand wanting to keep business, but the fact of the matter is you didn’t take the cruise.  Regardless of circumstance, I do not expect to be rewarded for something I didn’t do.

I don't know if Royal will grant such a thing...they promptly issued my wife & I, the full allotted of points for a shorten cruise. I think if they do reward points, to those booked on a self-suspended cruise, that was paid in full, it obviously would be in good faith; because, those points would have been awarded, to those cruisers, who book those dates out of good faith & loyalty to the cruise line. This such a unique situation, they may recognize a one-time need to give back, at a time of huge inconvenience & uncertainty.

I agree with the rest of your statement but flu shots never made me sick. The same with most people I know. I'm not saying it's not possible and that people don't get sick but just trying to be careful with the info out there.

Look, there is always an exception to the rule...obviously, you & some people you know are...most people, whose immune system never had to activate and release enzymes to fight the virus will get sick, when injected with a strain their body never  encountered before. There are some the virus remain either dormant or they have had that strain before, as reason why most don't get sick after getting a flu shot. The flu effect people very differently...some feel like they're on their last leg, others as if its just a minor sniffle that they don't even recognize as the flu , and some variation in between....that's is a known fact. So just because you didn't get sick after receiving a flu shot, does not mean other won't either...that a misnomer in itself. A percentage of people get sick...and they get sick because their body never had that strain before....that's the point of getting a shot in the 1st place...to build immunity against that particular strain.

In my opinion it is only until a vaccine or cure is found

There has never been a vaccine for any virus in coronavirus family...just treatments & a shot of the previous year strain...which gonna make you sick for a few days, like flu shots normally do. The vaccine cure thing is a gross misnomer, imo. Also they say it will take a year to make, because by next year, you will be getting injected with this year strain.

Unclear when the 100 days starts to run.  It was set to be re-published in the Federal Register (re-starting the 100 days) but it seems that it has possibly been withdrawn (meaning they may be further revising it):

Editorial Note: The agency has requested this document be withdrawn from publication after placement on public inspection. The document will remain on file through close of business on April 13, 2020. A copy of the agency's withdrawal letter is available for inspection at the Office of the Federal Register.

    https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2020/04/10/2020-07677/no-sail-order-and-suspension-of-further-embarkation-notice-of-modification-and-extension-and-other

It's pretty clear to me...the order on March 14, 2020(the date of publication) is subject to modification & additional stipulated conditions, as set forth in this Order. The Order "shall continue" in operation.....

The March 14 Order is being renewed "to" not "from" the Operations Order, signed by the CDC Director. Lawyer speak, I know; but, that's how they writes things. To, From, Shall...key words; but, the bottomline for me: I'm just waiting for stipulation1.

On April 9, 2020, CDC renewed the No Sail Order and Other Measures Related to Operations Order signed by the CDC Director on March 14, 2020—subject to the modifications and additional stipulated conditions as set forth in this Order. This Order shall continue in operation until the earliest of (1) the expiration of the Secretary of Health and Human Services’ declaration that COVID-19 constitutes a public health emergency; (2) the CDC Director rescinds or modifies the order based on specific public health or other considerations; or (3) 100 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.

I have mixed feeling on this as I really like the outdoor seating behind the Windjammer.  Even in Alaska I enjoyed several meals out there on Ovation.  At the same time more interior air conditioned seating for the Windjammer is always a good thing.

I agree, I have mixed feeling as well. My wife & I rather enjoyed sitting outside, out back, on Anthem; however, those moment we chose to sit inside, it was fairly difficult(primary late mornings & peak lunch hour)to find a table inside.

BTW....Playmakers is located in the Sea Plex & yes, they do have Laser Tag there as well.

Also...there is a way to structurally have the water slide barely straddle both the sides of the ship and in front of the Sea Plex, for a Big U around the ship, using water jets similar to the Blaster on Navigator, beginning near the Sky Pad & ending just behind the Rock Wall on the other side. Just one slide however, unless they build a tight spiral behind FlowRider, with a slight overhang over the back.
