Ok but are you all solo cruisers?
If you have someone else in the cabin that is 21+ you have to double the cost.
True I have to factor in 2 @ $42 & 2 @ $20 to make sure my room get's what I spent in total

Appreciate everyone's input. Got a cabin held currently for August 2019 on Ovation
Just got off the phone with Michelle at mei-travel & put down a deposit on my August 2019 Ovation cruise. So pumped as I've always wanted to go but my wife taught school so always had a narrow window but she retired. Yeah for me!

This.
I know drink packages get a lot of attention, but if you aren't going to drink 5-6 drinks a day, every day of the cruise, then forgo the drink package and pay as you go for drinks.
I would think if you got it for $42-46 you could be fine with 3-4 drinks, 2 bottles of water, a latte, soda or juice, & a milkshake of course from Johnny Rockets.

Thanks Matt. Just read your insight & am sure I will again before I go in August

What about the time spent planning for one LOL or as it gets closer? I've been on this site & surfing planning for a cruise for the past month (booked the Allure) or so & than yesterday decided to plan for an Alaska cruise. Can't wait to actually go on one now

On my 1/27 sailing on Allure it dropped from $48 to $42 on 1/4 & the refreshment package dropped from $26 to $20 tonight

Just saw where the refreshment package dropped from $26 to $20 on my 1/27 sailing on Allure so I saved almost $100 for the week. Since my wife & I wanted the Deluxe at $42 a day I had to book the refreshment for our mothers. That savings paid for half of my excursion costs. Good for me!

For this cruise I'm doing the round trip(7).

So for an Alaska cruise should you book a balcony room or just book an interior (have extra money toward excursions maybe) & do all your viewing from various decks. Appreciate any thoughts

I use Michelle Cunningham ([email protected] 703 881 2727). I highly recommend using her or any of the other MEI agents.
Just an FYI - Michelle has been away for the past several days on personal family biz. I think she is back now but I am not 100% sure. If you contact her and do not hear back IMMEDIATELY (which is always the case if everything is normal) that will be the reason why.
Good luck, Robert !!
Very envious. I have yet to do Alaska. Retirement...hurry up !
Thanks for the TA info. Have reached out to Michelle & she is working me up some Alaska quotes. Hopefully get some booked later today

Thanks That's the plan

Thanks Matt much appreciated

Thanks Can you recommend any TA's?

I'm thinking about booking my next cruise to Alaska. Should I wait until I'm on my Allure cruise 1/27 & go to the next cruise desk or do you experienced cruisers use a TA to just handle it. If so any recommendations on a TA. I used my daughters friend who is a TA in Oklahoma City but he's more into Mexico exclusives so I'd rather use a TA who's all about cruises. Appreciate any insight.
Also was looking at going in Aug 2019. Is this a good time?
