  1. Since you mentioned Cozumel, you'll want to plan on taxi money if you are going to be exploring outside of the immediate port/shopping area. It's about a 30 minute walk to the down town area from the pier, and if you are going in the summer, it can get hot fast. Taxis are plentiful going both ways and it's easy to flag one down - even if you start the walk and decide to give up about half way to town as DH and I did while carrying all of our scuba gear a few years ago. It seemed like a good idea when we got off the ship! ?
  2. DH gets up naturally around 4am every day. If it's just us, it won't bother me if he gets up and reads on the sofa or balcony. We're taking our kids on their first cruise in September, and we have one of the 2br GS booked on Liberty. I'm really excited about the second bedroom and bathroom, and he's really worried that he'll never get me back into a JS again!
  3. Does guest services charge a fee to cash travelers checks? Maybe that's an alternative if you don't want to carry a lot of cash onboard.
  4. We bring cash for the casino, small souvenirs in port, transportation and tips in port (taxi, excursion guides), and lots of $1s for tips on the ship ($1-2 for each bag for porters getting on and off the ship, room service). I have never wanted to buy anything big / expensive in port, but we would use a credit card if we did. For the small souvenirs we just use cash.
  5. You didn't mention what type of cabin you are sailing in. If you are in a suite (Grand Suite or above), one of the perks is that room service does not incur a charge and you can order off the main dining room menu in addition to the room service menu.
  6. I feel the same about the men's shaving services in the spa. I always wondered if they cancelled appointments in rough seas. ?
  7. Somebody on another forum posted a picture of their strawberries and champagne. It looks like a bottle, not just a split, to me. Also, since it is delivered to the cabin, I don't think it would just be two open glasses of champagne - it would get warm and go flat if you are out exploring the ship.
  8. I do. They are cocktail dresses though, not full ballgowns. DH wears the same suit with different shirts and ties to go with my dresses for pictures.
  9. On non formal nights, I would wear a sundress or black pants with a cute top. Here's one from a smart casual night. DH would wear dockers and a polo or shirt like in the picture.
  10. That makes sense - I didn't even look at the water, and it definitely looks like it is more shallow closer to the fountain. Thanks!
  11. We have the same problem. My youngest is 46 1/2" and was just able to ride all but the very biggest water slides at our water park this summer. We're hoping he grows an inch and a half over the spring and summer because his heart is set on riding the slides on Liberty in September. I can guarantee tears if he can't.
  12. I've been looking at photos and videos of Enchantment, and I noticed a metal structure in one of the pools. Is this a divider that goes all the way to the bottom of the pool? An art installation? Permanent volleyball net? I can't tell from anything I've seen what it is supposed to be, and it's starting to drive me a little crazy.
  13. Are photo packages only available for pre cruise purchases on certain ships? I'm on Liberty in September and the only things listed in the Internet and More section of the Cruise Planner are Voom, The Key, and arcade credits.
  14. You can book now from the Cruise Planner on Royal's website. I don't think you can book from the app, but I haven'tused it too much (I found the hours they are open, but no booking option). If there is a space to enter notes when you book, you can add the details there, and then mention it to the host when you show up for dinner.
  15. I usually gain a couple pounds the week before the cruise. Every night that pre-cruise week we make a different drink of the day to get us in the vacation mood. ?
  16. Sorry - I defaulted to 4 passengers without thinking because that's how many are in my family and just rounded up. 2 passengers would be $1218 plus tax and port fees.
  17. $609 is per person for the entire cruise, not each night. It would be about $2500 plus taxes and port fees. Edit - about $2500 for 4 passengers.
  18. @Lovetocruise2002 thanks for the price drop after the cabin category sells out tip. Just saved about $200.
  19. Just watched your sail away video on the FB page. I always forget just how much quieter the helipad is than the pool deck. I'm very happy to be living vicariously through you this week (199 days to go for me)! Have a great trip!
  20. We did the Mystery Dinner Theater on Indy several years ago, but it was not on the first night back then. We were sad to see the change to the first night because it looks like Adventure Ocean isn't open yet, only for registration. We would book it again if it were any another night as DH and I really had a good time. Keep in mind it's not supposed to be Shakespeare, it's supposed to be a fun who-dun-it, spoofy, maybe a little silly at times event. As far as clothes go, I don't think they can be too demanding since it is day one. What you would wear to the main dining room on day one should be fine. Also, there is no dress code listed in the cruise planner like there is for the specialty restaurants.
  21. Ha! I almost posted a picture of the chickens we saw around the port in Grand Cayman. ??
  22. @WannaCruise What is that structure on Mariner that looks like yellow, blue, and green Pringles?
  23. So these are about 10 years old, but they still count right? I couldn't pick just one either. Hoping to add a lot more favorites when we finally get to take our next cruise in September. The fruit carvings make me happy - I just love him! My husband is always picked to hold signs because he's so tall. Life boat drill in action. And the obligatory sunset...or maybe it's a sunrise.
