  1. Absolutely this!!
  2. The antibody test will be different, since it's for post exposure. I'm waiting for them to be sure they have accurate ones available.
  3. The fact that my husband hasn't made me cancel any of the cruises gives hope still.
  4. If we end up having antibodies to it, and they determine that antibodies actually prevent a person from being reinfected with Covid19 for a reasonable amount of time, then yes, we likely will prior to a vaccine. We're still hoping we caught it on Symphony last Feb and just were asymptomatic (hey, it could happen!!!!). But since we both have chronic conditions that they say make us higher risk, it's puts all of our sailings in jeopardy (dangit). If it was just me, I'd do it. But my husband has several high-risk conditions and is a HUGE germophobe (y'all can't begin to imagine what I've been going through over the last 8 weeks). He also hasn't seen any media for 8 weeks, so he doesn't really know what's going on out there except that he's one of the people they suggest not risk exposure.
  5. I don’t think they’ll make self serve an option on any ship going forward.
  6. I sailed Jewel and loved her. I love Radiance class ships. I'm booked on an 8-night Empress cruise in Jan and was unable to lift and shift except to another 8-night Empress in 2022 because there were no other 8 night itineraries (other than Southern, which wasn't eligible). I'm looking forward to sailing Empress (if we can, ugh), but I'd definitely give a thumbs up to Jewel as well!
  7. The ice cream machines had attendants on the last two cruises I was on (last June on Ovation and last Feb on Symphony). You were not allowed to get your own. I imagine they'll change to this on all ships.

  9. Having sailed a scenic itinerary on a Radiance class ship (round-trip Boston - Quebec), and Alaska on a Vision and Ovation, I'd pick a Radiance class for Alaska for our next trip up. You have scenery from any bar/restaurant/any public place. Ovation is so inward-focused - there are few, if any, windows in most bars and restaurants. That was a disappointment for us.
  10. On a closed-loop cruise (Seattle-Seattle or Vancouver-Vancouver) it doesn't matter. If I were sailing NB I'd choose a starboard cabin, SB I'd choose port (my opinion after doing 3 of them). I sailed Ovation last year to Alaska, I haven't been on Quantum. I can't imagine there's a massive difference. My preference is a Radiance Class ship for Alaska if given a choice because I find Quantum class too inward facing for my taste in a highly scenic region (for instance when in most bars or restaurants there are few, if any, windows to sip a drink and stare out at the scenery. But that's just personal preference.
  11. @SpeakingofCruising welcome to the forums!
  12. Don't forget escargots!
  13. I buy trip insurance mostly for medical and evacuation coverage, so I'd say yes.
  14. Agreed - I just posted it in the hopes that someone else could interpret.

  16. I think it was the smart (albeit painful) decision.
  17. OMG, I need this NOW.
  18. I think they just haven't had the time, or the heart, to deal with any of this yet.
  19. Definitely use a good travel agent, whatever you do.
  20. So is the lesson to just take the refund? Asking for a friend.
