  1. When I sailed on NCL out of New Orleans my friend took one of the $20 airport shuttles that was waiting right when you left the terminal. She was at the airport by 830am. You need to allow 45 mins to get to the airport in case of traffic and congestion. There's also the possibility that the early Thanksgiving travel rush may start that weekend resulting in a more crowded airport. The biggest concern for me is the fact that sailing in/out of New Orleans is traveling the Mississippi. There may be weather related or fog issues that can cause a delay. But even having a flight after the time Royal recommends doesn't always save you from that. I would consider 10am a safe bet as long as there are no weather issues and you get yourself off the ship as early as possible and handle your own bags. Anything before that would really have to depend on the price and the airline's missed flight policy
  2. Pretty much nothing other than the risk of the stock price decreasing and being valued less than it was purchased for. Also there is typically a fee charged when making a transition by the broker that holds the stock for you, so you may have to pay that when you purchase and liquidate the stock. Plus Royal may not even allow the OBC redemption depending on the cruise fare booked -- there are some rates and discounts that aren't able to be combined with the stockholders OBC. There's also the opportunity cost of having ~ $12,000 tied up (current stock price as of June 18 is $122.63). If the stock happens to appreciate in those weeks that you hold it, you're also going to be taxed on the gains at the short-term capital gains tax rate.
  3. Not stupid..it's just pretty well hidden as you can see! ?
  4. Welcome to the boards! What you are wanting to do is create a signature. This will be shown at the bottom of all of your posts. From a computer: Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and in the drop-down menu click Account Settings. Then you will click on Signature and this will allow you to edit it. From a smartphone: Click on the three horizontal bars icon at the upper right-hand corner of the screen and then click on Account on the menu, and then select Account Settings. Then click on Settings Area and it will drop-down and you select Signature.
  5. Whichever kind of package you purchase that includes the Deluxe Beverage Package, you have to get the same package for everyone in your stateroom over the age of 21. If you select the Deluxe plus 1 device you will be buying that for each person in the stateroom -- each person will get the beverage package and a code that allows one device to be logged in at a time. If you only need one drink package to include the internet, you will have to call up Royal and handle it over the phone. The combo Voom/Deluxe package is for one device and it is the surf & stream Voom..so take that into consideration when making your decision which drink package/internet combo you need. If you do want 2 internet packages and two drink packages, the $9 difference in getting the Voom/Deluxe combo is better than buying the drink packages and a separate 2 device Voom package
  6. I don't believe you would be able to cancel the other room and expect those people to be added to your Grand Suite 2BR. That would cause a repricing of the room to add people.
  7. That sounds like your TA set you up for early dining. You don't have to make reservations for the dining room. You will eat at the same table at 530 every evening. If you would like this changed check with you TA about switching you to My Time Dining. It may not be available any longer for your cruise to make the change before you sail. If that's the case you can go to the dining room when you first get onboard and see if they're able to change you then.
  8. On ships that have Coastal Kitchen they do not have a breakfast in Chops. It's for a limited time and a limited menu. I believe this happens in the Concierge Lounge which is on Deck 12 Aft. Coastal Kitchen doesn't share the space with the Suite Lounge on Ovation. You can coordinate with the Concierge on board to schedule your onboard activities. This can be done onboard in the Concierge Lounge. They also should send you a welcome email a week before your sailing that you can respond to and make your dinner and activity reservations. If you did not prepay your gratuities then it will be charged daily to your onboard account. This daily service charge includes your room attendant and the service staff involved with your meals. It is customary to tip the Concierge if they happen to do something above and beyond in helping you, but it is not a requirement. If you purchase drinks or eat in a specialty restaurant an 18% service charge will be added. I would recommend tipping for the free drinks in the Concierge Lounge.
  9. It is per person for the first 2 people in the cabin only. And that is a one-time charge for the ENTIRE cruise, not per day!
  10. Just ask..they will get you a room service cover for your plate and you can leave with it. The food comes out of the kitchen with covers on which are removed at the waiter's station before serving at the table, so they have them easily available. Yes, you can take bottled water off the ship. Sometimes they are picky about you bringing them back onto the ship, but that's more them looking for liquor purchased in port that you are taking back to the ship.
  11. With the Deluxe plan the Kraken is included...you're just specifying the type of rum to be used in the Lava Flow. If you have the Refreshment package then order a virgin Lava Flow with the Kraken on the side and it will be charged as a single shot rather than a frozen alcoholic drink.
  12. Covers up to $13 on most ships. You just have to pay the overage plus 18% of the overage beyond that. There are a handful of wines in each category that fit within the limit, but many of the wines are $$$. If you can find out the wines to be sampled ahead of time it can make your decision to partake easier.
  13. This..gives you the flexibility to do what you want to kill the time and a place to store your bags.
  14. If you really are flexible with dates, look into Oasis or Allure for the first 2 weeks of December. Prices are very low and since it's an off season time flights will be more reasonable as well.
  15. I will be on that cruise as well...excited to see all the AMPed changes!
  16. Star Class will only be on Oasis and Quantum class ships..so start there. Star Class is the only one that includes everything.
  17. Not sure what your other ports are but Nassau is not the best one for all inclusive resort for a day...the British Colonial Hilton is walkable from the port, so that's a plus in my opinion..even if it's not an all inclusive.
  18. Yes. Some ships also have the self-service Freestyle machines, but you need the souvenir cup that comes with the package to use them.
  19. Ah yes..I try to avoid mixing business with pleasure..but at least you know now for the next time! A travel agent should always work for you..and there's no obligation to retain them if you don't mesh well.
  20. The porters can do the luggage tags for you at the port if yours don't get updated in time.
  21. You get your SeaPass either at check-in or when you get to your room it will be at your door. Depends on which ship. If you don't get the SeaPass until you get to your room, then you will use your SetSail pass (boarding pass) to get drinks until the rooms are open.
  22. I would do OBC and free grats for the kids.
  23. For the room keys, just go to Guest Services and ask for extra room keys. They won't be useful for anything other than accessing the room. You daughter will still need her originally assigned SeaPass to charge anything or use any soda/refreshment package under her name. I'm not sure they can set up the WOW bands to work for room access if you are switching, so you will have to ask about that. Worst case is you have to carry around the room key and use the WOW band for the purchases/drink packages that you were originally assigned. Also the WOW bands will not work for getting on/off the ship, so the originally issued SeaPass cards will need to be used.
  24. Take a look at https://www.gpsmycity.com/gps-tour-guides/nassau-453.html to get an idea of what there is to see walking around and design something that interests you and your family. I like to eat, so I look for food tours: https://www.trubahamianfoodtours.com/ This one has a good rating and if I ever go back on a non-Oasis class ship, I would probably try it out.
