Endicott Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer Excursion
AshleyDillo replied to ChanaC's topic in Shore Excursions
I haven't done this excursion but from the research that I had done when I was looking into this, it does appear that you board the small craft from the cruise ship and then you meet back up with the ship in Juneau. My research led me to Allen Marine Tours (https://allenmarinetours.com/) as the vendor so you may want to reach out to them directly, confirm they are the vendor and ask them this question specifically. -
C & A Society Diamond Level Balcony Discount
AshleyDillo replied to LovetoCruise87's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think it's $50 more of a discount for cruises 5 nights or less and $100 more of a discount for longer cruises. The C&A discounts get wonky when combined with out discounts so it isn't always clear how it gets applied. -
Allure would have to be refitted with the proximity key door locks for all of the rooms for them to start using WOW bands. Allure still uses the old SeaPass cards that you have to slide to use for payments and room entry. Since CocoCay serves all of the ships they aren't set up on the tap to pay system either. They still require swiping the SeaPass cards.

Kids Sail Free Re-Price/Upgrade (TODAY)
AshleyDillo replied to Ronaldo807's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Absolutely. A good way to check may to price out 3 adults and then price out 2 adults, 1 kid in the same room category and see if the bottom line is indeed different at what you are looking at. -
I believe @Matt discussed this with Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President and Chief Product Innovation Officer Jay Schneider on his podcast and the answer was they were still exploring bringing them back but had no definite decisions made either way yet. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/podcast/episode-445-what-royal-caribbean-has-planned-jay-schneider

Yes. When using the Optum tests you actually go through eMed to do the telehealth testing. These are the same as the Optum tests but at a lower per test price point.

Kids Sail Free Re-Price/Upgrade (TODAY)
AshleyDillo replied to Ronaldo807's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If you math that 30% off every guest discount it is actually way greater than 30% off of guests 1, 2 and 3 listed out there ($2999 + 2999 + 879 = 6877; 30% of that is only 2063 and they're discounting it 3519). It's way more of a difference than the cost of guest 3 listed above so I would definitely say it's building the KSF into the total. -
Best Way to Carry Around Sea Pass

Anthem is equipped to use them but they are not currently using them on any ships -
COVID TEST - Tell me your experience
AshleyDillo replied to RiveraCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The requirement for vaccinated passengers is at least 2 days before sailing. For a Saturday sailing, this means you can test on Thursday 4/14, Friday 4/15 or Saturday 4/16. The three day testing period is for unvaccinated passengers who require a PCR test that must be taken within 3 days of sailing and not including the sail date, so for them it would be Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. -
It's a chat feature within the Royal app. You pay $1.99 per day per device. Everyone you would want to chat with has to be on the cruise and also purchase the chat feature.

Cruise Control Transport shuttle?
AshleyDillo replied to Chris Fish's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Port Canaveral waiting queue to get in the terminal is in a parking garage so it won't be in the direct sun. With an 11:30 check in time you shouldn't have much of an issue. 11:00am is the earliest time I've seen them offer at Port Canaveral anyways. -
Conch is one of the staple Bahamian foods as mentioned..fried as conch fritters or in a conch salad. Make sure you take cash just in case the vendors in that area don't take cards. If you drink, there's a drink called Sky Juice that's a similar flavor to horchata but made with coconut milk and gin.

Does Odyssey of the Seas Have Wow Bands?
AshleyDillo replied to Bass76's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I wouldn't pay for one. You can't use them to get on/off the ship at ports and you had to take them off a lot of the time and hand them over when making purchases so they could touch them to the payment pad at the register. The only real convenience for me was that it allowed me to unlock the door when my hands were full. It's a non-issue currently because they haven't brought them back since the restart. -
You can select a time when you use the little door hanger the night before. Or you can call and they will let you know how long it will be.

Smoking on Cruise Ships
AshleyDillo replied to FLcruiser2022's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
The Golden Room was originally going to be the high rollers section of the casino for the Asian market but when they pulled Wonder out of Asia they had to adapt to fit the American market. It's definitely not a high rollers area currently with reasonable table limits for the three tables in there and a variety of slot machines with low minimums. I would encourage all the anti-smokers to take advantage of this room as a way to vote with their dollars and encourage the separation. -
POLL: Balcony Cabin Layout
AshleyDillo replied to FoxboroCruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I feel like the sofa closer to the door gives everyone more room to get ready and maneuver between the bathroom and the room. -
The a la carte restaurants are $20 per person per visit for Playmakers and Portside BBQ and $35 per person per visit for Izumi Sushi. That means EACH visit you have that much to spend per person. If you have 4 in your party that have the dining package you can order up to $140 at Izumi Sushi. Izumi Sushi also has a pre fixe menu for $34.99 that includes 1 small plate, 2 large plates and dessert that you can use your $35 stipend on. It's a TON of food!

Is a "rapid NAAT test" permitted test type?
AshleyDillo replied to Eniale's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The Walgreens NAAT that I have used successfully was the ID-NOW test which Royal's website specifically mentions they accept. At the I took the test the Walgreen website stated there was a 24 hour potential turn around on this test, but it never took me that long to receive my results. Most of the time it was within the hour after I took the test. I see now they've changed the verbiage on the NAAT test on the Walgreens site to remove the ID-NOW name (which means it could be a different brand now) and it also states it is a rapid test with results within 24 hours. At the port the worker checking the documents is looking for PCR/NAAT/antigen for the test type. They do not care if it is a rapid test or not and they aren't specifically looking for a brand name. They want to see your name matching your official documents, the date the test was taken, the negative result and the test type (PCR/NAAT/antigen). -
Navigator of the Seas - Day 1 Lunch Options
AshleyDillo replied to Matt F's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
It should be open..Playmakers is also usually open on embarkation day as well and can be an option. Usually I go and sit at whatever specialty restaurant is open for lunch on embarkation day and make my reservations for the cruise while I dine. -
Included in the cruise fare is tap water, regular hot coffee and tea, iced tea, lemonade and flavored waters, milk and chocolate milk, hot chocolate packets and a variety of juices at breakfast time (typically orange, apple, tomato).

Yes, it is accepted.
