  1. We've done the cabana on Nellie's beach and it was really nice. We would not have spent that much money but there was seven of us.
  2. We love aft junior suites have always tried to get one. We had one on the Navigator in December deck 7 and had no extra noise. It was great.
  3. Most have an expansion zipper and the no give keeps items safe. Love hard sided.
  4. Hubby just boarded the Navigator solo today. May 19th Hubby and I will celebrate our 25th on the Allure The following week we will be on the Empress with the whole family of 5 June 15th Hubby and oldest daughter will be on the Allure 10/26 my two youngest and I will be on the Grandeur to Bermuda Thanksgiving Hubby and I will be on NCL, all others are on RCI 12/2 hubby and oldest daughter will be on the Navigator I can't wait to book some for next year.
  5. Lobster night is for 7 nights and longer cruises. On 5 night we just got a lobster starter.
  6. I disagree on not using 3rd party excursions. You simply have to know your times and book with someone reliable. A lot of times the cruise line will charge almost double for the same excursion. Most 3rd party excursions fully refund you if your ship does not arrive, just watch their terms of service. Also, they are typically less crowded. If you use a well known and highly rated 3rd party they will get you back to the ship on time. Their livelihood depends on it. If you are new to traveling and want to do something far from the port that is when you should stick with the cruise line. Research will save you money and provide a very personal experience.
  7. I agree almost 100% with this. Guest services should have informed the passenger that they needed to deal with Air2Sea and provided them a phone number and offer of a free call to the Air2Sea rep. Although RCI is not in charge of the air portion they have partnered with someone so should help connect you to them. For travel we always take a paper copy even of the cruise insurance paperwork. I also send copies to my phone so I have everything there. Then sometimes I will even take photos of the paperwork so it is in my photo gallery of my phone and I can easily text it to others traveling in my party. And I like Delta too. Not that I fly them a lot as my preferred is Southwest and free bags. Even my favorite airline has disappointed me some times. Another thing to do is download the app for whatever airline you are traveling and keep track of your flights that way. That could have helped the OP find out sooner and typically there would have been an alert on their phone where they could have accepted the new flights and been booked. I've had this happen before and the airline sends you an email and if you don't respond within a certain time frame you end up in the situation the OP was in.
  8. I have to agree with all your points but one. I find the beverage packages higher on holiday sailings because they are so popular.
  9. Make sure they are the original birth certificates not copies, notarized letter from mom and a death certificate for your brother because typically both parents need to sign the form but you will need to prove your brother is unable to sign and has passed. Enjoy your family vacation, so glad you are including the kids on the trip.
  10. Most places won't expect you to use a car seat. There are some very small portable ones you could take but I don't think they would work for a child that small. They are more toddler size. Your only real option is to hold your child on your lap. Do NOT ever put them behind the seat belt with you. That could cause serious injury even with a sudden stop.
  11. Usually I want to kill him by day 4 but his drinking habit doesn't change, lmao.
  12. I have to disagree. We stopped cruising years ago because my husband's bar bill was crazy. Yes he is a big drinker. We are on vacation and do not want to limit ourselves. We switched to all inclusive resorts for 15 years and are now back enjoying the package. Our adult daughter gets the refreshment package. She gets her $20 worth plus; 2 special coffees $5 x 2, 2 bottles of water $3 x 2, 2 mocktails $8 x 2 and she is over the $20. Even at $50 a day me, the light drinker, gets my money's worth without trying; alcoholic drinks 3 x $9, water $3 x 2, special coffees 2 x $5, and 1 glass of wine with dinner $9. Figure out what what you drink at home in one day, extra you drink on vacation and calculate your need of the package.
  13. I want to cruise with you. You could show me all the hidden parts and explain everything to me. I loved the SS Norway when she still sailed. I love the old classics and hubby wants big and flashy.
  14. You can get some great quality, light hard sided luggage at Amazon. Just check the reviews. We got one set on eBay and it was horrible. I'll include a link to the last luggage we bought and love. We travel a lot both for work and fun and it has held up well. We have a big family with lots of travel so we need luggage that holds up. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B016QBSAU8/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My daughter has this set and has had it for years and it has held up amazingly. https://smile.amazon.com/Rockland-Luggage-Melbourne-Orange-Medium/dp/B004FMHO3U/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1BIGUEN9YRIWS&keywords=rockland+luggage&qid=1554509372&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&s=gateway&sprefix=rockland+%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-6 The airlines recommend this brand and if they break your hard sided luggage will replace it with this which holds up really well. They broke that junk from eBay and gave us this. It is pricey but excellent. https://smile.amazon.com/Andare-Barcelona-Spinner-Upright-Pewter/dp/B017AD1NWS/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=andare+barcelona+luggage&qid=1554509489&s=gateway&sr=8-1
  15. Skip any shopping excursions. They aren't taking you to the cheapest or best stores they are taking you to ones that pay them to take you there. You can easily find your own shopping places either ahead of time and map it out or when you arrive.
  16. We use the little 21" roller bag to carry ours on.
  17. My daughter has those sample box subscriptions from Birch Box and two others. She loves to use those small sizes to take on trips. Use them up and throw away then you have extra space and weight in your bag. Also, a hint, a flat iron doubles as an emergency iron for your clothes and is allowed. I'm fine with the onboard products for the week.
  18. You sound like my husband except it will be 15 Jack and Cokes and 5 drinks of the day.
  19. We were able to get some good deals on excursions. We already had the lowest prices on dining and drinks.
  20. We are from Johnstown, PA.
  21. On my upcoming Empress cruise I had a choice of 2 times one sea day.
  22. Small umbrella stroller for naps and to carry your stuff around. The big ones get in the way for you and others.
  23. We booked Jamie's Blue Reef for our next visit. It seemed close and had all that we wanted.
  24. I can't think of them all now but I know I've done a million mistakes because I travel a lot for work. Even though I'm OCD about plans I also get overwhelmed with life. One year I showed up at the Hershey Hotel because that is always where that yearly conference is but they changed it that year to the Hershey Lodge and I never read the paperwork. Now you all have me crazy to triple check our plans. Between all of us we have 6 cruises booked this year and I'm doing most of the reservations and planning.
