Jolly Ogre got a reaction from teddy in What travel agency (agencies) do you recommend
+1
I used Danielle until she left and then Michelle took over and I have been more than satisfied with her since.

Jolly Ogre reacted to WAAAYTOOO in "Chair hogs"
Solarium Bistro has been overwhelmed all this week on OA. We prefer it to the WJ but have been unable to find a table most of the mornings we’ve tried to eat there.

On any Oasis class ship you can get some breakfast at the Solarium Bistro.

Forgot about that. It was not open when we were on Harmony last year.

Jolly Ogre reacted to teddy in I'm calling Matt out!
I just like that CocoCay/CocoKey/Little Stirrup Cay is located in Slaughter Harbor. The first time I saw that on my phone's weather app, I had to look it up.

Actually the name of the island is Lesser Stirrup Cay. Royal just renamed the property, but if you look at nautical charts you can find the correct name.

Izumi (not hibachi) IMHO because the experience is the Hibachi.

Jolly Ogre got a reaction from Cactus527 in Early Arrival - Junior Suites?
We got to our port in Dec early like 10:30 and were only Platinum then but in a JS. There was no line and we were escorted to check in and then straight to the suite lounge.
There was about 35-40 others just hanging out waiting to board. They had drinks like coffee and water, cookies and brownies for us while we waited. Only had to sit there for about 20-30 min and then they started boarding and the line went very quick 10-15 min and we were on board. Very smooth and no anxiety at all.

Why did you book that room in the 1st place? If you did a GTY to get a cheaper rate, well then that is the risk you take.

This has been my experience as well. Suites board first regardless of boarding time on your set sail pass.

Jolly Ogre got a reaction from ScottD in Paper Compass harder to come by
Nice... but I bring my underwater camera to take photos. No phone at all!!

This is exactly what we did..ice and paper compass every night. I do use the phone for pictures and the app, though

We got the paper Cruise Compass on our last sailing in Dec. I asked for it as well as ice and every night I had fresh ice and the next days compass. Our attendant was great as was all the others before him.
I never use my phone while on the cruise. It gets turned off and locked in the safe.

Jolly Ogre reacted to Ryan79 in reservations
I booked my MTD reservations a year out and now that I’m 6 months out, times are starting to become unavailable. If you need a specific time on a specific day, I would suggest booked at least 4-5 months in advance.

Jolly Ogre reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Bringing prescription meds/vitamins on cruise
I never bring original bottles. I have the multi-day boxes with everything pre-sorted.

Jolly Ogre got a reaction from Matt in Margarita day drink package sale
Yeah I got it too, however no savings for me for the things i have already booked.

Jolly Ogre got a reaction from Neesa in Oasis Specialty Dining: which to skip
We were on Oasis just a few months ago and really enjoyed Giovanni's.
I would say skip Izumi if you are not doing the hibachi. I love Izumi's but it is for the show as well as the food. Going just for the sushi to me would not be that much of a value.

Jolly Ogre got a reaction from Pooch in Explorer or Oasis. Which is best? First time cruisers
It is not so much the length but the beam and interior volume is so much more on an Oasis class ship.

Jolly Ogre got a reaction from Jenn G-MEI Travel in Matt’s Fault
Yes !!.... We sailed on Oasis twice last year and loved Portside everytime.
We did not have a dining pkg but the value there is so good you don't need to worry about it.
