  1. Best & easiest cruise port to access and navigate on embarkation day & Disembarkation day?

What’s the Best Class of Ships & the Worst Class of Ships?

Why is there a daily charge for the key instead of a one time cost for the entire duration of cruises?

    What’s a Virtual Balcony?

When will Odyssey have her inaugural sailing?

What’s the difference between an interior  & an Interior with Virtual Balcony?

  2. I had cancelled a cruise myself because I could no longer go on the cruise so I got a 100% FCC & I also had $325 OBC applied on my account that I got from royal as part of a promotion when I booked the cruise that their was $271 OBC offered with that promotion and then because royal was gonna discontinue the eat....play....discover program for central park/boardwalk balcony rooms, but in September 2019, & my cruise was scheduled for April 2020 so when I received that email I selected that I wanted to keep the eat, play, discover perks and then I called royal on that same day and said that I wanted to keep the eat discover play perks so I had told the representative had issued me another $50 in OBC which added up to $325 in OBC was not reissued to me when I cancelled the cruise & I don’t know why it was not reissued from when I cancelled my cruise that was scheduled in April 2020.

  3. If you make cruise planner purchases for a cruise that Royal cancelled because of COVID-19 then the amount of OBC that is owed to you, then you should be able to add the amount of OBC account and then use the OBC for whatever you would like to purchase in the cruise planner before your cruise.

I think travel insurance is a great idea for a lot of people, but the biggest mistake with travel insurance is not understanding what it covers (and doesnt cover).

Be sure that whatever policy you buy covers the scenarios you have in mind.

@MattWhich company would you recommend that has the best & cheapest travel insurance that includes cancel for any reason, lost luggage, delayed luggage, medical evacuation, hospital stays, visits to the onboard medical center, necessary & purchases onboard the cruise ship/in ports of call because of lost or delayed luggage.

  5. I have never purchased travel insurance since I started cruising the summer of 2013, but I am starting to think that I should purchase travel insurance! Do you think that I should purchase travel insurance for my cruise on Odyssey in December 2021 because I am traveling with a senior citizen who I don’t think has any problems when traveling on cruise ships that requires her to go to the medical center. Also I am thinking about purchasing travel insurance is that my mother & I both have a “pre-existing” condition which is manageable by taking medication! In your opinion should I purchase travel insurance? Or if you or someone on your cruise reservation had “pre-existing” conditions that is manageable by taking medications would you purchase travel insurance?

If you do think that I should purchase travel insurance from should I purchase the cruise line travel insurance or is there any other company that sells travel insurance who has lots of clientele and has a very high excellent reviews and ratings that you think I should use?

ALL THOUGHTS ABOUT VARIOUS TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPANIES, & THE CRUISE LINE TRAVEL INSURANCE IS WELCOME.

The sailing is not there, it's been almost a week.  The cabin is missing from the sailing, I have an invoice but it is not reflected anywhere, yet I sadly see my two future previously cancelled count down sailings still reflected.

Are FCC sailings different? Will I not be able to access it ? Does anyone experience this?

I have booked a cruise on Odyssey for December 2021 and selected a stateroom and I got an invoice and i have paid for the cruise & @ time of booking I selected to prepay for gratuities, so then I had paid with the FCC’c that was issued to my mother & I so now there is nothing left on either of our FCC’s & all I have to pay in cash is part of the taxes & fees or 1/2 of the gratuities. And the cruise shows up in my cruise planner now but when I first booked the cruise it took a few days after booking to show up in my cp

When is the holiday break for you? It would mean taking the kids, but then you could conceivably do one of those if they line up right.

The whole point is not to bring them! ?

Why would you not want to bring your kids on the cruise with you?

    Welcome @Eric Z !

If there is a balance left from your original FCC certificate after you apply it to another booking, you will receive a new FCC certificate for the remaining balance after the sailing that you applied the FCC to is completed. I haven’t checked and can’t confirm at the moment, but I’m going to assume the deadline to apply that balance of the FCC to another cruise is the same.

We applied our FCC to our 4/24/21 sailing and also have a remaining FCC balance after paying off that cruise. I wish we could apply it to our OCT 2021 sailing, but we can’t until that APR cruise is completed and the new FCC certificate is created.

I called royal Caribbean and had them apply my FCC to my Odyssey Cruise on 12/12/21 and I was told that since I would have a remaining balance on my FCC and that I would be issued a new FCC with the remaining balance after my November 2021 cruise is completed that the new FCC WOULD BE VALID FOR 1 YEAR AFFER THE NEW FCC WITH THE REMAINING BALANCE IS ISSUED.

Hope that helps and is the answer that you were hopping for!

  9. I got my first passport when i was 16 years old and my mother had filled out the papers for her passport on the same day that I Had filled out the papers for my very first passport and I only had my mother’s permission but I did not have my father’s permission, so my mother and when we applied for our passports in person my mom & I each had to bring our birth certificates when to show that we are related.

    Hi all

I've searched through but couldn't get the answers to my FCC questions, appols if its an obvious answer.

We have a fully paid August cruise which i'm still clinging on to hope that will go, but it's looking unlikely. 1 cabin for the 3 of us,  me, my wife and our youngest (8), on a 14 night cruise.

The price split on the Royal's invoice is as follows:

Guest 1 (me) Cruise fare £2000 (no discount) paid £2000
Guest 2 (wife) Cruise fare £2000 with £1000 discount, so paid £1000
Guest 3 (child) Cruise fare £1000 with £200 discount, so paid £800

If the cruise gets cancelled by Royal, I think i'm right in saying we'll be offered a FCC at 125% each, with the child's being transferable as he's under 12?.

So assuming that is the case, do i then get a single FCC for £2500, my wife a separate FCC for £1250 and finally a third separate but transferable FCC for our son at £1000? Or is the amount evenly split between the three of us - ie we each get a single FCC for £1583?

The answer to this then will give me another question or two, but rather than list every possibly scenario i'll wait for clarification from you lovely people first.

    Many thanks in advance

    Adam

Royal will email you an FCC for you, your son, & your wife. The amount of the FCC will be 125% of the total of £3800 which you had paid for the 3 of you to go on the cruise, so the amount of the FCC for each person will be £1583 each.

  11. Jr suites are considered sea class. And if you did not receive a I’m # then you were probably upgraded from an Oceanview Balcony to a Junior Suite.

if you were not Upgraded to a Junior suite & your set sail pass still says that your in the sea class category of rooms then on embarkation day you could use the suites only line to walk through the security area faster then the security line for non-suite guest & you can also use the suites only line to checkin @ the cruise terminal on embarkation day, & suites are one of the first 3 boarding groups that is called to board the ship before everyone else.

    Hello All,

I was interested to find out if there are any other ways of getting on board credit : So far I have:

    • Share Holder ownership
    • Royal Caribbean visa points.
    • Travel agent credits
    • Next Cruise department
    • My Vegas if your timing is correct
    • Royal rewards?
    • Cancelled sailings.

Is there anything else I may have missed?

    Thank you

    Hi guys,

My first time posting a new topic!

In the past I have always just booked my cruise directly with Royal Caribbean.

This time I am looking at a New Zealand sailing in Feb 21, return flights from London to Sydney with a hotel stay for the night before sail. As this is quite a lot to do and I’d probably forget about losing a day on the plane and end up in Sydney a day late ??‍♀️ so I thought it will be best to leave it in the hands of the professionals.

I reached out to a vision cruise who got back to me with a cost of just under £5000 which I thought was great! However I did do a mock costing on my own for the same room type for the cruise as far as Royals website would let me go without booking, including gratuities and tax I believe. The same BA flights on the same days and the same hotel they had quoted and it came out in total just under £4000.
It may be that I’ve just missed something off but is this something I could put forward to the company to see if they could match or explain why the costing is so different?

Or maybe you guys might know from experience!

They could have quoted you a cruise total price that also includes a refundable deposit and you could have quoted yourself a total cruise price that may not have included a refundable deposit and vacation protection.
Both vacation protection and Refundable deposits have an additional cost which increases the total cost of the cruise & is the cause of the price increase of your total cruise price.

OBC will cover anything charged to your seapass account so it covers drinks, food, excursions, purchases in the shops, cash from the casino (5% fee applies unless you have casino status), spa services, games in the arcade.  Basically, anything that you pay extra for, on the ship.

Also covers the gratuities if you did not pre-pay for the gratuities before you went on the cruise.

Probably best to go ahead and have her added now even if the cruise fare is repriced.  If it turns out that she is not able to go, do NOT cancel her.  Just let her be a no-show at the pier.  You won’t get any cruise fare refund for her, but you will get her Taxes, ports fees and gratuities (if they were prepaid) back for her.

Plus if you add her & she is a no show at that pier you will get to cruise by yourself in a cabin that sleeps 2. You will also get 2x points per night for cruising solo in an interior, Oceanview, or Balcony, & 3x points for sailing solo in a suite.

For the FCC's it was them that cancelled...  I'm good with math and know what should come back...   Ok... That comes via email, do I have to save the emails or is there some "account" I can view?

You should save the FCC emails because they contain the reservation # of the cruise that was cancelled because that is how the Royal Caribbean representative will apply the FCC to your new cruise reservation and has the same names on the new reservation and the names are the same as the names that the FCC was issued was issued under.
