Thanks!   The username is authentic.  I'm a retired Technical Special Agent turned stage photographer.  It was quite a change, the subjects don't have chalk outlines or markers and they keep moving.  People either kept a sense of humor or went back to working on a regular squad.

I've heard that the upgraded toiletries are super nice - just what you need for all your manscaping needs!!

I can't help myself, I'm one of the people who get annoyed when I see t shirts and shorts. I don't need ball gowns but I love the whole atmosphere of the dining areas and nicer clothes. I would never say anything, nor would it ruin my evening, I just like the looks of everyone trying a little. It's pretty much the only time you'll see me in a dress.
Saying that, I didn't see much of shorts and t shirts last month and it was still called "Formal Night".

For us ..... it hinges on the itinerary ..... On our upcoming 7-nighter to Bermuda --- We have 3 Sea Days on top of Day 1- - Sail Away Day, so we bought the package ...
Fast Forward to 2020 when we'll also have a 7-nighter on Freedom, but in this case, only 1 Sea Day (plus Sail Away Day) --- all the other days we're spending in ports.  We're really having a tough time deciding on this one ..... the thing that may sway us to get it is that it's more than just alcohol.  Since it includes bottled water (Major Plus) --- Specialty Teas & Coffees (also a major plus) -- and now the addition of JR Milkshakes ...... hmmmm, this is a tough decision.  Luckily we have plenty of time before we must make a final decision.

the 100,000$ med evac and 20,000$ medical is a good deal.   Our med evac from St. Lucia to Ft. Lauderdale was 67,000$ and the hospital was 14,900$ (and the hospital is pay as you go...so your credit card is billed as you go).  Another additional bit of advice is to carry plenty of cash...as ambulance was $50 cash from ship to hospital and another $50 from hosptial to airport....but actually it was $250 cash from hospital to airport because they could get an ambulance(all tied up with another accident) and borrowed a red cross ambulance for the trip.  If our insurance couldn't provide med evac (which they did with one phone call), angel flight would have provided the service for $15,000 up front and would bill insurance later.  Will never travel without it again.  RC was great (doctor, nurse, front desk) and provided someone(Christina) to attend to us while at the hospital.

Not to distract from your direct question Toodle68 (I don't have any experience with a claim), but allow me to throw this out there; as a blanket statement all here who vacation a couple or more times a year:

An annual travel policy is CHEAP! and all RCBlog readers should probably have one.

This was answered in the other post but I'll try again.
Yes, you can go to guest services and ask to have them removed.  If you choose to tip on your own, supposedly the staff needs to turn in those tips to the pool.  If you paid the daily gratuities and then give additional tip the staff may keep it.
Don't forget the daily gratuities are split among many staff not just those you personally see.  For example, the dining portion of the tip doesn't only include your MDR staff but also the staff in the Windjammer or those who serve breakfast and lunch.  There are many people working behind the scenes to make your cruise incredible.
If you really want to reward outstanding staff members, the best thing you could do is use their name on compliment cards and the post cruise survey.  This goes in their file and is best for their long term career.

Having a T-Rex would be kind of cool.  Messy though (when it gets around meat/people).

Building on this, there are some very good cigars from neighboring countries.  The climate is nearly identical.  Cuban cigars to me are over hyped and most people wouldn't know the difference from a DR cigar.

ok aren't the ships confined spaces and the lack of personal sanitation the cause of noro virus with all the people crammed into small spaces now we add dogs cats turkeys hamsters and whatever to the mix where does the litter box go where does the dog poop and pee I have seen a great dane that its owner said was a support dog the smell will become overwhelming and what about fleas and ticks does the ships doctor certify the health of the animal I think not I applaud you Royal for doing the right thing in my humble opinion animals do not belong on cruise ships yes it costs me a lot of money to board my 3 cats and 2 dogs when Im cruising but I accept it as part of cruising it would never occur to me to bring little poopsie or Sylvester on a cruise its not fair to all the passengers with allergies or just don't want to cruise with other peoples pets
