Way back in prehistoric times I took high school Spanish. Of course, being in Texas, I learned the Mexican dialect of the language. In about a year I will be on a TA from Rome to FLL with a few stops in Spain. Will the 20 or so phrases that I remember of my high school Spanish suffice in Spain or will they just shake their heads at me?

Am I the only person that comes to RCB multiple times a day specifically to see if Galveston Steve has more info on my local port and has updated this thread?- 965 replies

Many credit cards have "virtual cards". This is a one time card number that can only be used once or, once used, can be disabled without affecting your normal CC number. When I am the least bit concerned I use this feature.

Get a heavy duty bag about the size of the "fit all you can in the bag" bag. Stuff it full, squeeze all the air out of it and stuff it full again. Once totally packed put it inside the RC supplied bag. You can get a lot more clothes in there that way.

What is the best excursion you have been on?

Helicopter from Juneau and walking on the glacier. -
I did a fake booking on a cruise I have scheduled for in March. A connecting stateroom is significantly more expensive in this case. Maybe they can save some money by not choosing a connecting cabin.

Chops + 1 Dining Package == Chops x 2?
stevendom57 replied to stevendom57's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Mine doesn't list that restriction -
If I buy the Chops + 1 Dining Package can I choose Chops as my second dining venue. Is it obvious that I really like Chops?

Someone with salt and pepper hair. Maybe a little garlic powder thrown in. -
I always expected that bootstrapping the cruise industry would take time. They have never had to do this before.

Why are the prices higher than usual?

I have switched to looking at BnBs. I am booking early, focusing on those that offer no cancelation penalties. -

Isn't it nice to be talking about Cruise Compasses again? Do I need to take my passport when in port? ?

A lot of restaurants do not have physical menus anymore. I wonder if the Cruise Compass will be digital? How am I going to highlight the screen on my phone? It is already covered by white-out from when I was editing a document. ?

That is not an unreasonable cost. They seem to be in line with private excursions through Viator, etc. Perhaps something to consider if we cannot just browse the port on our own. Get a group of people together and pay a RC babysitter to escort the group through the town. That could meet the definition of "staying in the bubble".

I was just poking around the RC website looking for shore excursions for my March cruise. I ran across an option for Royal Private Journeys, basically custom, private excursions. Is this a new thing formed because of Covid or has it been around for a while? I am sure that it is too costly for me but was wondering if anyone else knew about it. Steven
