  1. 100% agree! RCL did this with one of our Alaska excursions for next summer. Haven't seen a refund on it, nor cancellation, and it still appears in our calendar. It's been off the cruise planner website since June.
  2. Just check the booking for our July 2020 Canada/New England sailing. The fare is back down to what we paid on the booking opening date.
  3. Have fun! Will be following along. I will be interested in your adjustment to the non-suite life.
  4. +2 for Radiance. We will be doing the southbound on Radiance next July. We picked this open-jaw route so we could see and do a lot more of Alaska (given the state's enormity, that's a funny statement). We will be flying into Anchorage four days prior to embarkation for our own sightseeing and fishing excursions (Hello Rusts Flying and Guide Service!). Then we will be taking the Goldstar Service on the Alaska Railroad to Seward in the morning. Will arrive in Seward around 11:30-12:30. Will check in on the boat, eat some lunch, and then walk-off and head over to the Alaska Sealife center for a couple of hours. We will cruise for the next week, hitting many awesome ports of call with awesome views and excursions. Disembarkation will be in Vancouver. We will spend just part of the day there and then jump on the Cascades Amtrak service to Seattle (and fly out from there). Hoping the Seattle Sounders will have a game that weekend in town. We wanted to get the long flight and land part of our trip done first so we can relax (sort of) on our cruise, just as @KJ1231 mentioned. I suspect that this will not be our last Alaskan cruise, as next time, I'd like to spend more time in Vancouver! Echoing @SpeedNoodles, book as early as you can as prices will most probably only go up. Use a good TA that will monitor prices for you and rebook as necessary, however, do book as far far far in advance as you can and can afford.
  5. I think that it will depend on your deposit, final payment date, etc. That info will most likely be on the first page of your booking confirmation, just below the fare breakdown. If you purchased travel insurance with "cancel for any reason", you should be fine save the deposit (if it's non-refundable). So check your booking confirmation and check your travel insurance. If you used a TA, they can sort that out for you (and let you get well without the stress). Hope you are feeling better soon.
  6. How would I take that? With coffee and perhaps a little more marzipan in that stollen! Merry and Happy Christmas! Bah Humbug to the complainers!
  7. I understand that a few days prior to embarkation, a suite concierge will email to introduce themself and ask if there are any requests that they can take care of. So, can they make all the dining rezis on the ultimate dining package PRIOR to our embarkation?
  8. July 19th, 2019 Alaska Southbound 7-night on Radiance of the Seas July 15th, 2020 Canada/New England 9-night on Adventure of the Seas.
  9. July 2019 Alaska Southbound July 2020 Canada/New England
  10. We were in Nassau this past June with DCL. They had emailed a similar letter prior to embarkation. We decided to leave the ship anyway. We went as far as The Fence and turned around. What a freak'n mess at port.
  11. Agreed. First I thought this was marketing sent out on behalf of the Juneau Chamber of Commerce for our upcoming Alaska cruise, but looks like everyone receives it, regardless of sailing.
  12. IT had to run to the pet store to get more hamsters for the wheel. . . .
  13. We have used happylimo.com to/from Port Canaveral to/from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and will always use them. GREAT service.
  14. Awesome the GC is the Canada/New England sailing! Just big time bummed that we will not be on it. DS will be a sophomore in AP classes and on the soccer team. Just can't swing it. We may go during the June or July 2020 sailing anyway (and rework our second Alaska sailing). Already have excursions picked! @Lovetocruise2002 does this fall during your summer break?
  15. Simple question for you all this Friday: aft balconies. What are the best and the worst of them fleetwide?
  16. Took my very first cruise in 1985 on the SS Norway BECAUSE of that show. Turned 18 on that cruise, had my first beer and played my first slots on that cruise. We were seated at the Captain's table every night. No MDR and specialty restaurants back then. Just THE Dining Room. Never ended up on Fantasy Island, though!
