  1. Even if they did reduce the prices for a time I would imagine that it would not be long before you would see increases and all this would be just be a lot of talk.
  2. well I guess I have done that - I have one for 2018, 2019 and now 2020. This site makes me do it
  3. After thinking back on the last cruise I do feel it was the patch that caused lots of problems. It caused a malaise like feeling in me and such a dry mouth that there was never enough fluids that could solve the dry throat. This time I vow there will be a difference. So let it be written so let it be done!
  4. Matt, thank you so much for having a website that I personally have learned so much from. I owe the people of this site; they have saved me loads of money on the what to do, and more importantly, what not to do on cruises.
  5. I am going to take everyone's advice and not use the patch and bring Bonine instead of Dramamine. We shall see how it ends up. No matter what it is a short four day cruise.
  6. I wonder that too. My wife and I had one on and she got so weird on it that she was having an issue even having a clear thought and was stammering her words badly. She threw it out after day two. Mine made me feel strange with an exceedingly dry mouth for the first day and then it lessened and after day three I got a new one only start the process all over again. I might try your suggestion and go without. This is just a four day cruise so I can bring Dramamine with me just in case.
  7. I hope the more I go the less I get sick. I guess I will find out in the next 90 days.
  8. I had a patch on while on the ship. First time I ever had one and it made me feel a little strange but not enough to let me get sick. I felt OK on the cruise but once I took the patch off at home is when I started to really notice a wobbly - nauseous feeling and it increased that feeling for three days and on the fourth-fifth day I started to get a little better until it was finally gone within a week. Now for clarification on me - I was 20 years in the military and flew on an ISR platform for Operation Iraqi Freedom and the first night of the war I got really flight sick while doing air-to-air refueling so it is not unheard of me to feel sick on a not so stable environment. ?
  9. I was not sick at all. After I got off the ship I felt a little wobbly but went through Miami airport no problem. When I got home and woke-up the next day I felt it and the next day it got worse. Then I made the mistake of laying on the bed one afternoon and it felt like a full on drunk feeling of the room spinning. I think the more you move around the better you will be for getting it to go away. I took Dramamine at night and passed out. I think it went away in about 4 days. I am HOPING that the more I cruise maybe the better I will get at it. At least that will be my excuse for a while. Just looking to hear if anyone has any methods to ward off the wobbles?
  10. I have only been on one cruise and I really liked it but when I got home I felt dizzy and funny feeling for about a week. To me it felt like a drunk feeling when you sat still everything seemed to be spinning and gave me that want to throw-up feeling - I did lay in the bathroom several times, thinking oh no, I hate throwing up please no. I had the patches on the ship, but once I got home, it really came on hard and made me feel terrible for several days. Even to the point I was telling my wife, "you will never get me on a cruise again." You see how that ended up I am going again. I did take Dramamine and it helped but it makes me really drowsy. I want to know from you very-seasoned (doesn't mean old) cruisers - is there any way to get rid of that feeling quickly? signed, oh my, I am getting back on a ship in 90 days - ugh?
  11. I bought bottles water on the ship but every morning I went to get coffee I brought my 40oz water container and filled it up with ice and tap water. I never had an issue and didn't use all my bottled water in my room - lesson learned.
  12. I have one that is for September 2019 and it was way past the 60 days and MEI (Michelle) was able to do here vudoo magic and was able to take it over. As said above, it depends on who is asking I think. If I remember correctly, it was past 6 months since I booked and they were able to take it over.
  13. Wow thanks for taking the time to explain. Glad all ended well.
  14. May I ask what were his symptoms that lead him to get treatment? The reason I ask is that type of blockage is normally fatal, as you indicated, and most of us may not even know it is an issue until its too late. I hope you don't mind the question but most of us are too stoic to get treatment if we feel the pains so having an understanding of what it is like can help others.
  15. I am a year out for two Puerto Rico Royal Caribbean Cruises on FOTS and would probably ask the same question so I too am waiting on what the responses will be.
  16. It seems that Royal Caribbean did everything they could do to make the situation work. Some people cannot ever be satisfied no matter what you do. In the end the guy was just trying to get a free cruise.
  17. Has anyone stayed in a Hump cabin and especially 9338?
  18. Now I understand what the Royal Caribbean Blog is all about - it's a support group for Cruiseaholics.
  19. This is a very timely topic since I am porting out of San Juan for the next two cruises. Where are the great hotels to stay at when going out of San Juan?
  20. I got stuck going on a Carnival Cruise to attend my son's wedding as they got married in Grand Cayman last year (2017) and I didn't, at the time, have any interest on going on a cruise. My wife,on the hand, loved the thought of it and planned everything; as I didn't want to know a thing other than to show up. Well I loved it and I think I have an issue now - I think I have become a cruiser - I now have three cruises set-up for the next three years out to 2020, two of which will be on the Freedom of the Seas out of Puerto Rico. The other day I was contemplating my 2020 cruise when I looked at an ABC Island Cruise (March 08, 2020), with St. Thomas included on the way back, and saw a Hump Cabin - JR Suite 9338 was available...did some research, and deck reviewing, along with reading peoples opinions, and thought it looks cool so lets do it. I leaned over and asked my wife if she wanted this cruise and she said, I don't care, lets just go on a cruise . By the way, these Cruises on the FOTS are 5 months apart from each other. I should become familiar with the ship on these two events. So, do I have a problem now or what?
  21. Cool Hand Luke - great movie but not from the younger crowd.
