  1. You had my attention at stripper pole. I was reading this early in the morning, 0450, just minding my own business, when I read stripper pole, wait, what is SpeedNoodes up to now? Then I went back and looked at those room and yes, there is a pole in the middle of the room, stripper pole, hmm...I wonder if the wife would oblige me...oh, what am I thinking, that's not going to happen ?
  2. If you ship it does it come with very detailed instructions on how to reassemble back together after shipping.
  3. I found that if I take Bonine for a couple of days, after the cruise, I don't feel anything, and it goes away after a couple of days. My first cruise I was cursing cruising and saying I will never do that again, but alas, that wasn't true and I have learned ways to make it lessen or go away quickly. And, am always ready to BRING ON THE CRUISE EUPHORIA AGAIN! (in small caps to show that I am sheepishly awaiting for my next adventure) I have 385 days to my next cruise
  4. Unless Ginger and Maryanne are along for the journey than it's going to be ok
  5. How could we kick out SpeedNoodles - you have one of the coolest names on the site. And, I had a collie in the past (she passed away at 13 years old) so what's not to like!
  6. I re-booked my March 2020 cruise and it cost me $100 more for the sale: however, I got the $400 OBC so I paid $100 to get $300 more of OBC as I already had $100 OBC so it worked out for me. My DIL and son are on the same cruise and and I told them about the sale but it would cost them $300 more to get the $400 OBC so it didn't work for them. We have different rooms, GS and JS so the prices of the room made the difference. I booked this Puerto Rico ABC cruise in spring 2018 so I am down to almost a year to go.
  7. I have over year (March 2020) to wait for this exact same cruise so I will be living my life vicariously through your blog - so no pressure ?
  8. @Atlantix2000 is correct it was Falmouth, Jamaica that denied them access to the port area and from there they were going to Cozumel. I imagine on the way to Cozumel they were hoping that it would be contained but as more people came down with norovirus the Captain and crew had to come up with a plan and get RC leadership to make a decision. I think the decision was fair. It will work for some and not for others but you can't make everyone happy all the time.
  9. My Son and Daughter-In-Law came off a Oasis of the Seas Cruise a couple of weeks ago and they both commented on the pizza as being pretty good.
  10. I wasn't surprised that the lawsuit came I am only surprised that they are only asking 1 Million ?
  11. It's been like that for a week. I thought it was a mistake but now I beginning to wonder if its purposeful.
  12. I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Miami Brickell Downtown last time and found it a nice place to stay and around a lot of restaurants and nightlife. It was about 5 miles to the port and overall not too expensive. i think we paid around $160. The rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. Took a shuttle from the hotel the next morning and was at the port by 1030 and on the ship by 1100. Not too bad at all.
  13. I have done the "Cozumel-Dolphin encounter at Chankanaab and enjoy the beach there before our dolphin time." I had fun with the dolphins and Chankanaab is a nice place. You can do snorkeling there too. The beach is white sand and pretty but it is not right up on the beach. To get to the water you have to climb down stairs, because it is very rocky, but once in there are quite bit of colorful fish in the area. The food buffet is OK, nothing to shout about but it gets the job done. You can actually see the cruise ships docked from where you are so the ride to the beach area is pretty short. Bring some money for lockers, and if you want pictures with you and the dolphins, that costs too.
  14. My wife feels the same way about Roatan she refuses to go on an excursion. The last time we went we had security following us around. I thought to myself that is never a good thing to have security with you on an excursion. I have seen a lot worse since I was in the military for 20 years and always got sent to the garden spots of the world. I would say Haiti, not Labadee, would be one of the worse places as poverty is a way of life - roads, what roads; oh, you need to use the bathroom - ok, well the street looks like a good place for it.
  15. It's always good to see when people can take their passion of something, like cruising for instance, and monetize it. I wish I were able to do that.
  16. I had some heavy turbulence coming back from Miami a little over a week ago that had the flight crew sitting down most of the journey. When I landed I thanked the flight crew and walked off. Couldn't have imagined whining about it and asking for compensation but I am sure there were some that did just that.
  17. It seems everyone today wants to be offended by something as well as get something for nothing - this is a perfect storm for that. If I remember the article it only lasted 1 minute of time before they were able to upright the ship again. It would have been scary yes but what else could they do. As you stated you take a risk whenever you step on anything mechanical including flying. It happens...and that's all I am have to say about that.
  18. I believe Michelle @michelleis too based upon her voicemail.
  19. I have been to Cap Haitien when I was in the Military stationed in Haiti, Port-au-Prince, circa 1997, with United States Support Group-Haiti building wells and roads. It is actually a very nice place, in regards to overall Haiti, and the Haitian people are a really nice lot. All that being said, you can get placed in dangerous situations really fast and the place is prone to political turmoil. One minute it can be calm and the next there are machetes being carried by the crowd. And the problem is unless you understand Creole you won't understand the situation. It can be calm as can be, and you can have an awesome time, with great people; however, there is that one-time, maybe 1 out of a 100, and it can go bad. It's all about calculated risk and only you know your tolerance. And, understand the nearest security is not going to help you unless you pay them too. For perspective, when I was in Cap Haitien I was armed and still felt odd sometimes.
  20. USMC or 82nd Airborne or 75th Ranger Regt?
  21. I have not been brave enough to go past 7 days on a cruise so I look forward to your blogging. Have an awesome time! I am leaving from Miami on the 29th of October but on Carnival. I booked it before I really knew much about Royal Caribbean. I will still have fun I do pretty much wherever I am
  22. I didn't know what to expect when I opened this and I am still not sure what I read.
