I'm going on Brilliance starting December 14th so I am hopeful that the ship will be decked out for Christmas like your ship is for Halloween. From what I have been told it should be.
Make sure to get a photo next to the Christmas tree!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

@CHRIS WONG do you know what your new job on Oasis will be? You didn't mention it in the video.
I'm still going to be the Assistant Casino Host, but with a lot more responsibility. This will help me step up to a Casino Host of my own ship very soon!

@CHRIS WONG when I was on the Allure couple months ago, you could use your sail card to load the slot machine and charge it to the room. There's no fee for that but is there a fee for doing that at the tables? The sign at the cage said there could be a 5% fee.
Yes that is correct. 5% fee at the tables.

@CHRIS WONG, I know it would be an expense, but is there some possibility you could invest in a gimbal for recording? I like to watch the videos, but I'm really susceptible to motion sickness; I'm afraid that your videos are shaky enough that I start feeling queasy in about 5 minutes. Have to pause them, stop for a while, then pick up again to be able to watch a full one.
Thanks for the tip. I'll look into this when I start making YouTube videos more on a full time basis.

Hi Chris - I will be on Mariner the week of 12/9-12/13. Can you let me know if they have any Texas No Limit Hold em poker games? I'm interested in a real game, not sitting around some electronic type table playing poker. Hope to meet you when we cruise. Thanks.
We have a no-limit cash game, every night from 7pm!
$100 buy-in. $2/$5 starting blinds.

Early 2000's a friend was trying to get me to sign up with him for jobs. I never did, he never did, wish I did. Back then I had nothing to lose and could have used the opportunities presented. Oh well
It's funny, because right now, I look forward to the day I am a guest onboard - and not a crew member.

Great video. Does Royal Caribbean encourage internal transfers and such? Is it up to you as an employee to seek out other opportunities for your career goals?
We have a jobs posting board in our crew areas of all the new positions onboard. We essentially get to see new jobs before anyone else.
Of course, it comes down to ourselves to seek out career opportunities.

We're on March 15, 2020. Will you still be on board?
There's a chance that might be the day I go home. Maybe I'll see you on the gangway!

OR....your contract is terminated?
Well if for some reason I really didn't want to be transferred, I can always ask to go home. But nobody wants to be unemployed.

We'll be on Mariner in January! We usually do not venture into the casino, but hopefully will see you around!! We have sailed on Adventure in the past and are looking forward to seeing Mariner and the new updates!! This will be our kids first cruise. My husband and I have cruised a few times.
I'm actually transferring to Oasis in 2 weeks, so unfortunately we won't get the chance to meet.

Congratulations! Booked for September 20th, 2020 if you're still on her (or back on for another contract?) I'll definitely say hi!
More responsibility? Too soon to share the news?
My contract is set to finish in March. I'm not sure what my plans are yet after. Chances are I'll be assigned a different ship by September.

Thats fantastic, well done man
The does bring up a question or to though...
How often would you switch ships normally? and when you get notified how long is it till you're transferred? I'm sure you make a lot of friends being in such a close knit community, hope you get a chance for a wee send off before you disappear
It's actually very common to be transferred during a contract. This is usually due to promotions or buisness needs. Sometimes you will be notified ahead of time, sometimes you may get asked to be transferred immediately.
The thing is, we don't get a choice as to whether we can stay or go. Once we get told we are to be transferred, we have to go.
