  1. This is another area where Travel Agents are your best friends. If you have a list of "must haves, nice to haves, and don't wants" a good TA will be able to point you to the best options.
  2. The "ice cream" machines on Royal ships don't dispense sufficiently cold product to achieve that tower. You're lucky if you can get more than an inch of product to stay on top of the cone.
  3. Probably poor use of the data. Reality - average spend per cruise passenger $132 is a one day number. Average spend per person staying overnight has to be total spend for however long they stay. 10X is not unrealistic because it includes accommodations and multiple meals per day, not to mention multiple days of buying souvenirs and other cr*p they don't need.
  4. With my asthma, it doesn't even require heat to cause other issues. I am very attuned to my body and its responses to environmental stimuli as it relates to my condition. I have noticed that my body temperature begins to rise soon after starting to wear the mask even in an air conditioned office. My employer is currently requiring temperature scans to enter the building and wearing of masks while on site. Thankfully, my role has been primarily WFH since mid-March because on the few occasions it has been necessary for me to go into the office, I have been miserable with the mask for even a short time. Yesterday was one such time I needed to go into the office briefly and I decided to perform an informal experiment. I asked the employee doing the temperature scan to write down my reading on entering the building and then to check me again as I exited. In just 20 minutes of non-exertion wearing a mask in a comfortable indoor environment, my scannable temperature rose 0.9 degrees. It takes an hour and a half mowing the lawn (self-propelled walk behind mower) in the hot sun to do the same. Masks = bad news for me.
  5. Could I cruise without the option to disembark at a port? Yes, as there is plenty to do onboard. Would I WANT to do so? Not particularly as I enjoy the variety, even if all I do is walk around the market area or do some general sightseeing (which I do more often than I take formal shore excursions).
  6. They'll make shakes at the Ben & Jerry's location on Deck 5.
  7. Location based - Waterfront Brewery Selection based - The Porch
  8. Drink, Drink, and Drink. You might also find a few places where you can experience a contact high from all the blue smoke.
  9. I was going to suggest that @Baked Alaska looks to be in need of a haircut.
  10. Our son keeps a copy of the x-ray showing the titanium rods and pins in his leg from a seventh grade skiing accident.
  11. The WHO released the "rare infection from asymptomatic individuals" statement yesterday. In the US, the early release of the CDC July newsletter includes an extensive article on the evidence for spread of the infection by pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals. The two major health agencies ("experts") are not aligned on how this spreads, so...
  12. In the new world of 2020 and all the changes, that remains to be seen. I don't think I would want to take a chance of "spending" it to find out that it was gone because it had been "used." I doubt any unused OBC related to all the current swirl will be lost but what has already been "spent" might be. Impossible to fully predict at this point.
  13. You can't come in my casino with a high temperature, but since we had to convert the scanners your guns and knives are now okay.
  14. Don't use your OBC for CP purchases on a cruise that you fear will be cancelled. Used OBC isn't typically refunded in the same way as CC purchases. OBC tends to be "use it on the cruise or lose it forever - even if the cruise is cancelled."
  15. Still delays the boarding for something temporary and far from infectious.
  16. Not sure how delaying or denying boarding to an individual experiencing a temporary thermal anomaly keeps anybody safe. The more likely issue is for those who spent too much time in too much sun with too little SPF protection. That situation DOES elevate the temperature on your skin, potentially to a level that would raise concerns with a thermal scanner.
  17. RC Math 1+1= somewhere between pi/2 and (2*pi)/3. Anything more complicated than 1+1 requires an advanced degree in WTF.
  18. The ONLY part of your money guaranteed to be returned hassle-free in case of a cancellation of your cruise.
  19. That's easy - watching sunrise without worrying about being anywhere anytime soon.
  20. February 2021 item is the least likely to come to pass.
  21. Because: A) Groups of people living in close proximity (which is why the poorest neighborhoods in large cities have the highest infection rates), and B) EVERYONE in the facilities has a minimum of one significant risk factor (age) and most likely have several more.
  22. Vitamin Water is included in any beverage package on ships that have Freestyle machines. On such ships, the soda package is worthwhile for me because I use it for PowerAde Zero and Vitamin Water as my ways helps in staying properly hydrated.
  23. A few days ago I either read on an internet forum or heard in a conversation (forget which - it all runs together these days) "I'm just looking forward to when this coronavirus thing isn't part of every conversation." Be careful what you wish for, whoever said/posted it.
  24. A little Freudian slip there @coneyraven? Wishful thinking? I would say that at this point, very few ships are "for sail" relative to the number that are for sale.
  25. Worried - probably not. Justifiably miffed/perturbed/angry/ticked - absolutely!
