To answer your question - visit a State Park for a hike (level of difficulty your choice). Do some wine tastings - many wineries are open with limited space availability (which hasn't been an issue relative to the number of people visiting in our recent experience).

Ferries are transportation from one place to another (even if it takes overnight). They don't qualify as holidays.

All of those excursions require a transfer by boat to the mainland followed by a bus ride. Reverse the bus and boat for the return.
