  1. July was my first time at CocoCay and I probably fed those aggressive gulls a full tortilla by tossing little pieces of my six tacos (gotta try all the meats and all the add-ons and they just don't fit in less than six).
  2. The best part of dining on Royal is that you can get as fancy as you want or as basic as you want. There's an option for everyone. The second best part is that you can eat as often as you want and almost whenever you want (I say "almost whenever" because there's no guarantee on the timing of receiving what you order from room service and there are some overnight gaps in the availability of other options).
  3. We just hand them a dollar or two with the SeaPass. Nobody else needs to know it's there.
  4. Rule of thumb - what shows up as $xxx per person INCLUDES all the discounts available based on your search criteria. It does not include taxes and fees. In your case this means it was $450 per person AFTER including the 30% off and KSF. That would be $1800 plus the taxes/fees of $120.43 per person (including the free kids). The total makes perfect sense to me.
  5. $2 less for a slightly bigger room, slightly bigger balcony, and a bathroom without the "space pod" shower is a great deal. Glad you found it. Including gratuities, you'll still be $2 less with that stateroom. JS gets charged the lower daily gratuities rate. Remember to add the prepaid gratuities before they go up next week!
  6. At least the Solarium Bistro is open now. It was not open in May and would have greatly relieved the Windjammer crowds.
  7. If you live in a big enough metropolitan area, you will likely have access to a bank that does currency exchange with a smaller fee than charged at airports. With advance notice, most banks (credit unions?) may be able to accommodate a request to perform an exchange.
  8. Haven't tried this but I would suspect it requires purchasing Voom internet (may require the streaming level of package).
  9. You give your wife money? That's not how it works in our household! SHE gives ME money!
  10. On our most recent cruise that included use of tenders, those who wished to get off the ship in the first half hour didn't require tickets. They could just show up and get on the first ones. If this scenario doesn't apply, you'll want to be at the designated ticket pick up location a good 30 minutes before the designated time and make sure you sit near the front to wait.
  11. I don't recall seeing sushi available in the Windjammer on any recent voyage, even on the Asian-themed dinner night.
  12. Sounds like you're almost complaining that you weren't bombarded with the incessant "washy, washy" that is so familiar. I would LOVE to enter the Windjammer with just a greeting rather than "washy, washy."
  13. Not quite accurate but close. KSF applies to qualified youngsters beginning with passenger number 3. My wife has a cruise scheduled with just herself and our two grandchildren. One grandchild is full fare, the other is KSF.
  14. Coxen Hole Cruise Ship Dock at Mahogany Bay Cruise Terminal
  15. And on every ship. If you've seen the kids' menu once, you know what it is (and it hasn't changed since before June 2019).
  16. And the daily kids' menu doesn't change - check one day and you've checked them all.
  17. It's easiest to bring a supply of smaller bills, but both the casino cashier and guest services are an option for doing this if you run out of small bills mid-cruise.
  18. If you're using an unlimited package, yes the limit is one per Sea Pass per visit to the bar. If you're paying as you go or using Diamond vouchers, you can order more than one at a time per Sea Pass.
  19. The best solution for drinks on your balcony in the evening is to head to a bar, order the drinks, and carry them back to the balcony.
  20. Aren't one set of joints supposed to help the trouble with the other set?
  21. Agree with all the "two rooms is the right answer" folks. If you decided to go with a single stateroom, the minimum size is a Junior Suite and even that doesn't give you the second bathroom (although on newer ships it does give you an extra 1/2 bath).
  22. Many cruisers ARE beach (or pool) people. The private islands give you all the beach (or pool in the case of Coco Cay) you can handle in one day without having to make any special plans. I'm not a beach/pool person either, but found the day at Coco Cay to be very relaxing.
