Hello. Drew was on Liberty last. He seems to be a good CD, but the issue with Freedom is that she will be out of San Juan in October. Coming from the USA, flights are pricey, so add that to a Transatlantic flight from Scotland, we are looking at very expensive flights before the cruise. SJU just isn't very accessible for us. Good suggestion though.

    Have a nice cruise!

About £800 pp for the flights ( thats ABZ to JFK to SJU)

I have already observed BB on Harmony and I already know not to run things the way that he does. No need to observe him again.

Sorry, but if he is running the show, then that TA will be very very boring.

Looks as though you answered your own question before even posting! in your own words "Without sounding arrogant" you have had a lot of good advice here and all you have done is reply stating how bad BB is and how good you would be, and also that your shows would be for a younger crowd ( so are you just going to ignore the older cruisers?) everyone is different! just because you think BB is dated and not funny doesnt mean everyone feels the same, IF you become a CD people may look at you and think your no good because they dont like your show's or think youre arrogant . you cant please everyone some people just like to complain!

  3. mmm millenium street party???? sounds great :) now being 50 THIS year i would need to request music by the like of Avicci, David Geutta, Calvin Harris ( no im not joking ) something loud with a good dancebeat that gets the blood pumping,  you see everyone is different, not all old people like to sit and moan about the noise just as not all young people like a good party.

Me? been there and got the t shirt! thing is i still wear it :4_joy:

I've already had Bobby on 2 cruises, and have learned exactly what not to do from what I have seen from him. If, in 10 years, you are on a cruise and I am your CD, I can assure you that nothing would be run the same way that Bobby runs it. Someone of an older generation would HATE my style, but I would at least care about the guests and their enjoyment of the shows & activities.

OUCH are you saying OLDER people have no sense of humour?

trust me if you are my CD in 10yrs you will see the older generation can be fun :5_smiley: AND some of us are naturally funny without even trying :)

glad you enjoyed the bobby on the 2 cuises :4_joy: ( you may need to google it as it's maybe just a UK slang)

  5. As someone who coached football ( soccer ) for a number of years, i would say this. i learnt a just as much from the BAD coaches as i did from good ones, what i learned from the bad ones was what NOT to do. If this CD is bad maybe scouting him out to see just why he's bad and where he makes mistakes will be of just as much help to you in your future career as spending all your time with only good CDs, because you will know what not to do.

No.  If you're in airplane mode (no cell connection) and don't have a WiFi package, your phone has no ability to communicate with any network while aboard the ship.

This is why i am not purchasing wifi package for myself, peace and quiet for 12 days :6_smile:,  however my wife has demanded wifi pack so she can keep in contact with kids back home as our youngest is making us grandparents for the 1st time before we head away on cruise.

  7. From RC Website

    • The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings originating in North America is twenty-one (21).
    • The minimum age to consume alcohol on Royal Caribbean International ships on sailings from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is eighteen (18).
    • The minimum age to consume alcohol at all private destinations remains twenty-one (21) without regard to where the sailing originated.

these age limits apply to ship, when in port i guess it's the age limit of wherever ship is docked

  8. Europe is made up of 50 countries, each of which is different and has something different to offer unlike most Caribbean islands where it's more for the sun, sea and weed lol. From the Fjords of Norway, the northern lights in Iceland, the canals in Venice to the ancient ruins in Greece, every town or city will offer something new to see. Nothing better than sitting outside a cafe in France or Italy with a cold beer just people watching.

WTH?!?!? This new login site is a total shit show! I was able to log in using Chrome and re-link my existing cruise reservations, but no access to Cruise Planner or anything else?!?

And if I start on the regular home page and click "Already Booked", then "Cruise Planner", and then the get started button (whatever it says), it takes me to another screen where I would have to enter my reservation and email and everything all over again.

God almighty! I have worked in IT doing web site development and deployment for 25 years now, and I have NEVER seen as a big of a cluster *#^% as this new login rollout. RULE 1: DON'T LOSE CUSTOMER DATA OR MAKE PEOPLE REDO THEIR SETUP!!!

take it your not that impressed with the website  :4_joy:

That strategy will not work for women.  A cruise director will not make or break a cruise for me, but a shower/bathroom that is not nice will ?

It is a serious issue.  We spend a whole lot of time in the washroom so it has to be a nice space.  Take her concerns seriously ?

She spends a fortune on all these beauty products and in all honesty give me 6 bottles of beer at a fraction of the cost she spends and results the same :4_joy:
