  1. Cruises are still on the Israeli website for Royal. CruisingPower always had some blocks since they can only be booked in Israel. When they were first released it was reported they weren't fully loaded in CruisingPower.
  2. True but that isn't what has typically been used, so far. But more importantly why would the Port of Miami put all the effort into their vaccinate crew program just so the crew can be shipped off somewhere else? PoM wants ships sailing from PoM. That's why they offered vaccines to crew. It wasn't supposed to be some global crew vaccination effort so that a cruise ship can sail from Europe.
  3. So many questions. Is the US okay vaccinating crew who are then sent somewhere else in the world? Kind of seems like these ports are vaccinating crew so ships can sail in the US from the ports that are offering the vaccination service.
  4. If they are getting a two shot vaccine in Florida that would make an early June start in Haifa a challenge. Min. 3 weeks between doses.
  5. I don't think the vaccine is being handed over to Royal. In Florida crew go on shore, get vaccinated by a local healthcare provider then reboard. It's not like Royal bought cases of vaccine and can ship it where ever they want.
  6. Might not be just the vaccines behind this. It's all rumors and early information. Time will tell.
  7. Maybe they should pick up some Anthem crew and bring them to Florida to get vaccinated. Then they can fly crew to the UK to rejoin Anthem.
  8. With Florida giving out vaccines to crew you'd think they sail over with as many crew as possible. Curious why they are transferring some to Anthem.
  9. July of 2022 shouldn't be an issue and isn't in scope for the act passed by the Senate.
  10. Regardless it's refreshing to see government working with the industry rather than going nuclear and shutting it down.
  11. I try to avoid eating anchovies. It’s a little fishy.
  12. The optics of cruising from Israel while rocket attack headlines dominate the news may not be the media splash Royal was seeking for a brand new ship. Still a few weeks though so much can happen.
  13. CDC Spotter: "Captain, a ship has been spotted on the horizon!" Captain: "Firstmate, ready the crew!" Firstmate: "Load the cannons captain?" Captain: "No! Masks Up!"
  14. So many nuances but I suspect if you posed that question to the governor his interpretation would be very broad. One step at a time. We need to get cruising within our sights before we look for new ways to kill it.
  15. July 2022 should be fine. Canada's cruise ship ban runs until February 2022.
  16. I'm just within the current processing times but will pay the expedite fee to better my odds in case of some other delay coming that no one anticipates.
  17. Maybe they can use the timeslot left vacant when Quantum canceled it's Alaska season for Radiance, unless another line already scooped it up.
  18. We all hope for the best for Singapore. A timely reminder the virus hasn't been defeated. Any news or suggestion on any of that new spread occuring because of cruising?
  19. We are about to see how bipartisan Washington is or is not. For the sake of Alaska cruising I hope for the latter. Should it pass the next issue for Royal will be getting ships into place. Quantum was already ruled out. Do they sail Ovation across the Pacific empty? Tick tock. With every week lost the payback to cover sailing empty and crewing up looks less and less appealing. Ironically I am supposed to be on Quantum right now on day 5 of my Alaska cruise.
  20. Canada is still struggling with the virus. Some stores remain shut in areas. Rolling lockdowns. Second dose 4 months after first dose due to vaccine shortages and rationing. This week they stopped offering the AstraZeneca vaccine contributing to the slow vaccine rollout. IIRC it will be September before the general population will have a decent opportunity to be fully vaxxed. For now they are aiming for a "one dose summer". I think Canada will sit this one out and wait until 2022.
