  1. I am an early riser, (wife tends to sleep in past 10) and also prefer to eat more smaller meals during the day rather than overloading myself during several large meals. That being said I am usually found in the windjammer quite a bit, grabbing a small something in between meals. You are on a cruise and you are allowed to eat as much as you want and are able to eat until your heart is content. Enjoy and eat a kummelweck sandwich, a Caesar salad, and an oatmeal raisin cookie for me please! (not necessarily in the same meal?)
  2. We have twin 13yo girls, we are going to let them do SOME things on their own but not wander alone as of yet. We will have defined meeting times as well as defined areas to stay in. I know that we are protective, but I also know that they can not handle being in that huge of a space all on their own and would get lost extremely easily! I think that it is a personal choice, and knowing your children and how much responsibility that your child can handle. I know that some are able to handle the responsibility of going off on their own at 13 but I know that ours are not, they have an issue finding their way around the local amusement park without guidance and we go there quite a few times every year! So under that premise I know they would get completely disoriented while being onboard a massive Oasis class ship! ?
  3. I would absolutely LOVE for there to be a Jones Act Waiver! There used to be a 2 day cruise to nowhere that left from Norfolk VA, that had to go by the wayside partially due to the Jones Act.
  4. Been on Oasis twice as well as Brilliance of the Seas twice, I do not mind repeating ships, although I have to say the ship for us all depends on if the dates match what we need. If the dates are right we do not care which ship it is on! My worst day on cruise is FAR better than my best day at work!
  5. Gotta love the Stepbrothers reference!!!!!??
  6. Had breakfast at JR on Oasis, I had a scramble with eggs, sausage, and hash browns, and have to say that it was pretty darned good! I would gladly eat there for breakfast again! What made it even better was that it was not crowded at ALL! I was there during the prime breakfast hours and there was maybe 15 people already seated at the most!
  7. I have not used one yet but am looking forward to being able to use one, I know that it will be waiting in our room on Anthem in March and can not wait! I have been on several cruises that I forget to put my sea pass card in my opposite pocket from my cell phone and it gets wiped clean. I also do not like wearing a lanyard certain times such as when I am wearing a suit or in the pool, or hot tub. I know that I will enjoy the convenience of it and look forward to more ships in the fleet having them! There will be times that I may just decide to carry the sea pass card, and there may be times that I exclusively wear the WOW band, it is just nice to have the option to use whatever I am in the mood for.
  8. Going on Anthem on March 30th have a Jr Suite 10238 and from what I hear here I now know that our travel agent really did us a favor! Thank you guys, and @mworkman please let us know how it was. I actually was looking at booking one of those types of rooms for the same reason!
  9. Just checked in for our cruise on Anthem of the Seas in March and there were no waivers either.
  10. I will be there March 30th can't wait! Enjoy for those of us that are still stuck at work please!
  11. This cruise addiction is bad isn’t it? I know that the closer that I get to my cruise the more useless I become at work. I’m just glad that the firewall at my jobs allow this website as well as RCCL through otherwise I’d be in trouble!!??
  12. Thank you @twangster! At first I was actually afraid of doing it, and then I came to my senses and realized what you stated above! I am off almost all of this December and half of November and it makes absolutely no sense not to take advantage of it and spend some of that time out at sea especially since the price is so cheap in that time frame. It only makes sense, and especially since you climb up the tiers much faster! There is no way I will be able to go on 14 cruises in one year but I can assure you that once I retire in about 8 more years it is on! You just helped me to make up my mind, thank you!!
  13. I will end up taking a solo cruise within the next 12 months due to scheduling conflicts, I have been researching this whole thing, and have found that depending on what ship and time of year I cruise it is actually cheaper and better for me to just book a regular room vs a solo room. The price difference is not as significant as I thought it would be, and the benefit of the double cruise points are a definite positive as well. There is a cruise out of Baltimore that is going to cost me a little over$1k for a inside stateroom, if I look at a solo room on a different ship the cost would be more expensive. I do understand that I am not exactly comparing apples to apples but for this particular cruise its just about getting away and I honestly don't care about the ship or the room. I just know that either way I am going to have a great time, double cruise points make it even better! If I do it right this one should take me to Diamond by the time I return.
  14. Thank you all for your answers to this question! We are both allergic to seafood and do love Japanese, we were both wondering the same thing, we are on the wall about purchasing the ultimate dining package for our cruise in March and were curious about Izumi.
  15. We are not emerald yet, we currently have 53 points and have a Jr Suite booked on Anthem in March, I know that we will have to wait until our next cruise to get our Emerald pin, it is just going to be interesting to see if we get it. It isn't a deal buster either way I will still stick with RCCL and am looking forward to moving my way up to the Diamond and Diamond plus level!?
  16. We were platinum prior to our last cruise, and did not get a pin either, we are going up to Emerald on this next cruise in March so we will see what happens!
  17. To be honest I never have needed it, I always have a copy of it available on my phone, and out of 8 cruises I have never been asked for it. The main thing is your Set Sail pass which EVERYONE asks for once you set foot inside the terminal. As long as you have that and you know your balance is $0 and have everything set I really would not worry about it. I am just jealous that you have 2 more cruises booked than I do! Please enjoy!
  18. It may be in your SPAM folder, I had the same problem happen and that is where mine was. Or it could be a honest mistake, but either way a quick call should solve the issue?
  19. I had the same issue with our last cruise and called, and was told the same thing. We ended up having to call several more times (over several months) to get credit, not sure why it took so long but each person told us that the problem was solved but it was not. Patience and persistence!?
  20. ABSOLUTELY, I would gladly loose a stop or two in order to gain a free cruise! I work in healthcare and am constantly using hand sanitizer and washing my hands when in this kind of environment. It is ridiculous how people use the bathroom and do not wash their hands, and then decide that they go to the buffet and start eating WITHOUT touching any hand sanitizer. (Yes I have seen it happen personally)? I guess some don't realize that "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" to quote Leonard Nimoy.
  21. ?This is the absolute truth, cruising is my addiction and I can tell you that my part time job money goes straight to cruising!
  22. I love them, but try to shy away from them and eat most meals in the MDR or a restaurant to try and minimize my chance of exposure! I also ensure that I have a small bottle of antibacterial hand sanitizer as well. After seeing quite a few men, use the bathroom and not touch any soap and water my mind was made up!
  23. Going on Anthem on March 30th for the first time on a Quantum class, and we are staying in a Jr as well, absolutely can not wait!
  24. I have a bin that I keep all of the gift cards that I get, I place them there and every now and again look at them and reminisce about the wonderful times! Although I have to admit, that the closer I get to a cruise the more I look at them! ?
