  1. This is the only time I'd not mind being hunted.
  2. Feel better soon! Reset the countdown clock.
  3. I think this is on the extreme side AND I fully support it. Anyone who has been sick on any trip knows what it's like and it's awful. You're constantly trying to pull through when all you want to do is sleep but you don't want to miss anything. I don't have anything special, I used to make sure I take my probiotics and vitamins daily about 2 months ahead and then I realized that it was stupid and I should always take these things. I just need something to do for the airplane which I think is where I've gone wrong before and gotten sick. If you've read any of my posts before you know my surroundings are fully wiped down so that's not it - but I did travel to Italy this past summer (8-9 flights) and did not get sick so maybe I figured it out.
  4. I love this so much. This is how I should spend my work days.
  5. But but but - you just brought it to this thread.
  6. I've ridden the train for over 15 years and today was the first time I've ever smelled cleaning products. Not sure what one intensive cleaning is going to do for more than a day. Costco was holiday packed when I went. I genuinely needed to stock up - as I do about once a month. It was nuts.
  7. Already sold out. This is gonna be a fun few months. My favorite wipes are on backorder. sigh. ?
  8. I get the part about not having to worry about what you're spending. The best advice I can offer you is to set an amount for a bar bill you're okay spending and make that your budget. That's my plan for my next set of cruises. The first leg the DX makes total sense but the 2nd leg seems overkill. I'm setting aside a certain amount of cash to leave on my seapass for whatever alcohol I may want. Worst case scenario I have to +/- a few bucks but at least it's been budgeted for.
  9. Sitting on a chair on a balcony or anywhere I can see, hear, smell the ocean with my book and a cup of coffee when I'm solo. Being with friends after dinner also on a balcony or anywhere I can see, hear, smell the water with a cocktail, everyone just chatting and getting along after a long happy day.
  10. I keep reading about the mainstream news overblowing the corona virus. I'm going to be honest here, I watch quite a bit of mainstream news, it's the background noise in my home for a lot of the daytime - I don't feel like it's being over done. I know I need to be more careful when I'm out of my home, especially at work and on the train. I'm not overly worried at the moment and follow the news to figure out how close it is and if there is anything I need to do. I have family close by who work in the local hospital and get updates from them when needed. I'm just not seeing this "news media over exaggerating everything".
  11. Depends on the ship if it's good or not. Had a great one on Anthem and a yucky one on Harmony. The cut of the meat was the issue.
  12. I love the ocean. I love any body of water but the ocean is the most amazing thing to me. Waves make me happy and take any worries away. Grew up on an island (peninsula) and going to the beach isn't just a summer thing. Many memories from a child to this past summer are from the beach. I am my best self near water (don't care how dumb that sounds) because I'm calm and relaxed. There are so many things to love on a cruise but just being on the water is the number one. I'm mainly a Caribbean cruiser because of ^^^ but I'd like to go back to Italy from a cruise perspective. Or to go Greece. Or any part of Europe that is cruisable. Thanks to blogs here Alaska is finally a thought for the future. Don't care what ship at the moment.
  13. I almost spit my water out. Thank you.
  14. They're currently sold out on Amazon. That's what I use.
  15. Also, thanks for all this - because of this post I ordered the wipes I like because I'm out and it'll they're on back order. Who know if I'll need them right now but it's good to have just in case.
  16. People have laughed at me while I wipe my seat down, the neck rest, the tray table, anything I may come into contact with and if I can, the person next to me. I've also had people ask for a wipe. I take medical grade ones on the plane. I'm not sure how effective it all is but I have a bad tendency to touch my face or bite my nails so I like to be protected. Plus, I've gotten noro before and it was one of the worst sicknesses I've ever had. I haven't gotten the flu in a decade - not saying it's all the wipes and stuff but it makes me feel better.
  17. Me. I work in NYC and take mass transit. I wouldn't say I'm not worried but I need more information before I get too concerned or else I'm going to be a nervous wreck being around so many people. It's how I cope and I know I'm not the only one.
  18. I would advise against bringing a canister of anything. I forgot my SONO wipes (medical grade, Amazon) and picked up Lysol wipes on the way to the airport. My stuff got searched by the airport security, said it was because of the canister. He also said it's not illegal to bring but I'm advising against because who wants their stuff searched? I usually put whatever I have in a ziplock bag and that's never been a problem nor have travel packs of wipes. EDIT: I put in carry on luggage, not checked. Thanks @Lovetocruise2002
  19. Love Arancini or rice balls. Italian food is big where I am plus I grew up eating them, I don't think they're bland if there is enough cheese in 'em.
  20. Sadly, no. Only the first 2 Odyssey's are booked at the moment.
  21. One day we'll actually be on the same cruise!
  22. Short Story - Spelled out initials. Long story - There is another Lisa is my close friend group and the first initials of our last names sound similar so I go by LC. On Facebook I do another variation on my name because I'd prefer not to be found easily. (There's a crazy story attached to why I semi-hide but you'd have to give me a few shots of Kraken first.)
  23. Not like you can't cancel and be refunded for anything. I never now what to do with the word "foodie". I like food a lot, I like good food, I like to try things. I think for a first cruise maybe you try a few nights of specialty dining but also try the complimentary. There is such thing as food coma. Also, sometimes you don't need an excursion for every port but that's up to you. Sometimes it's fun just to take a walk or grab a cab and go to a beach and chill. Unless it's who you are, don't set up this vacation and need to relax from it when you come home...again, though, some people like the constant go. I'm also team DX (drink package)...not having a bar/coffee/water bottle bill when you leave the ship is great.
  24. Snake being lured out of a basket. I'm thinking side street of India and some man is playing a flute like instrument, cue snake.
