I think there will be some cancellations, and maybe mid-January, more cabins could be available. If you can wait till then, possibly you can get what you want. I hope you get it worked out, whichever cruise line you guys sail with. 🙂

Planner purchases are typically cancelled when ships change. We were hoping that would transition, but apparently the software won’t allow it, or it is too cumbersome to do so. I have to rebook mine as well, so will watch for a good sale. 🙂
There are a lot of balcony cabins. If you booked thru a TA, they should be able to get you all together again. If not, a call to customer service will rectify that.  I think you can get the cabin situation remedied pretty easily. 🙂  I suggest calling early in the day, if you need to call. The lines aren’t as tied up then.

So annoyed with where we have been moved! ‘Like for Like’ more like ‘Nothing Like’. We had four side by side Balconies towards the aft booked on Harmony for family as part of my sister’s honeymoon. We now have two at the aft (not side by side) and two at the very front on the opposite side of the ship. They have separated my 5 year old niece from her parents by the length of the ship and don’t seem at all bothered!
Everything purchased in the Black Friday cruise planner sale has also been cancelled which is totally unnecessary. Drinks packages, Wi-Fi, Coco Cay cabana all cancelled, which to me is just greed as they will no doubt cost more now to rebook. It’s only the ship that has changed so why cancel our cabana? So pissed off with constant things like this from Royal.

Sorry but that’s simply not true. I’m in the UK, I work for a large organisation and do not know anyone, including myself that has changed the way they book holidays (vacations) due to Brexit.

Completely agree that Brexit isn’t affecting bookings, more likely it’s  the price of the cruises that are being asked for RCI.

They didn't reduce capacity in the UK during the recession 10 years ago, even though Indy was their flagship at the time that the recession began. Might be some food for thought.
And if Brexit was going to be as devastating as you predicted, why did RCI even consider having Indy back in 2020?

Did it with hand held and it worked great as no straps obstructed the view as they would have done with head mount and when in laid back position head angle would have been wrong.
Thanks for all your advice and info.

There are two positions they teach you.  One is laying back with legs pointed out and crossed.  The other is sitting up with your legs spread and arms up.  The latter produces more drag and slows you down.
Depending on conditions that day, they'll consider your body weight and tell you when to switch from the 1st position to the 2nd position.  For light people they'll likely tell you stay in the 1st position until just before the landing zone.  For heavier people like myself they'll tell you to change positions part way down.
There are five globes mounted on a cable that parallels the zip line.  I think they are there so aircraft can see them and not fly into the wires.  They'll say something like at the second to last ball change positions.

Both my daughter and I used a hand held with the zip line in March 2018.  Yes, they tell you to use both hands but they didn't stop anyone from using a hand held camera. It could have been a less strict staff or we may not have worried about the rules unless they would have said something at the top.
The excursion staff will suggest you to grab the handle bar based on your weight and the weather conditions.  My DD18's run, staff told her not to hold the handle bar until the end and to make sure she laid back for most of the flight to ensure she got down.  My bigger football player DS15, was told to make sure sat up and he grabbed the handle bar about half way down to slow down.  I just grabbed the handle bar one handed when I came in at the end.  No one was told to grab the handle bar the entire way down.
It wasn't a violent motion coming in but your legs do kick up.

My wife and girls did their run in April of this year. It’s quite possible they just got some stricter staff and not all are that way, or as @twangster said they may have tightened up the rules this year.
I didn’t see any indication of head mounts coming off or loose in the videos I saw, but I’ve never used a GoPro so I don’t know what options there are with that.

It's not violent.  If it were lots of people would have neck issues.  Your feet fly up from momentum but I don't recall any strong head forces.

A crew member on our last cruise on Navigator suggested my wife drank ginger ale and ate a green apple to help with sea sickness. She had used wrist bands and Dramamine up to that point but felt much better after she started with the Apple and ginger ale.

We did the transatlantic from Southampton to Boston/New York on Navigator last November. The captain deviated off the planned route and south through the Bay of Biscay to avoid a storm coming from the north but we still had some rougher seas. My wife gets sea sick and spent quite a bit of time feeling rough and in bed the first few days. She had tablets and wristbands but they didn’t make much difference. In passing conversation one day with our cabin steward he said to eat a green apple (got to be green for some reason) and drink ginger ale. Although on some days she she didn’t like the up and down motion in the theatre she felt so much better for the rest of the cruise.
At least one green apple a day and ginger ale is worth a try. It’s a big ship though and I didn’t particularly feel it moved a lot but I don’t get seasick so it’s easy for me to say that!

MattHird reacted to Rose City Cruiser in Labadee question re: loungers
They are similar to the ship's deck loungers but plastic framing.
There are plenty of them and you will not have a problem getting a spot on Adrenaline Beach side.  I do recommend moving over to the other side(Barefoot Beach) after the zip line.  The water is much calmer and does not have as many sharp rocks.

MattHird reacted to twangster in Labadee question re: loungers
    I love Labadee.
These are the typical loungers that are available and are included at no cost.

This area is called Columbus Cove and the beach is better for swimming but there are no views of the zip line here.

This is the area near the zipline

Both beaches are beautiful but the water here is more rocky on this side as it is exposed to the Atlantic more.  If anyone plans to swim bring water shoes.
The first picture was taken early in the day before many people had left the ship and you can see how easy it is to get loungers.  If you have a large group and you want shade that might be harder to come by as the day progresses but generally speaking it isn't too difficult to find something.  A small tip to a beach attendant goes a long way and they are locals who can always use the money in a country where a good job is hard to come by.  They can help find a few chairs and group them together for you.

You can get beach chairs for no cost (usually just a cash tip for the locals to help set it up for you.
The clam shell loungers have a cost to them that you need to prebook.
