¡Este es muy delicioso!
You had to outdo me with the proper Spanish double exclamation points? I'm on a laptop, I only know how to use foreign punctuation on my phone.

Honorable mention to cafe con leche, a strong shot of espresso with hot milk added. In strength perhaps similar to a flat white, but with none of you nonsense foam! And yes, that is Malagueña style churros in the shot too!
You lost me with those other beverages, then you got to the good part, lol. Cafe con leche y churros? What's Spanish for YUM? Ahora tengo hambre!

The amount of FB posts in my June 2nd group regarding the weather is out of control. I get that there are plenty of first time cruisers who want a perfect vacation but yeesh! You'd think there was a tropical storm in the forecast, not some possible rain.
In lighter news, my wife did a bunch of packing so far today. As usual, I haven't really done anything and won't until tomorrow.
Real life stuff is trying to get in the way again; doing my best not to let it.

That is the suite area, so I know I won’t need to go around there
+1
We'll go between 4 and 16 just fine.

Even in the speciality restaurants you get inconsistency. I remember raving about the banana split in Jamie's on Anthem so I ordered it in Jamie's on Symphony and it was a real disappointment. You win some, you lose some.
Agreed. I tried the osso buco at GK on Wonder last summer (not something I normally order but our server just about insisted I try it) and I loved it. Last month on Wonder it wasn't nearly as good (it had way too much of the sauce or whatever else is in the dish and the veal got lost in it). No biggie of course, I could order half the menu and everything else was excellent.
On the flip slide, the first time I ordered carbonara there I didn't like it at all and I love carbonara. The next tried I tried it, it was very good.

Fair point and the best part about cruise dining is the ability to get a different entree(s) no question asked.
100%. That's why when I mention that I don't love the MDR I usually follow it up by saying I don't really care b/c I can order something else or just go find more food after. I like snacking off and on all day anyway so my main dinner isn't a huge deal, unless we're doing specialty, then I try to be good and stuff myself there.

Maybe I just had a bad piece of chicken.
That's definitely possible. I've ordered the same item multiple times on same ship a couple months apart before and had it come out great one time and inedible another. There will always be some inconsistency with banquet style dining.

Devil on my shoulder! I'll blame it on you! LOL!
@Lovetocruise2002 also says YOLO and book it. I'm sure she'll be willing to share the blame.

We can book Symphony out of Bayonne in early OCT this year (GTY neighborhood balcony) for just over $1,700 plus Royal is throwing in $200 OBC as part of the promo! Sooo tempting since we just drive and park! We sooo badly want to sail Symphony (had it booked and cancelled due to pandemic)!
Do it! Nice deal and Symphony will be the only Oasis class ship missing from my bingo card in 2 days. It's the only one that has never home ported at PC.

I think I prefer a White Russian over the Monkey Business... maybe I was expecting more banana flavor?
I was expecting banana too if it's got actual puree and the banana liquor. That's what made my wife even want to try it (she'd just ditch the coffee part). Oh well, maybe my bartender will use more banana.

It's almost like you were cruising for the ports or something, lol. I'll have plenty of time and vouchers to try as much as I want. I'll try almost anything once (when it's free).
2 hours ago, JohnK6404 said:I just think the usual Lava Flow, Frozen Daquiris, Frozen Mojitos, Mudslides, Coco Locos, etc., that you can get almost anywhere onboard are better IMO.
Yeah, like I said, the frozen drinks didn't look all that exciting to me. I might try the one with red bull yellow in it since we're trying to stay awake for some late night stuff for a change (but I'm probably better off with an actual red bull or grabbing an espresso from the CL).

For sure, even I wind up hating every drink I try (unlikely) I'd rather pass by a tiki bar than that waste of space robot arm.

Royal is horrible with allergy requests.
Sorry to hear about your experience. My young niece has severe nut allergies and they've always taken very good care of her. It may help that she only eats like 5 things though.

Yes, it is Firefox.
I had issues with Firefox yesterday but then it began working again. Clicking around, most seem to work but I see the ones related to searches that don't.
Definitely seems like a Firefox issue.

I had no idea that we could switch as you mentioned. Thanks!
No problem. I used to book GTY's all the time and the ability to switch took a lot of the gamble out of it back then when ships weren't all so crazy full. Even if we were perfectly fine with what we got there was usually somewhere we liked a little better for one reason or another.
We had a neighborhood balcony GTY on Wonder last month and while waiting for our assignment I kept checking inventory and watched as there were fewer and fewer left. We got lucky in the end. First we got CP, which we preferred to Boardwalk, but it was a connecting cabin. There were maybe 5 other CP balconies left and one was very close to exactly where my wife wanted to be so switched to that one (she had more of an opinion than me, I didn't care a ton, just didn't want deck 14 or a connecting).
GL! Please share how it turns out.

Mine only has brunch, no dinner even though the Dining Dept insists it’s available
CP nonsense. It will eventually show up. I still prefer brunch but loved the dinner ribs last Month.

I had the teriyaki salmon and it was delicious.
I’d love an Asian night & if they would be able to put teryaki sauce on a chicken breast my wife would eat that. Haven’t seen the menu in a while but I remember thinking it looked good.

**ACTUAL PRE-CRUISE UPDATE**
Nothing exciting of course but at least it’s on-topic.
Wife is officially off for the summer.
We took out some cruise stuff yesterday and will leisurely pack this weekend. I doubt I’ll do anything until tomorrow since my clothes from last month’s cruise have been upstairs in a guest room closet since we got back & did laundry just waiting for the next one.
I hit the bank last week for tip money. The amount of singles I needed to replenish let me know I did a better job with vouchers last time. Progress!
Currently in bed listening to the rain. Weather could be iffy next week but that’s June in the Bahamas (and here). Nothing would ruin the cruise, of course. We’ll just make sure to claim Solarium seats early if it’s raining in Nassau. Only want good weather there so people will get off the ship. I’m thinking of them of course, it’s not b/c I selfishly want the ship to empty out.
And obviously we want to get off at PDCC but we have no problem with some rain there as long as it doesn’t last all day. The plus side is we have all the new shows to see on top of our usual onboard routine so this one is as much for the ship as any!
@WAAAYTOOO - Should I message you through the forum when it gets closer to the 8th when we’ll be at PDCC? By all means don’t change plans for me, especially if it rains, but if hopping off the ship to say hi works, you can tell me what’s easiest. We’re usually settled by the pool very early & can do whatever works for you.
That’s all for now.

tried the Monkey Business… just OK IMHO… not memorable
Darn, that one looked good to me and I was waiting for someone to try it. Oh well, I got a review 2 days before I sail, lol. Thanks for posting. I’ll be trying it anyway of course, that’s what vouchers are for.
7 hours ago, JohnK6404 said:I liked the festive vibe of the bar, but we were not overly impressed by the drinks we tried.
I plan to try a few others but won’t be going through the whole menu. I tend to save frozen drinks for the Solarium/pool & some of those didn’t look super interesting to me anyway.

Sorry you have to deal with crap like this when you should just be excited about a last minute cruise.
Hope it gets taken care of ASAP!

Tried out the Cabana bid for our cruise next week and we won! We saved over 70% by bidding. Process was super easy (just like RoyalUp) and was confirmed 7 days before sailing and 2 days after I put in our bid. Cabanas were going for ~$2900 for this crusise, and we snagged one for $600
Congrats! What type?

On our Serenade of the Seas Sep/Oct 2026 B2B2B cruises there are 3 set times for Main Dining: 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00. My time dining starts at 7:00 now. We like dining around 6:30 so this is perfect for us.
This started a while ago but has been rolled out slowly and varies by ship. Many ships do not have the middle option (yet).
There have been reports, however, of people selecting MTD and choosing 6:30 or 6:45 for most of the entire cruise and being assigned a set middle time with a set table like traditional dining instead of MTD... you just can't select it in advance. I know this was the case on Wonder, for example.

always get the Caesar!
That's funny, one reason we avoid the MDR is b/c for over half the standard menus my picky wife would wind up ordering Caesar salad and grilled chicken... not b/c she loves them, she just won't eat anything else. Clearly you're a huge Caesar fan.

Someone asked what you wear to the silent TOGA party.
This is one step above the tourists who have been known to ask what time the 3:00 parade is at Disney (yes, that's a real thing).
