cruise-y
I see on the cruise planner that you can book a reservation for the Izumi Hibachi (for $45) but I don't see a way to just book just the Izumi sushi restaurant. I know the sushi restaurant is ala carte, but shouldn't I still be able to book a reservation? Surely one doesn't just show up. Do you have to do the hibachi? I hope someone can help. Thank you! WAAAYTOOO
No, you do not have to do the hibachi. The sushi side is a completely different area. There should be a way to book just the sushi side. Is there no hibachi option on Anthem ? I just went into my Cruise Planner to look at the reservations options and I don't see anything BUT the sushi side option. Someone else will have to help you with what to look for in your Cruise Planner as I don't have an O class ship booked right now.

My cruise planner doesn’t give me an option for booking just the sushi. Only the hibachi! I guess I’ll have to give them a call.
Matt
I'm surprised you don't see the non-hibachi option. It should show up as a $0 cost since you pay for what you order
cruise-y
Must be a glitch. I’ll let you know what they say after I call. Thanks!
cruise-y
I was told the sushi only option was full and that’s why it doesn’t show up on my Cruise Planner. Bummer. But, supposedly, I can check in to the restaurant directly once on board and make a reservation then. They do require a deposit which is applied to your a la carte meal. ellcee
Last week we made reservations 15 minutes before we walked in. It was dead. I wouldn't rule out just walking in and asking.

I don't think those seats are included in the reservation system. Moreover, if you show up right when they open, I've always had good luck getting a table . KLA
I never saw reservations available for Izumi on Adventure and I'm not seeing the option for Mariner. I think it's walk up only.
WAAAYTOOO
We usually make reservations when we go to Izumi but I don't remember whether they were ever available on the Cruise Planner, ahead of time, or not. We usually make our reservations for Izumi after we board.
Baked Alaska
We are 369 days our from our Alaska southbound and I've already made my Izumi rezis on Radiance, FWIW.
JLMoran
I have Izumi sushi available in my cruise planner for Anthem, but for a while there it wasn't visible at all. So you may just need to give it time to show up.
MelissaM
I am going on Adventure of the Seas in August 2019 - My husband and son love sushi, I only like it. So I wanted to see if they could just go for lunch while I go hit the spa. Do you need a reservation for lunch?

My friend made the reservation right before we walked in (say 15 before) and except for a small party we were the only people in there. Not necessary and it was a sea day. Perhaps it's not a bad idea to call/book just in case though. MelissaM
WAAAYTOOO
I wouldn't think you would have a problem for lunch but better safe than sorry
Matt
For lunch, reservations are not critical. Doesn't hurt, but you cant even book lunch reservations in some cases online. MelissaM
