SoCalYeags
We will be sailing on Wonder in June (84 days, can't wait!) and will hit Platinum in Crown and Anchor, it's official we are cruisers. I just wish we wouldn't have wasted those points on other lines! Regardless, we are going to be booking Icon for next year and I was wondering what the discount was for platinum on balcony and suites as it looks to the be the only real perk that matters at this level. Should we wait to book Icon? We can be pretty picky about our rooms, and Icon is booking up fast. Due to the cost (which still seems a bit excessive IMO) I wanted to know if it was worth it to potentially save a few dollars that will inevitably be spent elsewhere at one of the many many upcharge locations onboard. Thanks!
SpeedNoodles
I wouldn't wait. The price is likely to go up and negate your discount anyway, and your choice of rooms won't be as good. TessFromFlorida, RCIfan1912, USFFrank and 4 others
twangster
The balcony discount gets better as you climb higher up the CAS ladder. Unfortunately it is not a fixed amount off all balcony fares. The balcony discount is often not combinable with other sales promotions and you will likely find that, depending on the ship and sail date, at the lower levels of the Crown and Anchor Society other sales and promotions can yield a better fare. It all depends on the ship and sail date so maybe it will work out for you on one cruise but not another. As you climb higher the discounts increases and more frequently it becomes effective. As advised I would not wait 3 months to find out. If you see a cruise you like I'd suggest booking it now. Sharla
Book now and reprice after you get more status. I don't think it will be lower, so book now just in case. I have seen no discounts even for Pinnacle guests on many many sailings.
CyclingVa
I agree. Especially for platinum. It probably wont benefit you at all due to not being combinable with other offers. When I hit Platinum i was excited as well however, I never saw any real discounts from it because Royal was always running a fake promotion like they always do. I remember 1 cruise they wouldnt even give me my stock holder onboard credit due to specials I had received. I feel like the only benefits from lower level C&A is discounts off of items like a Percentage off Spa procedures, discounts on zoom etc..... Katiemay0101
I made Platinum this past year and noticed I got better prices from the "sales" or through the casino (I'm Prime and get offers pretty regularly). I haven't really noticed any new perks with making platinum. Book the cruise now and if the price drops you can always reprice before the final payment is due if it drops. Happy Cruising!
