odyssey of the seas obstructed view room 6656

Traveling on Odyssey of the seas in a month and was assigned room 6656 listed as obstructed view balcony.  Was wondering if anyone has photos of views from this room to see what the obstructed view will be?  Or room similar 6650, 6652. 6654 or 6658 or opposite side 6250, 6252, 6254, 6256, 6258.'

There are lifeboats on the deck below, which blocks the direct view down to the ocean.  I checked photos on cruisedeckplans.com (and memories from the ship when I was on it).

Youtube is full of room tour videos and Google image search will find plenty of options.  Just type in the ship name and various room numbers until you find what you need.

Here's a photo from the balcony of 6665 on Ovation.  Odyssey will be basically the same.

Not that Cabin or Ship, but here is a couple views from 6690 on Quantum (same ship class). Obstructed? Yes, but it’s not like all you see is a yellow lifeboat when you open the curtains every morning.

The thing about Odyssey is that the lifeboats are not laid out in exactly the same way as they are on the earlier Q-class ships so you can't rely on pics and videos from those ships in this case. You need to find actual Odyssey ones.

@twangster do you still have that preliminary diagram you did pre-launch?

I'll be on an Obstructed View on Odyssey in a few weeks. I used photos of the side of the ship to pick one that was as unobstructed as possible. Mine is at the end of a row, so there's the bar that holds the lifeboat partially in front of the balcony but the left side is basically fully open without an obstruction. You get what you pay for. If you want to stare out at the ocean in the distance without a lifeboat preventing you from seeing down, get a regular balcony. But for the lesser cost, an Obstructed View is a nice option.

I know ships aren't all the same, so was hoping to get lucky with an actual photo of a view from Odyssey of the see room 6656.   Some photos from similar class ships you see just top of lift boats; some you see the top 1/3. Just curious how obstructed my view will be.

Well, I've just had a look at the deck plans and @twangster's plan above and from those it appears that #6656 on Odyssey is pretty much the same as #6654 on Anthem, which I sailed in in April 2023. Pics below. I hope they help and turn out to be accurate for Odyssey.

We loved the layout of this cabin. It's one of the so-called "square" cabins and we preferred it to the longer, narrower standard cabins as there was more room to move about. The only thing is, the shape means you get an armchair instead of a sofa but hopefully that won't be an issue for you.
