On board credit

Recommended Posts

Yes, it's just a credit to your account...so, if you do nothing, they still apply it.  If the OBC came from the cruise line, it's nonrefundable--IOW use it or lose it.  If its from your TA, it's most likely refundable, so, if any is left at the end of your cruise, they credit it back to your account.  When we cruise Celebrity or Princess and we have nonrefundable OBC and "all-inclusive" bookings (gratuities, drinks, wifi included in cruise price), we usually use it to book shore excursions.  On RCCL, where our bookings are "cruise-only" but we have lots of free C&A drink vouchers, if we don't book shore excursions, it usualy gets eaten up by gratuities.  If we have any left over, it usually means a T-shirt buying visit to the gift shop or a specialty restaurant dinner.  Some people use it to gamble in the casino--or use the casino to "launder" the OBC into cash.
