JLMoran
Saw this term for the Quebec / Bayonne itinerary coming next year for Adventure. What does it mean that the trip is "Open Jaw"? RobertoRem
androckb
In the simplest terms, an open jaw cruise (or any trip itinerary, in general) is one that begins and ends in a different port (or city, if you're flying).
DocLC
I've done a couple of these. One from Stockholm to Copenhagen and another Montreal to Boston. They just can't be from one US port to another. They're particularly good if you want to add on some pre and post cruise days in the embarkation and disembarkation ports. Airfare can sometimes be tricky, but if you're creative you can sometimes get around this.
Matt
I have never heard that term before, so I learned something today RestingBird, androckb and KLA
androckb
I've heard the term more frequently in relation to flights than cruises. It sometimes makes sense financially to fly out of and back into different airports if there are multiple options nearby. Like the NYC area, or even like here in Tampa with the main airport(TPA) and smaller regional (PIE) only a few miles apart across the bay. michelle
yep- airline term - and these can be really good cruises that start and end somewhere different I agree DocLC
mathbees
And here I thought it referred to our state of mind... I know I board each cruise with an "open jaw." Lol. :D RestingBird, DocLC and androckb
PRC
Serenade does this in Alaska between Seward and Vancouver. Southbound one week, northbound the next.

Thought it was Radiance that did north and south from Vancouver to Seward.
