ehw51
We hope this might be a good sign, last night we saw our first Sandals commercials. We haven´t seen a vacation ad for about 6 weeks. We live near Pittsburgh and are generally inundated with Atlantis, Sandals, RCI and NCL commercials. Hopefully this is a positive sign. Neesa
NCL actually called me two nights ago. A family friend who swears by them and tried to get us to try them I believe shared the number for our convenience. The young man was sweet, he left a message about this or that great promotion. We were very happy our friends enjoyed NCL and expressed interest not to be rude. We have no desire to "jump ship" and head over to NCL BUT I too was surprised by the call, thinking humm? 28 June 2020 is our next sailing and I am going unless they cancel. We live in the Tampa area and will drive over to Port Canaveral. Until then lying naked in the backyard catching LOTS of sunshine rays, so I am good on the ship. (Very private backyard, no one wants to see that not even me, but I got your attention, no?) (Very private backyard, no one wants to see that not even me, but I got your attention, no?) A few year ago, 2016 I think it was we got an insane deal for an NCL cruise on the Breakaway out of NYC. We thought why not give it a try. Here are my thoughts, NYC/Manhattan port STINKS! Its old and small and to me not built for mega ships like Breakaway. I'm used to Port Liberty NJ and the two can't be compared, Port Liberty wins hands down. Breakaway was beautiful, very beautiful ship but the layout and passenger flow was terrible. Dead ends and bottlenecks. The Cabin we had was FANTASTIC though. AFT Balcony, as in looking back at the wake of the ship and the balcony was HUGE. Price was excellent too. The food was incredible and in my opinion a bit better than RC. Everything else was better on RC and just felt at home when sailing Anthem after that. Since then the fares for NCL have gone nuts too. Sticking with RC going forward, I mean we were anyway because its just our preferred cruise line. LOVE Cape Liberty. Neesa
ehw51
We also love Port Liberty, easy in and out. Parking really nice now, though the outside lot wasn´t that bad. Anthem is our favorite ship. RCIfan1912
coneyraven
Very interesting observation..... we were just mentioning the other day how all commercials have stopped. Everything ranging from Cruise Lines, to Disney, Hilton Hotels, to travel services like Travelocity ..... NOTHING
CrznTxn
Noticed today that the Cruise Planner items for our June and July sailings dropped in price for the first time to their usual "20% off" and "Pre-Cruise Special" rates. Signs that things may be opening up. Also one of the Shore Excursions in Cozumel that was shut down has now opened up for bookings on their website. Hoping that we get to go on one or both of these. Used to sail on NCL and had some great times on them. Then the prices started to go up. Only time we go on them now is with a comp cruise from our local casino although they informed us this year they are switching to Royal.
