Rene Desmarais
Trying to research options on what's available from Airport to Hotel then Hotel to Pan American Pier to board. So far I found that Uber is very limited, taxi is an option.. Lyft was not available. We are staying at the Old San Juan Sheraton and haven't looked i if they offer transportation to port. Anyone have any recommendations or experiences to share?
twangster
Uber isn't allowed on to airport grounds but outside of the airport there is a lot of positive feedback about Uber. Airport taxis should be flat rate plus a small charge per bag. Rene Desmarais
WAAAYTOOO
We are staying at the Sheraton Old San Juan too....we are arriving on April 27 and leaving on Freedom on Sunday, April 28. We usually just do taxis in PR but it's been a few years since we were in PR. We usually stay in the Condado area; this will be our first time in OSJ. I have no idea how far it is to the port from OSJ but figure we will just do a taxi and leave it at that. Rene Desmarais
twangster
By car the Pan American pier (across the bay from San Juan) is about 3 miles. source: Google Maps For context the airport is roughly 8 miles from OSJ. BeatArmy2010
There is a set price schedule from SJU to the various areas for the taxis. We have mostly had good experiences with Uber in San Juan. And Uber is much less expensive. We ate at Condal in January. We were lucky to get in without reservations! I would go there again. I wish I could help...but it's been a number of years since we were in SJ and I am TERRIBLE with names of restaurants. I know we took a bus somewhere....and just wandered around and found somewhere. We've been there 3 times but not in a few years. I believe that you are in the hotel that we stayed at the first time we were in PR. The second time we stayed at the Ritz Carlton and the last time we stayed at the Intercontinental. I know there are restaurants within walking distance of both the Ritz and IC but for the life of me I cannot remember what is around the Condado. I just remember that while there was a beautiful ocean view, the beach really sucked.

I know it's under renovation and should be completed way before we go.

We stayed at the San Juan Marriott Stellaris Casino, which is also on Candado beach, we ate at the Oceano restaurant and would highly recommend it, great food and service, we were able to walk to it from the Marriott. Also the beach at the Marriott was awesome, NJCruisers

I'll have to check it out. Thank you. tiny260

Do a Google map of the Hilton and then have it show nearby restaurants, look up the coast towards where the Marriott is, I saw a dozen different restaurants. Not saying they are all good but you should be able to click on them and check their rating. NJCruisers
fonemanbob
After you arrive talk to the hotel employees and get their take on where to go eat. We did that there 3 years ago and and the restaurant was fantastic. Sorry we don`t remember the name. And with the recent hurricane who knows whats open and available.
