  1. I am planning for my 50th birthday cruise which we have booked the Royal Loft on Oasis during the Jan 24th to Feb 1st, 2026 sailing. We have several friends traveling with us and I kinda would like to get a cabana while at CocoCay. I found that most cabanas will allow up to 8 people. However, I will have my 9-year-old daughter, and another couple will have a 9 yo and 5 yo. With my core group, we will have 8 people total. 5 adults and 3 children. While I am leaning towards a Coco Beach Club cabana or an overwater cabana, I just think the kids would have more fun (and maybe some of the adults) at thrill water park. However, I have been in a cabana there and they have a maximum capacity of 6. I know that in some cases, like the cabanas at South Beach, you can pay $100 for two extra people to bring the total to 10 people. I am wondering if this would hold true at Thrill Waterpark. While I am sure @Matt would say the food is totally worth it at the Coco Beach Club, and the adults will enjoy this area, I would at least like to see if we could squeeze in 8 people at the thrill waterpark. Has anyone had 8 people for a Thrill Waterpark cabana? If so, were there any issues?
  2. I am looking for someone to take photos/vidoes of a proposal on our 5th day (November 8th) at Coco Cay. TIA!!
  3. Today marks 47 days to go. We received our genie survey 2 days ago. Plan to work on it this weekend. This is our 2nd star class sailing. First was on Anthem in 1/2020, right before cruising and life as we know it hit the fan. This is our first cruise back, and we’re excited! Our suite will include myself, the husband, and our 12 yr old son. Cruise Itinerary: 7 night Perfect Day Bahamas (Port Canaveral, CocoCay, Nassau) from Cape Liberty, NJ on 10/15/2023 Stateroom: Grand Panoramic Suite #1758 Shore Excursions: We have no real excursions planned. Will probably stay on ship in Port Canaveral and Nassau. However, we do have a Thrill Waterpark Cabana planned for Coco Cay. Transportation: We are fortunate to live approximately 2 1/2 hours from the port, therefore will be arranging transportation through Delaware Express. We have used them many times for airport transportation, and have found them to be reliable. Looking forward to finding out who our genie will be!
  4. Hello Everyone! I'm traveling to Bahamas with my wife on the end of August. Since it is peak summer we are not sure if renting a south beach bed. Hope to read your comments! Thanks!
  5. I'm going to have a cruise in less than a month to nassau-cococay, but my passport expires 5 months after the cruise ends, I'm from Peru and right now I'm not currently at my country so I don't have the chance to renew it, is there somebody who has already boarded the cruise without been denied? What are the chances of being denied?
  6. My first cruise ever is this coming July on Mariner of the Seas! One of our port days is in Tortola! My husband and I (mid-twenties, no kids) are looking into an independent excursion - a day sail on a catamaran. One option takes us to Jost Van Dyke and the other to Norman Island and the Indians. The Norman Island option includes several stops for snorkeling, but there is no guarantee of snorkeling stops on the Jost Van Dyke itinerary. My husband is really hoping to snorkel at some point on our trip and I think this might be our #1 opportunity for that. BUT Jost Van Dyke looks too good to pass up too - that white sand! Any thoughts on either for anyone that has been? Our other stops are St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, and CocoCay. Not sure how good the snorkeling options will be at those ports, any opinions and advice is welcome!
  7. Excited to celebrate our 15th anniversary & our oldest boy’s 6th birthday with our family of 4. Andrew (36), Ambere (35), AJ (6), and Alex (2). This will be Ambere & my second cruise and the first one with our boys. Our first one was a 4 day Bahamas on our honeymoon aboard Sovereign Of The Seas (RIP) in 2008. Excited to go back to Nassau & CocoCay & see Bermuda for the first time!
  8. Hey everyone! So I have yet to find a post that specifically disucsses this, but which day bed at Coco Cay is best in your opinion? Pros? Cons? Just wondering what everyones take is on these and if you did use one, would you do it again?
  9. Hi everyone, I am cruising next month and am wondering: 1. Do beach beds ever become available on Coco Cay once they are showing as "sold out" like once you board? Is there a possibility that there will be some available if I try to reserve on board? I'd really like to have a designated space on if at all possible. I'm checking daily, throughout the day but it's a no go. 2. Should a beach bed not be available, what is the best spot to likely grab loungers before they're all taken? Thanks everyone! Any feedback is welcome. This is only my second cruise and my first was 20 years ago on my honeymoon. It's a whole new world out there now. FYI, there will be two adults in our party, so kid friendly area is not a concern.
  10. Hi All! Question for anyone that can answer. Got an email stating that our itinerary was changed for our sailing. Coco Cay and our sea day have been switched. No biggie and it's truly fine. However, for the original date, we had wanted to purchase a bed for Chill Island and everything was sold out. Now that the schedule has changed, will more spots open? If you've already booked, does it carry over? Just curious since I checked one site that said we'll be the only ship in port that day (since the switch). Please advise. Thanks!
  11. Hi, I am boarding Harmony of the Seas 7n western on 5/1/22 and I will have my 9 month old, and 11 & 13 year old boys. I am looking for all kinds of advice, tips, tricks etc. I plan to take my own travel crib because it's lightweight, compact, and I know its clean. But in general how does a pack-n-play fit into a room? I currently have a Boardwalk Balcony but I did the Offer Up (pending) for the ultra spacious room. I am thinking putting in an offer for the junior suite and also basic balcony room too. Maybe the ocean will be quieter for the baby to sleep. But anyway, I will have 2 adults, baby and 11yr old in my room so I am looking for suggestions on rooms. Should I go to a bigger suite? We are a party of 10 so I am unsure how it works if one room is a suite and the rest are basic. I want to dine with everyone so not looking to be secluded. Baby- How did you heat water for the bottle? How did you get water for the bottle? Did you take a sound machine? Did you take a stroller? Uppababy cruz or umbrella? Suggestions on what to carry on vs pack for the baby. Suggestions on packing enough but not a billion things for a 9m old. CoCoCay - Would you book a cabana? We were debating the over water one but it's not $1,899 so now looking at the chill island one for $999. We are doing the helium balloon and 3 out of 10 are doing the jetski otherwise the day will be chill on the island. All the adults have cruised before just not the kiddos so share what you got. Thanks in advance!
  12. We have a group going over Spring Break Next year on the Harmony to Coco Cay. We have reserved a Floating Cabana. The Listed Capacity is 8. There is 13 of us total, with 6 adults and 7 teens. We are willing to buy extra Beach club passes for the overflow and figure that it will mostly be the adults hanging out at the Floating Cabana. The Teens will probably be just coming and going to other pools and activities. What is everyone's experience with access to the Floating Cabana's after you get into the beach club. Is there a different pass for the floating cabana's that you need. If there is more than 8 people at the Cabana do they get mad? Any guidance on this is greatly appreciated!!!
  13. Well, this summer’s cruise got L&S-ted to next July, so my $49 pp Beach Club passes on CocoCay are obviously gone. It doesn’t look like prices are going to trend back to “affordable” for the Beach Club next year, so we’ll probably just grab a Beach Bed and explore the island at our leisure. Now, I’m looking for experienced opinions! There’s three options: Breezy Bay, South Beach and just “Full Day Beach Bed Rental” (no specific location indicated). For context, we’re a family of 4 with 2 elementary aged boys who will not be the LEAST bit interested in the water slides in the water park, but probably will want to spend some time in the pool. We’re really just looking for a good home base location that will let us explore, hang out and play on the beach and do a little swimming. So, with all of that said, any opinions? I fully understand that these will be very subjective, but I always appreciate all of your different viewpoints and experiences! Thanks in advance as always!
  14. I'm going on Symphony of the seas in March 2022. I looked at the port schedule for CocoCay and it looks like the day I'm visiting (March 18, 2022), both Symphony and Mariner are docking. How crowded would that be with 2 ships, especially the waterpark? I know Royal frequently docks 2 voyager class ships (ex. Navigator and Mariner), but I don't know about an Oasis class + Mariner.
  15. CoCo Beach Club: Floating Cabanas This June we (my group) are looking forward to an Oasis OTS cruise that takes a stop at CoCo Cay!!! Everyone is looking forward to it, but I was wondering what your guys' opinions on the floating cabanas were. We would split the price between everyone, and we would probably have some people relaxing there most of the time we are at the Cay. Just wanting your experiences, opinions, and recommendations! Thanks! P.S. If they're worth it, Can you reserve them? [(We have the royal Genie)(We would be fine with having other party members pay us back.)] If so, which are best, closer to land or further out? (I thought the one on the far right looked best in my opinion.) Lastly, do they rock a lot, my dad gets seasick?.
  16. Just reserved a beach bed, but it looks a long way from food/drinks. Does anyone know if are there servers roaming around to take orders?
  17. Looking for feedback/advice on the Coco Cay Wave Jet Tour excursion. What did you like, not like? I have reviewed the overview and restrictions on cruise planner but am looking for any first hand reviews. Thanks in advance.
  18. I've looked through past topics on this, but it seems Royal is continually making changes to how they book and assign cabanas. On the cruise planner you now have to link all the people who are going to be in your cabana. Has anyone skipped this by booking the cabana for one and then changing the assigned number of people once onboard or upon arrival at the cabana? Has anyone successfully booked more than one cabana on the same room/reservation? Can I still book two cabanas, one under my name and one under my wife's? We've got a group for an upcoming cruise and we're wanting to use our cruise planner credit from a Covid-cancelled cruise to get enough cabanas for the group.
  19. Has anyone gotten push back from Royal when booking more than one cabana under the same reservation?
  20. Hello, everyone! I would like some advice on this. I and my family (wife, 9 yo daughter, 5 yo son and I) are going to CoCo Cay in late September. I am debating between a Thrill WaterPark cabana or going to the Beach Club (non-cabana). My daughter is scared of long slides, so would only do the smaller slides. My son can only do the smaller slides and play areas as well. I do not know how busy Thrill gets as Harmony of the Seas should be there (a large ship) an hour before our smaller ship (Enchantment of the Seas). Will it be a mad house you think? If so, I am thinking some beach time and sand toys could be fun at the (I am guessing) less crowded beach club. Our main goal of this vacation is relax and not fight off crowds with a stick. For our booking, it looks like the Cabana would be about $600, and the Beach Club would be $250. Thanks for any thoughts or advice!
  21. My wife and I will be leaving on our first cruise on March 21st-28th. We leave out of New Orleans and we will be aboard Majesty. Does anyone have any tips they would like to share? anything from what you wish you knew before your first cruise, if you've been on majesty, things to do in Florida Keys/Nassau/Cococay... We will also be in New Orleans two days before our cruise so if you know of any fun things to do there please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  22. With all the love lately for the Coco Beach Club (rightfully so), I'm interested in seeing some South Beach updates, and in particular the South Beach Cabana! Has anyone been by there in the last few days or going soon?
  23. If doing slides in the Thrill Waterpark, what do you do with sandals/flip flops? Do you just leave them with your other stuff? Or is there a place to put them near the slide entrance? I don't like to walk around too much in bare feet on hot pavement. Or really anywhere. I assume water shoes are not allowed on slides?
  24. Hello all! My husband and I are trying to decide between the oasis and navigator, both being 4 nights in may. It will be our first time leaving our boys so its just us and it’s also my husbands first time cruising (& I haven’t gone in a decade and not with Royal) So I’ve done lots of research and the main things I can’t decide between is the navigator isn’t as big but is going to Cocoa Cay and Nassau and 1 sea day, while the Oasis is the oasis, but is only going to Cozumel with 2 sea days. Would love experienced royal fans to help and give any and all advice! ? thank you in advance! Alyssa
