  1. @Matt does a live broadcast on YouTube on Monday nights. Tuesday/Saturday is FB Live, and Wednesday/Friday is Periscope. Just follow him on the platforms and you should get notifications. Youtube is "Royal Caribbean Blog", Periscope is "theRCLBlog), and FB is "Royal Caribbean Blog"
  2. Wow! So many sights, there's definitely value in this sailing! Loving all the pictures!
  3. Can I just say, this is the funniest thing that I have read in a while! I read this twice and still laughing about it!
  4. Let me know if you find a good place. I am still holding two reservations for March ?
  5. This looks great! Thanks for sharing. I've been so curious to see what was on this menu.
  6. We debated the same thing for March for Oasis. We are flying to FLL because it is way cheaper. We even went so far as to book two hotels at the moment, Intercontinental and the Holiday Inn Express on 17th St. In the end, I am pretty sure we will be staying in Fort Lauderdale. It's hard to find a La Bamba substitute, we've tried over the last year. The drive on a Sunday morning to Port of Miami should not be too bad, especially not around 9am.
  7. Enjoying this so far. Great tip about the Uber ride. And happy cruise day!!!
  8. While affordable, I have always had a hard time pulling the trigger on these class of ships. To me, the super structure that is in the way is too distracting (for me) and it takes away from the aft views. But also, like @emsff02 mentioned, go to an unobstructed aft view on Quantum and Oasis and it’s mostly star class and expensive. Hubby and I were really excited to see unobstructed aft JS cabins on Odyssey and so we grabbed one of those for next year. Before that, in about 4 months, we will have our first aft balcony on Oasis. D11 is really looking forward to it.
  9. The price on that room did jump a bit since last week so don't take too long to think about it.
  10. ^^^This right here.^^^ So true. So many people go into star class with all these expectations and then fail to communicate it to their Genie. Genies are not mind readers. Then they go home disappointed and complain that their experience was sub par. It is not fair the the Genie. I love that idea! I think it's perfect. Let us know how it goes.
  11. No seriously...I think he really is sworn to secrecy. ?
  12. So you know what the next step is right? Time to make the plunge...even if it's just for research. There's still the new Ultimate Panoramic cabins left on OA 03/15/2020. If your girls are off, we can see you on board. ?
  13. I highly doubt that they would make any structural changes to the cabins. I would be happy if they updated the furniture and decor. Also, there are many people out there who love that Oasis and Allure don't have the wall. When Harmony came out, many complained that the wall in the GS made the room see a lot smaller.
  14. I was a lurker here for years before I signed up for an account. ?
  15. As many people here know, I am a teacher and my cruising schedule is pretty much dictated by the school calendar. My contract with board does not allow time off for vacations other than those designated times over the holidays. Hubby's schedule is 100% flexible but that doesn't help as I am the planner and mine is not. Because of this, we unfortunately fall into the category that @twangster mentioned, we pay a premium to cruise because we can only go during the high season. My strategy is to book early. We take at least two cruises each year. One over the summer, and one over March Break. I book these two as soon as itineraries get released (often that is almost two years out). From that point, I watch prices and often re-price multiple times before we pay final payment at 90 days out. We have saved thousands this way. I usually book direct with Royal (because I know exactly what I am looking for) and then I transfer to an agent for further savings. Because we can only take a limited amount of cruises each year, we do splurge a bit when we cruise. We like our suites and the benefits that come with it. The mentality that, "We can take this money and take more cruises," does not apply too much to us because we cannot take more even if we tried. So that makes us unapologetic suite snobs. Last but not least, this is the home of "YOLO Book It!" so we have totally run with that motto over the last few years! ?
  16. I sent a whole Word document. Details of everything. If you PM your email address, I will share it with you. ? Luciano has been all over the place since becoming a Genie. He's gone from Harmony, to Ovation, and now Allure.
  17. I have never seen dim sum either. The closest thing was congee once on Anthem but it looked awful, not like real congee at all.

  19. Just the two of you, I would uber/lyft it. If that is not an option, then Cortrans shuttle service has amazing reviews on FB and Trip Advisor. They charge $20pp one way; $40pp RT. We are using them next year for our cruise out of PC.
  20. As of March 2019, when we went, all the cupcake, sushi, etc. classes were all included. As far as Taste of Royal not being included, I'm with other others on this one, just make your own. You can dine all a specialty or have them delivered, all included with Star Class.
