I would really, really enjoy a cruise that circumnavigates Africa.

    Trans Pacific, Sydney to Seattle.

Once we hit retirement age I want to do a South Pacific, then Aussie/Singapore cruise (maybe in the same trip).  After that, Azamara in SE Asia.  In the unlikely event I actually come back home from there, then maybe a circumnavigation of South America, or a Nordic countries cruise.

Basically I want to get old on a ship.

Prices, vacation days aside, what's an itinerary that you absolutely have to do at least once in your lifetime? What would it be, and what ship would you want it to be on?

Mine would be doing a Transpacific trip that has New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, and ends in Vancouver. I preferably want to be on a Quantum class ship. Even though I've never been in one, it seems like a fun fleet to be in.

I could have sworn I saw a photo of Izumi Express on Liberty the other week.
I haven't been on Liberty, but I imagine it's the same set up as on Freedom: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/09/16/review-izumi-express-sushi-royal-caribbeans-freedom-of-the-seas

There's a 30+ cruise this summer that starts in Northern Europe, then dies a trans Atlantic hitting Greenland, Canada, and New England before disembarking in Boston. My son's willing to do it, but I can't convince my wife to be onboard a ship that long.

I've seen the "around the world" cruises they offer that pretty much hit every major port on the planet. That could be an absolutely awesome bucket list sort of thing, I'm just not sure I could stand over 50 days on a single ship, with the same entertainment over... and over... and over again. If the ports weren't regularly changing and giving me new scenery, I'd be convinced I was transported to the movie Groundhog Day. ;)

Seriously, how do they keep the ship provisioned with a good variety of meals over that long a span, and the entertainment on a good enough rotation to avoid boredom? I'd imagine they must have to plan out several different shows, maybe with cast changes every few ports when they also load up new food supplies.

I'd love a cruise that started in Italy, then made its way north and west to Spain and Portugal, then went up through Northwestern Europe and Scandinavia -- Northern France, England / Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

If there was a way to expand that to start more in the Mediterranean and also include Croatia and Greece, so much the better! Cover all my bucket list destinations in one fell swoop!

I have tried Breckenridge Vanilla Porter! And it is indeed amazing!

And thank you for posting this, because after I finished off the six-pack I'd bought, I forgot to write down the name of it so I could buy more! By the time I was able to go back to my local store, they'd already stopped carrying it and there went any chance to remember it by way of the label.

I was just in San Diego recently and had dinner at Ballast Point one night (it was awesome!) and just happened to be there shortly after "Victory at Sea" day when they had all of their variants out... I'm so sad I live so far away. I love San Diego so much.

These arguments suggest Royal should sail from California as they could locally sourced the craft beers. ;)

OK, I have to chime in and throw a vote for those of us whose tastes run less to IPAs and other super-hoppy / bitter beers and more towards unfiltered wheat ales, stouts (just discovered a really good "west coast style" that gives Guinness a run for its money), or a good vanilla porter (never thought there could be a "dessert beer", but there you go ;) ).

I've found some photos and other examples of the pub beer menus here, and for whatever reason these "pubs" all list mixers and cocktails and hardly any beer, which to me is what a pub is supposed to be all about!

Thanks Matt. I figured that would be the case. But hey, I'd be putting my best Jim Carrey face and say there's a chance.

We have this booked, but I'm having second thoughts about it. It would be awesome to see the ruins, but Matt is right, there's a lot of travelling back and forth and it seems like it would consume the whole day.

I'm leaning (and convincing my wife) to do the Xplor Park instead. Only an hour away from the port opposed to the almost 4 hour drive to Yucatan. Not to mention you get ziplines, amphibious vehicle rides, underground caverns to paddle a boat around, plus food. Last time I checked it was 199 PP in the RCL website, but saw one on XPlor's main website for half the price (you just need to find a way to get there) Hope everything works out for you and hope you find something great!
