I actually disagree about the Carnival food. I've only been on two, so my sample is limited. But the food was generally at least on par. The buffet had a seafood area away from the rest that was VERY good. The MDR was generally on par with some hits and some misses. The famed "chocolate melting cake" I found to be mediocre. The steakhouse specialty restaurant was one of the best experiences we've had in a specialty restaurant on any ship. Top 5 for sure. I agree about the decor and the flow was just about the worst I've seen on any ship I've been on. I really enjoy Celebrity. To me it's super similar to Royal (for a reason, I'd say), but just a slight step up on classiness. I've been on one Princess cruise and I don't think I'll ever be on another. There are gaps in the schedule. What is that about??? I'm not saying I need to do something every minute of every day. But I'd like to have options! I've heard this has NOT changed.

You should NOT assume that. It's not unusual for the entertainment to change each cruise. It's also possible that some stay on for a month or more.

You also used to get OBC by booking on board. So you could get a lot of OBC by simply booking cruises. OBC for booking suites was significantly higher.

Who drinks on a tour? Unless it's a Bacardi Rum tour or something like that.

They realigned the website to be more similar to Royal's. Now it's just downright WORSE! Used to be better and easy to navigate.

In La Spezia do a tour to Cinque Terre. Don't go to Piza and/or Florence. It's tempting, but it's far.

Did your TA say WHY a change isn't possible? Maybe it will cost you a bit more? Those front cabins are usually very nice as they often have extra room.

Is Ovation still doing Dynamic Dining? If yes, then the dining rooms have different menus. If no, they are all the same. It's just the theme of the room.

Good question. I'm really not sure if it's typical or not. I can tell you that their announcements generally DO NOT match Royal's announcements.

This is my understanding.

Comfy couches. No snacks. There's usually water, but I didn't see any this last time around. Then again, I was only there for 15 minutes or so.

It's one of the secrets of the Internet.

1) I always give the prepaid tips and give a little extra to our stateroom attendant. Usually around $20-$40. 2) yes, but unless you're follically challenged like me, bring your own. The soap is fine, but some insist on their own. 3) You can get walkie talkies, but the service can be spotty and the sounds can be annoying to other passengers. The Internet package would be the best way to go, but decide if you really need it. Just set certain times to meet up during the day. Of course this depends on the age of your children.

You can do that, but don't do that.

First thing! It takes a while to get through the whole process. Doing it first thing gives you the rest of the day to relax.
