  1. I guess if I knew the size of the group cruising with us, it would be easier to choose one or the other.
  2. See the beach beds are $149 and includes the use of a cabana attendant. I know the amount of people allowed isn’t strictly enforce but the bed says 4 maximum allowed and bungalow says 6. So obviously less space in a bed but the use of a attendant sounds more appealing. Decisions, decisions lol
  3. Thanks for the replies, guys. Seriously considering reserving one. If only the bungalows came with an attendant to grab drinks to avoid the lines at the bars!! I would be all over it!! Lol Last time at Labadee it was pretty bad. Just got off the Oasis and there was great improvement on the number of bar servers on the pool deck and in the theater. In my observation, since the start of drink packages, that services declined big time. Much, much better this time. Hope it carries over to the private islands.
  4. Just checking out the cruise planner and was considering a beach bungalow on my June 2019 Harmony sailing. I see they are going for $244. Since I never priced them before, I was curious if this is the typical price or perhaps truly a discount during this cruise planner sale.
  5. I feel the same about the drink package. But I have to say that just got off of Oasis and thought the pizza at Sorrentos was great! Definitely think they are doing something different now, at least on Oasis. Completely different pizza than any other cruise that we have been on.
  6. I wouldn’t be concerned about climbing the crown and anchor ladder. We are now Diamond after our recent Oasis cruise where we were still emerald but only used the buy one photo, get the second half off coupons. Emerald embarkation sped things up by a few minutes too. Others may utilize more of the benefits but not much there for us. Don’t see much changing now that we are diamond. Really, really hoping the 3 happy hour drink coupons will be enough to sway us away from the drink packages. Along with doing most of our drinking in port. Still have to do the math there. We have a 2019 Harmony sailing booked but after that we will look into other lines.
  7. I also shred some pounds before hand. I’m always watching but the cruise provides additional motivation. Only time of the year that I’m successful in cutting weight. It allows me to eat and drink what I want during the cruise without the guilt.
  8. Much appreciated!! Definitely looking forward to it. Just around the corner now!
  9. I used to book with Next Cruise. Not anymore. I was given false information, by the manager, regarding obc and transferring to a TA. I absolutely believe he knew it too. Just wanted to close a deal. So, I’m not at all shocked at the response from the Next Cruise staffer.
  10. I think the OP is joking about wanting to be a cruise director. Has to be, right? C’mon OP, let us in on the joke!!
  11. We hit diamond after our cruise next month. 27 days to be exact. Biggest benefit I see is the 3 drink coupon per night. I’m a drink package person so not sure of the value for me. Would love to be able to eliminate the drink package purchase. Not sure with the restrictions of the coupons that I allow be able to eliminate it. I’ll evaluate my consumption more closely during our up coming cruise.
  12. Nah! I wish I could sleep in like that. Usually between 6-630. Any later and the boat is waking for the day.
  13. Early, early in the morning, doing several laps around the walking track, with a coffee in hand. Not for the purpose of exercise but to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the view while most of the ship is still sleeping.
  14. I do visit the casino on board but wager very little so this doesn’t impact my cruise experience. But I will say this, with a lot of the loyalty benefits being diminished and nickel and diming lately, this is last group I would be messing with. The Casino Royale members, especially the big players, probably add a ton of revenue to the bottom line of a sailing. I wouldn’t want to mess with these folks! I hope it is misinformed host.
  15. Great video! Most lose me right away. I stayed with it the whole way through!
  16. I use Michelle Cunningham at Mei. Great to work with and provides quick responses. Very knowledgeable!
  17. Harmony will be a great ship for all, especially the kids. I have a 8 year old and she especially loved the slides. I think you choice in Cozumel and Mr. Sanchos is a great choice. We have been there a couple times and will go back next time for sure.
  18. Great video! Definitely looks like a cool way to check out the other areas of Cozumel.
  19. My experience with the private islands, since onset of the drink packages, is that the bars will be packed and terribly understaffed. Absolutely ruined Labadee for me the last time. Also, no roving bar staff on the beaches anymore. Only ones I saw were selling coconut filled drinks for an additional charge above the drink package. My advise would be to take care of your bartender early with a nice tip so that he remembers you and your drink of choice. Otherwise, you will be several people deep in multiple, chaotic lines.
  20. I so want to do a sailing that includes the ABC islands!! The cost of the flight to Puerto Rico has prevented me from taking it. Actually, had it booked for June ‘18 on Freedom but switched to Oasis because flight was less than half. Not too bad of a trade off, I guess. I’ll eventually get there when my cruise window isn’t restricted to June-August peak months. Only about 10 years from now!!
  21. I won’t argue any point with you!! You are lucky! But isn’t there is some kind of employment tax on non-citizens that is really high?
  22. Thanks! Might have to take you up on your offer. Considering a week in Grand Cayman in August. It’s the most beautiful island in the Carribean that I have visited so far.
  23. Yikes! What’s next? Where will it stop? I can’t imagine that there will be much interest in this. Maybe this will die on its own. But then again, who knows what people will continue to pay extra for? RC is smart and has been successful, to this point, in finding additional ways to generate more revenue. We, as consumers, determine how far they take stuff like this. I’m still booking a annual RC cruise for my family. We don’t opt for most of the extras because we are happy with the way we have always cruised so no real value for us. It is definitely alarming though.
